Toothy Smile

Hello Nomad friends.  Are we having fun yet???  I am bwahahhhhahahaaa.

I used Avery Elle stamps and dies and Brutus Monroe Folkwave stencil.  I cut the Sip Sip Hooray wine bottle hanger from blue card and blended salty ocean distress ink through the stencil.  Then I bumped the stencil so I could highlight above the large arch shapes with a white gel pen.   I stamped the shark on some grey pearly card and cut with the matching die.  I used a white gel pen on the eyes and teeth.  Then I cut out the inside of the mouth and backed it with a scrap of red card.  I stamped the thank you from the Sip Sip Hooray set using black archival.

Thanks for the Fish

Hello Nomad friends.  We have a nephew who loves to fish, and when he has a good day he shares his catch around.  The cold weather means ice fishing is the thing at the moment, so I made a glittery fishy card for him, to celebrate a good catch.

I used both sides of Papirdesign Jakt og Fiske Fiskestenger designer paper and a fancy frame die and mounted on a grey base card.  I used Papirdesigns Fisk die, cut from a scrap of silver glitter card and Fotballmønster die, cut from a scrap of black glitter paper, and a Papirdesign button, which says 'What a day!' in Norwegian.  I also added three glitter chip board snowflakes, also from Papirdesign.  A few scraps of blue glitter paper at the bottom of the frame and done!!

Grandfathers Tailcoat

Hello Nomad friends.  There's a fun challenge at Art Piaskownica and the badge is awesome.  Here's my tail coat project.

I started with a Tando Creative Arabian Style greyboard arch.  It comes with a frame.

My plan was to use shades of brown so I sprinkled brown Brusho powder on the naked greyboard and spritzed with water.  Wait for it to dry a bit and repeat until ascetically appealing.  Love the variation of the colour crystals in the Brusho powders.  While the frame was still damp I embossed it with a Do-craft cogs embossing folder.  These greyboard elements are quite thick.  I took one plate out of my bigshot, and I recommend using an old warped flexible plate, cos I did manage to crack my last kinda tidy plate.  Ah well.......

I stamped Kort og Godt tail coat and bowler hat with Potting Soil archival ink on a piece of weetabix box, and also stamped some cogs from another set on the coat.  I added a copper bottle cap with a paperartsy stamped face and glossy accents, then the hat with a Korthobby.no metal charm.  Lots more Korthobby copper metal charms and some fancy fluffy brown wool.  I added a heavy card base behind, but I'm thinking it might make a cool picture or hangy dingsen??

60's Baby

Hello Nomad friends.  Neon makes me happy.

Probably never find anyone to give this one to but what the hee haw!  It was quite liberating to throw these fun elements together and visit the 60's.  Psychedelia, aliens, record players and cute TV's.   I raided my neon paper stash.  You don't have one???  You are so missing out on a world of fun.  The palm tree and TV are cut from recycled envelopes that considerate friends sent me.  The rest are Do-crafts neon papers.  I used Lawn Fawn Bayou Backdrop die for the neon orange frame.  Other dies from various Sizzix sets.  A couple of epoxy stickers for the record player and the sentiment.  I'm loving it!   Feel free to slide on by baby..... It's all cool here.  Peace and Love.

Christmas Lamb

Hello Nomad friends.   We have had a sprinkling of snow today so it's all white outside.  Luckily the temperature has come up a bit.  I wasn't enjoying those minuses.   Perfect day to make a Christmas card!!!!

Mint Sauce, mint sauce!!!!  She doesn't look impressed.  I've used a warm designer card base and cut the frame using Lawn Fawn's Bayou Backdrop die.  I cut it once from blue card and then cut just the frame from silver glitter card and layered them.  The sheep is from Hobby Art Baa Humbug set.  The hat is one of the accesories included in the stamp set.  I've glittered the hat, and also the twiggy leaves, eerrrrrrr, leafy twigs?  The God Jul is a Kort og Godt stamp.  Means merry xmas.  But you knew that didn't ewe???

One Flower Two Ways

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been ages since my last blog post!!  Gosh, doesn't time fly when Mr Mojo takes a break........  So with just a few hours til Darnell's Twofer challenge closes I grabbed my wonderful new Carved style stamps from Rubber Dance and me and Mr Mojo got busy!

