Drinkees

Hello Nomad friends.  The last of the month and so much to do.  Starting with a little celebration number in yellow and blue.

I used an ancient tri fold aperture card in yellow.  I used Stamplortaions Circles All Over Texture Cover plate and some pale blue card for the background.  Awesome pierced design!!!  Avery Elle Sip Sip Hooray sentiment and glasses, cut with the matching die.  I coloured the glasses with distress markers and stamped the tiny bubbles with dandelion archival ink.

Celtic Knot Rainbow

Hello Nomad friends.   Tonic dies seem to be a new favourite of mine.  I decided to use this Tonic Seamlessly Beautiful Natural Entwine Die set and make a rainbow.  I used a red foil base card and my camera didn't like it at all LOL.

The largest die is 138mm, so using scraps was not possible until I got down to paper piecing the celtic knot design.  I have been working really hard to use scraps, so I suppose taking out some A5 sheets to cut the orange, yellow and green layers can be forgiven LOL.

I used some silver stickers to finish the card.  Two flowers and a rabbit along the bottom and a small flower to finish the center.

Champagne Bottle Tag

Hello Nomad friends.  Yesterday's happy mail contained some Tonic Studio Dimensions Kaleidoscope Decorative Inserts.  I used the Lets Celebrate one here and combined it with Avery Elle Bottle Tag die.

I used blue for the tag base and cut the large Lets Celebrate die from yellow paper.  For a change I remembered to put double sided tape on it which made it much easier to glue it to the tag.  Then I found some scraps of very pale yellow, petrol blue and black, die cut them and paper pieced back into the tag.  The label in the middle looks black but it is actually a piece of gold mirror card.

Santa Seminar: Things They Never Tell You About The Job

Hello Nomad friends.  Today was a good day.  No rain, kinda warm, and happy mail!!!!   I've been waiting for this Santa to arrive cos I had an idea.

Not exactly this idea, but well, it works for me.......
I stamped Impression Obsession Night Before Christmas stamp on a grey wood effect slimline base.  I cut Sizzix Colourize Santa from red, white, black and gold snippets and pieced him together.  Then I added him to the card so he could explain all about it.  Ho Ho HO!

Bingo Was His Name Oh!

Hello Nomad friends.  Yesterday I had my allowed two people to visit and help celebrate my birthday.  It was on the 22nd, but I have been partying since and see no reason for this state of affairs to not continue.  In the spirit of fun I spotted a quirky bingo challenge at Gummiapan, so, equipped with my modest stash of Gummiapan stamps and dies, I made a card and a tag.

I gotta say, I love this card and there is no way I would have made it without Rebecka's crazy bingo board.  She gave us a 5 x 5 options board, and I must admit to being suitably challenged by at least one item in most of the rows.  I love a challenging challenge.  I started with a white card base.  I stamped the circle with black archival.  I got a nice black edge but decided the solid centre looked pretty cool with some of the ink pad texture on it.  I die cut the Heart Dandelion from white card, coloured with a rainbow of Promarkers and added a stamped fussy cut heart in the middle.  This one was a little gift from Gummiapan.  When I put it on the card I thought it needed something so I stamped the small dotted grid with London Fog Memento ink.  I added the flower and stamped the small silhouette dog.  Then I added a piece of polka dot ribbon up the side.  Love it.  I used dog, flower, rainbow, circle and ribbon and these Gummiapan supplies

Then I made this tag.  It's house shaped cos I am a nonce and started going across when I should have gone down!  It's cool, even if it is a bit Playschool LOL.

