Hope Springs Eternal

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for a new, fun and sightly soggy challenge over at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use a nature themed embossing folder and water colouring.

The folder can be anything as long as it includes something from nature, so birds, butterflies, trees, flowers, fish, shells etc etc etc......   And we want you to use water with your colouring medium.  So make sure you spritz, spray, slash and splosh your colours around.

I used Geminin 3D Butterfly Effect and went grey and grungy

I started by drawing in some of the texture of the embossing folder with my Tripaint colour sticks.  Bought these years ago at a cheap shop in Weston Super Mare.  Then I spritzed with water and embossed some pale grey card.

Quite pleased with that.  Touched up some of the areas by picking colour off the Tripaint sticks with my waterbrush.

I super diluted a tiny tiny amount of black Brusho powder in water and applied it as a wash to the rest of the card.

I used a Sizzix Movers and Shakers Hope die to cut the sentiment.  I distressed the card edges and bled in some grey Promarker and mounted on a dark grey card base.  Butterflies always lift the spirit as the first harbingers of Spring and I always see them as a sign of hope.

Grab your folders and watercolours and get sploshy and squishy with us this month.  See you there.  Hugz

Lovely folder and the colouring looks really effective on it, lovely card Gail! I agree, butterflies bring a great sense of hope when they make their first appearance of the year.

Never heard of Tripant sticks, but I love the effect and your choice of colours too as I'm so a grey, blue and greys gal! Jo x

Beautiful grunge colors and lovely texture. The butterfly takes center stage with its gorgeous pop of brighter colors!