I used stamps from Rubber Dance Carved Collection 1 and 2 and words from Greetings.

I used a yellow panel on a gold base card and stamped the circle from Carved Collection 2 using Dandelion archival ink.   I stamped the cone flower and sentiment with black archival and added some Promarker colour to the flower.

For this card I stamped the cone flower and sentiment on a white card base with black archival.  I used a little strategic masking and stamped the 'raindrops' using Sky Blue archival.

Hope you like my same flower two ways cards.  Hop over to the Rubber Dance blog for masses of inspiration from the team.

Cupcake Wheek!

Hello Nomad friends.  I had a little package arrive from my sister in the UK on Friday.  She posted it 16th December!!!!  Never give up hope people!!  It was a surprize and there were lots of goodies, including some dies.  As soon as I saw the sizzix ice cream die I knew it would make a fabulous huge cupcake.  Wheek!!!

Very happy with this, especially since I hit the scraps!  I used a square raspberry base card and added a 14cm square of pink gingham paper.  I don't consider pieces that size scraps, but I know some people do.  I wanted to use my happy xmas to me Hobby Art Christmas Squeekings stamps, so dug out a vari-coloured brown scrap, stamped the guinea pig, a little white gel pen and fussy cut.  A hot pink scrap cut with Lawn Fawn Bayou background pond die!! for my cupcake doily.  The pink check cupcake wrapper and the orange diamond cake bit are actually reverse sides of the same paper,   I scored the 'wrapper' vertically and inked with Worn Lipstick to simulate that crenelated shape of the cupcake paper.  The dark brown is a scrap of ribbled copper paper.  The glitter glue kinda obscures the lovely metallic finish LOL.  The top die cut was a bit of painted card I have been saving!!  Looked like butterscotch sauce to me!!!  Found a scrap of red metallic card that was just big enough for the cherry die, and used a Promarker to make the green stem.  Copious amounts of glitter glue sprinkles and Wheek!!!

Thanks for dropping by.  That cupcake is making me hungry........  Where's da cake??!  Hugz

Baaaaa-Humbug

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a little inspiration for the Let's Squash It! challenge use any embossing folder and an animal.  I've combined Nellie Snellen Snowy Cottages embossing folder, loads of glitter and a NBUS Hobby Art sheep photo bombing the scene.  Like they do!!!

I embossed a panel of white card with Nellie Snellen Snowy Cottages embossing folder and added some Sky Blue archival ink over the embossed areas.  Then I went a little crazy with the glitter glue LOL.  Winter sparkle!!!!   I mounted the panel on a pale blue card base.  I stamped the front half of Hobby Art Baa Humbug Sheep on some white card, fussy cut, added a touch of pink Promarker to his face and added him to the card.

This Is Me Again

Hello Nomad friends.  The Rubber Dance team is sharing a load of fabulous inspiration today.  It's always exciting and Wow! worthy over on the blog but on the 1st and 15th we go a little crazy!  Hop over and check it out.   I was inspired by the colours on this months moodboard and also the challenge at Time Out.  The theme is you.  But they don't mean you, they mean Me!  They want us to create something that reflects ourselves.  Interesting theme, and not usually my thing, but this went together with fun and flourish.

I've used Rubber Dance girl from This Is Me, circles from Round in Circles and various word stamps from Think Again, and Whimsical Winter.  So here we go, this is me cos I am a long haired female.  I always wanted blue hair, but it tends more to grey, or silver on good days LOL.  I have a cool head most of the time, I love smiles and circles, I always expect sunshine and keeping warm is always a good thing.   I've coloured with Promarkers, distress inks and stamped with archival and memento inks.

Do hop over and check out the inspiration from the team and leave a little love.  We all need more love!!  If you are stamping anything with Rubber Dance stamps don't forget to share in the Rubber Dance stamping lounge.  We would love to see you there.

Show Us Your Gnomes!!!!

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we want to see GNOMES!!!!!