I started by cutting a piece of yellow card to 6 x 12cm.  Then I cut the roof shape, leaving a chimney!  I cut in 2mm at the top to make the edge of the roof and then cut the thin triangle pieces off each edge.  The base of the card is still 6cm wide so my house walls slope out a little.  Good for earthquakes.......  I stamped the large distressed squares on the house and the small dotted squares on the roof using Dandelion distress ink.  Then I stamped the freebie heart and using a distress marker drew in the windows and door.  I stamped the unicorn on yellow card and fussy cut, rearranging his tail and sitting him on some smeared Dandelion ink grass.  The word KLEM mean hug and is an amalgamation of letters from a coffee sentiment stamp.  I punched a hole and added some yellow stripey ribbon and done!!!!  I used tag, monochrome, animal, hug and ribbon and these Gummiapan supplies

Golden Girl

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm over on the Let's Squash It! blog today with a little more inspiration for our current challenge, use at least 3 different embossing folders and include a person.

There is one more week for you to play along.  I'm actually a little surprized this has turned into more of a challenge for you than I imagined.  It's a great one to use with sketches and scraps!!  Here's the card I made.

I've gone monotone and used Crafters Companion Pebbles embossing folder in the background and Sizzix Medallion, Cirque and Retro Circles folders on my gold mirror card die cut circles.  My person is a Tattered Lace die cut from gold stardream paper and two layers of card for a bit of extra dimension.  A few satin flowers and done!

Cookie Day

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made a simple card to inspire for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Sentimentally Yours challenge.

I used Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background and Creepy Heart Doll with the wonderful Carmen's Veranda Eat A Cookie sentiment. I stamped the Leaves Background on pale blue card with Sky Blue archival ink and die cut with a Stamplorations wonky stitch die.  I stamped the sentiment and Creepy Heart Doll with black archival, coloured the doll with distress markers, adding a little blue shadow around her, and mounted the panel on a buff card base.

Join the fun for a chance to win.  Please remember we must see real hand stamping and a prominent sentiment on your project for a chance at the prize.

Flower Power

Hello Nomad friends.   Gosh, where have I been?????  Mr Mojo got lost in the garden.  Luckily, or maybe unluckily, today was wet and windy and suddenly cold again so we returned to the craft room and made this die cut flowery card.

I used a new to me die by Tonic called Bloom and Flourish Layering Floral Frame.  I wish they would put the biggest die size in the description cos the two largest dies in this set are too big for my bigshot.  Luckily the circle dies do fit and are beautiful, so I am actually very happy I bought it.   I used shade of purple with a little gold card as well.   I coloured the flowers with Promarkers.

Patron of Foolish Intentions

Hello Nomad Friends!!  Have you seen the awesome makes from the team for this month Lost Coast Designs Numbers challenge???  Do you have a favourite??  Difficult to choose with so much amazing inspiration and fun going on.  I decided to roll out the Patron of Foolish Intentions and his Sheep.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs #3 Patron of Foolish Intentions on a cream card panel and coloured with distress markers.  I masked and stamped Lost Coast Designs Many Sheep background in a rainbow of distress inks and the Carmen's Veranda Queen of Everything sentiment.  I edged the panel with a rainbow of Promarkers and mounted on a pale blue card base.  Finally I went a little crazy with the white gel pen and coloured the sheeps' eyes.

Get out your stamps and your numbers and join the fun.  You gotta be in it to win it and someone will be winning some Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps!!!

Let Bubbles Sleep

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!  Let's Squash It! is the first and probably the only challenge for embossing folders in the universe.   We are having a blast exploring the not so humble embossing folder, dusting them off and making them do things previously unimagined.  Well, maybe.....  Here's something I imagined at 3 o'clock in the morning.......

This is my inspiration card for the start of challenge #7,
use at least 3 different embossing folders and include a person.

I started with this DoCrafts Born To Shop Beauty Sleep embossing folder.

I embossed a piece of white card and using Promarkers and Distress Markers I coloured the image.  Then I fussy cut it.  Quite an interesting result me thinks.

I used DoCraft A5 Cherry Blossom Stripe folder with lime green card and Sizzix Stripes folder with dark green card, cut the pieces 4cm wide and glued them to a 5 x 7" card.  The Stripes folder is only 4x6, so there is a join where I extended the embossing, but it doesn't matter cos I'm gonna stick a chair over it!!!!!  A new way to hide a card boo boo!!!!

