Things Boys Do

Hello Nomad friends.  Well, April is going out with a bang as the little chick I got last summer decided she wanted to sit on eggs and today two adorable cuties hatched out.  Mummy hen is still sitting so I am hoping there may be some more chicks hatched overnight, but we must just wait and see.  I haven't had much crafting time the last few weeks, but I have had a request for a confirmation card for a young man who likes cycling, fishing and gaming, so I made this.  Hopefully it will be a hit!

I used Football Pattern, Fish and word die from Papirdesins and the patterned papers are also from Papirdesigns, Sykkel and Hytta på Fjellet.   I also used some metal charms from Korthobby to cover the love of gaming.

Thanks for dropping by.  See you in May!!!!!  Hugz

Keep Your Hat On

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been absent a few days mostly due to us having a lot of hot sunny days which have been spent in the garden.  It's been lovely.  So here I am with some inspiration for the Lost Coast Designs challenge, which is HATS.  I've gone for a Christmas theme, cos I am also elfing out over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge this month where the theme is From My Gnome to Yours.  Gotta love a twofer!!!!

This Lost Coast Designs gnome is called Profile Gnome, but I always think of him as Looking Up, and he's fun to use with things hanging or falling from the sky.  In this case it's large glittery balls!  Well, we all need a bit of bling at Christmas.  I stamped the gnome, masked him and stamped ATC Doodle Circles with blue archival ink.  Then I filled the circles with red/blue glitter glue.  I inked the edge of the stamp and used the same blue ink to stamp the line for the ground and filled it in with iridescent glitter glue.  I did consider glittering my gnome as well, but in the end just went with Promarkers.  I finished off by stamping the Merry Christmas.

Grab your stamps and hats and join the fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Don't forget, real rubber/clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  Linky closes last minute of the month!

And/or grab your gnomes and join the fun for a chance to win Rudolf's Raffle.  Don't forget to keep it Christmas!!!

Posh Hat

Hello Nomad friends!!!  It's been a toasty hot, hot, hot Spring day in Norway so I am drifting in with a little cool inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity HATS Challenge!

Anything with a hat, or even hats by themselves, but don't forget we need to see real rubber/clear stamping as well.  I've used Lost Coast Designs doll from Doodle Dolls 1 set, Travel Quotes and Concentric Circles Background.  Concentric Circles is my new favourite background!!!!  I wonder why I haven't grabbed this one before!  I used Sky Blue, Blue Bird and Cactus Flower archival inks and randomly smeared them on the stamp to get this mixed colour background.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the doll and added her and the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes to the background.

Strangely Weird

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Easter!!!   I hope the bunny brought you plenty chocolate eggs and candy.  All that sugar has obviously gone straight to my head and Mr Mojo had a bit of a weird moment throwing some unrelated items together for an unlikely, but strangely pleasing result.  It's time for a little inspiration for the Let's Squash It!! Geometric challenge and I decided to stretch my sizzix Spiderweb folder in this colourful creation.

I embossed some purple glittery glossy card with the spiderweb folder and added some purple and orange Promarker and Spiced Marmalade distress marker colour.  I die cut the panel with a stitch die, added a preprinted birthday greeting and The Greeting Farm polar bear.

I hope you find time to grab your geometric folders and join the fun at Let's Squash It!

You Silly Gnome

Hello Nomad friends.  There is a new challenge starting at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the theme is Hats.  That's fun isn't it!!  I decided to use Lost Coast Designs Silly Gnome, who has just come to live with me, and pair him with a new Carmen's Veranda sentiment, which is almost as silly as he is!

Since we are thinking silly I decided to colour my gnome in a rainbow of Promarker colours.   Do you know how difficult it is to colour one glove one colour and then remember to reach for a different colour for the other one????   Ahh well, shades of green will have to surfice.   I cut a white panel, stamped Lost Coast DesignsFlagstone Background with sepia ink, and edged the panel in a half rainbow of colour.  I stamped the Strait Jackets Left sentiment onto the panel, but it wasn't clear enough for my liking, so I stamped it on a white scrap, crazy cut it and covered up my boo boo.  I stamped Silly Gnome, coloured him rainbow, fussy cut and added him to the card.  I decided to mount the panel on a white base and used the other half rainbow colours to edge that.

Grab your stamps with hats or people with hats, or anything with a hat and join the fun for a chance to win!

Sunshine Rocks

Hello Nomad friends.  How is Spring progressing in your corner of the globe??  Or for my antipodean friends, Autumn!!!   It's quite warm here today for April in Norway, but no sun!  I love sunshine.  It gives me energy and makes me want to do things.  I joke that I am solar powered, but I think I really am!!!!   So if nature won't supply sunshine I decided to stamp my own!!!!  And to make it more fun, I made it rock!!

This is a very simple card using Carmen's Veranda Sun Tiles Background.  I just stamped the Sun Tiles Background on yellow card using Dandelion archival ink.  Then I cut around the swirly sun top right so I could tuck away the end of my sentiment strip, which I stamped using a stamp from Lost Coast Designs Party Words.  I mounted the panel on a top fold card, trimmed the edges and rounded off the base so it rocks.

Surreally Salvador

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm back with some surreally silly inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Things Beginning with S Challenge.  The team have been having some serious stamping fun with this theme.  Do hop over and check out all their awesome makes and join us.  I'd love to see your project in the gallery and we send our real rubber stamp prizes all over the world.

Today I used Carmen's Veranda Salvador Dali and some Lost Coast Designs Steampunk Fish and had some fun.

I stamped Salvador, masked him, then stamped the line of fish, masking between each impression.  I stamped the script stamp from Lost Coast Designs Piece of Calligraphy with Sepia archival ink and smeared the card and edges with the same ink.  I used Tea Dye distress to give a watercolour wash to the background and finally stamped the Do I Smell Cake? sentiment.   Fish cakes maybe Salvador LOL.

You can submit your entries to the linky party by 23.59PST on the 14th.  Why not take a few minutes to hop over and check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity blog.

Take care.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