Call me biased but of all the gnomes I'm seeing in blogland I still think Lost Coast Designs' are the cutest.  There have been three gnome releases at Lost Coast Designs for a total of 23 gnome and 4 gnome home stamps!!!   Hop over and check em out.  There is 25% off your Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda stamp order with the code QUARANTINE.  But first!!   Redneck Gnome is on his travels......

Hmmm, Mayan Steles.  Must be wandering in South America!!   I used Lost Coast Designs Redneck Gnome, Mayan Stele, Freedom Dictionary Words and Travel Quotes

I started with a grungy stone look designer card base and stamped the Freedom Dictionary Word with dandelion archival and Redneck Gnome with black archival ink.

I masked the Gnome and using a piece of ripped card as a mask I blended in some hills.  Needs practice!!!  I stamped the Freedom Dictionary Word twice more behind the gnome and then added the Mayan Steles either side using Memento London Fog ink.

I used that ripped card mask to add some ink to the edge of the steles for added dimension and stamped the quote from Travel Quotes in the grass.

'A journey is best measured in friends rather than miles'

Join the gnome fun for a chance to win and don't forget to check the blog for lots of gnome awesomeness.  Please remember we are a real stamp challenge.  Your gnome must be a real rubber or clear stamp.  Please state the company and if you use Lost Coast Designs gnomes you will get an extra entry in the random draw.

Butterfly Effect

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for the fourth challenge over at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use any embossing folder and an animal.  Check the post for all the details, da roolz (updated 9th Jan) and more inspiration from my crafty buddy Jo.  Here's my card using Gemini Butterfly Effect embossing folder.

Rather pleased with this.  The folder comes with a matching stencil.  This is the first time I've used it.  These 3D folders are quite fat and I found leaving one of the cutting plates out from my Bigshot sandwich worked perfectly.

I used the stencil and distress inks and stencilled the butterfly and the dot matrix on a card panel.

I embossed with the folder and smeared the embossed texture with Iced Spruce distress ink.  Then I cut the panel using Stamplorations Crazy Double Stitch Rectangle die.

I mounted the stencilled, embossed panel on a dark grey card base.  I cut a piece of the same dark grey card with Stamplorations Aloha word die and then used the stitch rectangle die to cut the chevrons.

Grab you embossing folders and join the fun.  Don't forget to include an animal on your card.

This Is Me

Hello Nomad friends.  I'd just like to say this is not mixed media LOL.   Quite rare for me, cos I do like to mix and match my mediums, but this one is pure Archival ink.

I started with a brick patterned card base.  I have lots of designer paper and card and picking a nice base is all part of the fun.  I stamped the girl from This Is Me and sentiments from Believe In You using black archival ink.  I masked the girl and then I used about half of the stamps from the Mixed Media Marks set and lots of different archival ink colours and stamped with glorious abandon.   Done!

Don't forget to check out the Rubber Dance webshop.  There is a selection of stamps on special offer so hop over and check out the sale.   The new January release is available for pre-order now and on offer until the 11th January!

Sparkles When Cold

Hello Nomad friends.  Temperatures here in southern Norway continue to hold around -8°C.  As they say, 'Baby It's Cold Outside'!!!!   The thick frost does make for very pretty sparkles when the sun or moon hits it, but I think I have lost my tolerance to cold.  In celebration of all things cold and sparkly I made another Santa card, stamping him on snowflake paper and giving him glitter sparkles to match the weather.

I've used a lovely stamp from Stampendous called Postcard Santa.  I used a Kort og Godt grey woodgrain card base and stamped using Sky Blue archival.  I wanted the background to be subtle so I just lightly smeared my ink pad over the stamp.

I stamped Santa on some very pale blue snowflake paper with black archival, coloured with distress markers, Promarkers, white gel pen and glitter glue on the fur and tree snowy bits.

I cut a scrap with a stitch landscape die to give him somewhere to stand, and added my fussy cut Santa.  Love that he has a snowflake in his beard!!

Simply Santa

Hello Nomad friends.  52 Weeks to Christmas have a Santa challenge.  I remembered this die I bought from The Works ages ago and thought I'd make a little something.

I found a thin offcut and folded it in half to get a 14cm x 8cm card base.  Mini slimline LOL.  I cut the Santa with his list from dark blue card and used a stitch landscape die to cut the ground.  Done!
