Moving Mountains and Crossing the Divide

Hello Nomad friends.  I made this.  Inspired by blue and gold and the idea that the flapping of a butterflies wings could cause changes to the universe.

I used a blue textured foiled panel and embossed it with Memory Box Grand Galaxy embossing folder.  Isn't it wonderful!  I have had my eye on this one for a while and decided to treat myself.  I was trying to think what to add to it, including maybe nothing because it is a rather splendid background, when Memory Box Gloriosa Butterfly dies caught my attention.  I cut the butterfly from gold mirror card and added a black body.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it with a pennant die.

Frida Gets Around

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm back!!  My trip to the UK was a huge success with family catch ups, good food and relaxation.  I mostly survived without much internet use and it seems you survived without me too, so all is well.  I got back at midnight and geeezzzz.  Baby, it's cold outside!!   I have obviously de-acclimatised.  I am sure I will get used to it soon, or more hopefully it might warm up.  Anything over 0°C would be appreciated.  Anyway, while I was away I managed very little crafting, but I did make and share this little beauty on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The Round and Round challenge is still open until 23.59 PST 30th November, so I hope you can find some time to join us.

I used Lost Coast Designs PMC Circle Frame stamp in black on white card and Carmen's Veranda Frida Face stamped and fussy cut with a touch of colour.

Fair Warning, Coffee and a Winner

Hello Nomad friends.   Distracted today with a virtual scrapmeet.   A good thing to be distracted by.  Also my turn over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with some inspiration for the Stamp on Pattern Paper challenge.  I am finding this such fun, and the rest of the team are making such gorgeous projects.  If you haven't checked the blog do hop over and treat yourself to some eye candy.  Today I have combined a few stamps to make a coffee themed card.

I used Lost Coast Designs Mayan Stele stamped on the stripey paper which I cut with a fancy slimline die.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda My Coffee sentiment and added a fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Robust Dancer with a paper pieced dress.

Join the stamping on patterned paper challenge. Alter the pattern with your stamps, paper piecing, use it as your colour, etc etc. Real rubber or clhear stamping and theme must be the focus of your project for a chance to win Lost Coast $$$$$'s. 1st - 14th November

and a winner.........

Thanks to everyone who entered my special Janis Tribute Challenge which was hosted over on the Christmas Kickstart blog in October.  It was an awesome month and I am quite flabbergasted with all the games and events Jo had running along with all the amazing sponsors.  The prizes have been awarded so make sure you hop over and see it you are one of the lucky winners.  It was an absolutely amazing undertaking and a wonderful remembrance of Janis.  I was giving away an extra little prize for people who entered my tic-tac-toe fun and left a comment here on my blog that they had entered.  43 cards were entered in the linky and I tallied the comments and Mr Random says

HilaryJane

is the lucky lady.  Email me your address Hilary and I'll get the cat in the post LOL.

Grungy Deer Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  The spooky season is over and I am turning firmly in the direction of Christmas.  I've made a grungy mini slimline card using Gummiapan stamps and dies.

Love these long legged deer die cuts.  I think these were one of the first products I got from Gummiapan.  I stamped trees, circles and splats on the white handmade paper background and also stamped splats on the base card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz.

Layered Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Seems there's lots of people out for the count with seasonal lurgies.  If you are feeling a little low I hope you feel better soon.  I caught a cold and have been feeling a little rough and uninspired this week, but I feel on the mend today which is a relief.  Good idea to get these things out of the way before I go on holiday in a week or so LOL.  So, back to the craft room and I made a little Christmas, cos Christmas is coming, and included a beverage, cos it's the Coffee Lovers Blog hop!!!!!

I was looking at this after the photo and realised I meant to get another layer in there to offset that green squareness.  Something patterned and lighter.  Ah well........   Should have at least embossed it!!  I did emboss the first red circle, and that does give a nice lift to untextured card.  The toppers are Hunkydory and I added some die cut holly for a bit of something.  Maybe it needs glitter glue.  Everything is better with glitter.

Big Bear

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  34 awesome card makers sent cards winging their way around the planet in October.  I sent mine to Alice in Finland

I used the options of bear, friendship and something fluffy.  From the top......  Black card base stamped with Taylored Expressions Starry Sky stamp and silver embossed.  The mountains and jaggy snowy trees? are sizzix dies.  A couple of white pieces cut with a stitched landscape die.  The bear is Studio Light Moonflower die, cut from silver mirror and that fluffy grey stuff.  I then used the matching constellation die to cut the fluffy stuff so the silver mirror could shine through.  It's also a bit offset for some bright edges.  The sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes set.

You can check out the whole reveal HERE

You can sign up for the November Card Exchange HERE.

Make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card.  Everyone is a winner.

This Old Truck

Hello Nomad friends.  Whoot!  Whoot!  November already!!  It's cold enough to snow!  Oops, it's trying!  Hopefully it won't stick around.  Still, it's a good excuse to grab a cup of your favourite warm beverage and cosy down in the craft room.  1st of the month so a new challenge starting at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we want you to Stamp on Pattern Paper.  This is an excellent opportunity to use up some scraps.  I am sure I will be paper piecing any day now, but first..........

No colouring was used!  Carmen's Veranda Old Truck was stamped on some muted plaid paper and fussy cut.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background on a scrap of dotty card.  I was overjoyed to find this scrap cos I thought I had used all this patterned card.  It's just such a happy pattern and don't the trees look cool.  I used a scrap of green pp that had a diamond pattern to stamp the Fruit Pods Background.   That 'v' shading under the back wheel is from the pp.  I put the three pieces together on a white card base and stamped the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Party Words.

https://lostcoastportaltocreativity.blogspot.com/2023/11/challenge-178-stamp-on-patterned-paper.html

I'm hoping we will get lots of entries for this fun challenge.  I mean, you got stamps?  You got scraps of patterned paper?  Put those babies together and make some pretties.  And don't forget to check out all the awesome and amazing ideas from the team.  We post all month, every month.  Hop over and maybe leave us a hello.