The chair and the cat were kinda flying in mid air so I made some ground using a piece of gold pearlescent card that I embossed with Sizzix Dot Swirl folder.

Hop over to the Let's Squash It! blog, check out the awesome inspiration from Jo and our GDT Sally and join the fun.  If you needs some ideas for using your embossing folders don't forget to look at the Technique Time posts.

Some Kind of Rainbow

Hello Nomad friends.  I found this journal card with a rainbow of colours so decided to use it as a layer on my card.

The Hello is part of Poppystamps Hello Background plate and the fox is also Poppystamps, but instead of using the extra face bit I used a stamp, Pink and Main I think.

Patchwork Santa

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a Technique Time post over at Let's Squash It! today.  This month I'm exploring turning trash into treasures using embossing folders and scraps together.  I am sure most of us have too many scraps and I have been working hard at getting some of mine used or binned.  Binning goes against my nature, so finding ways to use them up is paramount.  I had great fun with this post and have converted a nice pile of scraps into mojo inspiring frames, layers and toppers.  Hop over and check it out.

Here's a card I made using a pile of beautiful embossed squares.

A nice big die cut Stamplorations sentiment and Santa in his sleigh with reindeer die cut from a black scrap to finish.   Thanks for the black sentiment vote ladies.

Thanks for dropping by.  The new Let's Squash It! challenge starts on the 10th.  Hugz

Curvy Chicks

Hello Nomad friends.  The sun was shining, the wind was cold, I had fun making this card.

I folded a card base from jade Bazzill dots card and used a Memory Box curvy flower border die to dry emboss both edges.  I stamped Stamplorations Fowl Play curvy chicks on various green patterned papers, fussy cut and arranged them on the card.

Pretty Cows

Hello Nomad friends.  It''s the second of the month and time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  In case you don't know, this is an international card exchange.  You make a card, you send a card, you get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone wins!!

Yee Haw!!!!  This card winged it's way to Suze in New Zealand and arrived a few days ago.  Hurrah for the postal service!!!  We have both decided that raspberry and teal cows would really brighten the place up!!  Each month there are lots of fabulous options to choose from and when I saw the Women theme I knew it was time to get the Julia Nutting dolls out of their box.  I also used the Paper Piecing option, the colours Sunshine, Flamingo and Sea Green and I think it's quite glittery as well in the real.

Hop over and check out all the amazing cards exchanged in March.  It was a bit of a bumper month with 34 participants, so I should grab a coffee, or your favourite beverage, and feast your eyes on the awesome art.

If you would like to join the fun the April sign up is open until the 6th April.

April Sing Along

Hello Nomad friends.  April!  One of my most favourite months.  Let's get this party started!!!!  Over at Lost Coast Designs the new challenge is Numbers, and incidently, Lost Coast Designs is also sponsoring the Mod Squad challenge where the theme is also Numbers!!!  Don't you just love serendipidoodousdipity!

So, numbers.  I started thinking 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... and then that song just popped into my head.  So I decided I needed someone to help us sing it and Carmen's Veranda Monkey with Banjo seemed to fit the bill!!!!  I used Lost Coast Designs License Plate Alphabet and started arranging numbers and letters.  Luckily it seemed to break up into nice sameish length lines.  I stamped 12345, and Once I and the Monkey on a white card base.  Then it started getting technical LOL.  Mask da monkey.  Then I arranged the next line of letters, stamped them, arranged the next line and stamped them.  Now, at this point I realised that Once I had actually caught a fish, yes just the once!  This struck me as pretty funny so I decided to stop the song there and instead make some ground.  I've used Carmen's Veranda small Face with Tongue, just the top of the stamp, and stamped it so it fit around the Monkey's legs and the letters in a pretty manner.

I love that that hand on a stick ended up where it ended up!!!  It's like, Once I caught a fish 'High Five' bwhahahaaahhahaaa.  Yes, I think it's gonna be a fun month.

Join the fun, leave some love, giving is more fun that getting.
