Meandering Ideas

Hello.  Welcome.  I was planning to do a one sheet wonder thingamabob but this card just seemed to want to be a one card wonder.  This colour scheme will be making additional appearances soon.

I've used Kort Og Godt patterned paper for the card base and the grey woodgrain paper is from the same company.  The stripe paper is from Making Memories and I also used some dark blue metallic cardstock.  I used Gummiapan Square Stitch and Simon Says Stamp Rectangle Stitch dies.  The large dark blue diamond shapes are the negative cuts from Simon Says Stamp Diamond Parade and the small diamonds, including those dark blue ones up the RHS, are the negative cuts from Winnie and Walter Do You See What I See die.  The cat and dog and the big hugs airmail stamps are from Winnie and Walter Big Hugs stamp set.  Three Cheery Lynn flowers with half pearl centers and it done!!

Ele-Friends

Hello.  Welcome.  How's spring coming along with you??  I got snowed on this morning whilst doing a bit of gardening!  Not like, oooh, I'm a snowman!  Just a little sprinkle.  Then it started blizzing with intent so me and the cat decided it was time to check the craft room instead!!  Winnie and Walter are celebrating their 5th birthday.  There are lots of different challenges but I decided to start by stamping a scene.

The elephant pair are from Winnie &Walter Big Hugs stamped with Archival Watering Can and coloured with Hickory Smoke distress ink.  I masked them, and a bit extra for the ground, and stamped the trees from W&W Into The Woods with blue Neon Radiant ink.  I removed the masks and used emerald green and leaf green Brusho's to paint the 'grass'.  I finished by stamping the Friendship sentiment from Crafty Individuals in VersaClair Midnight ink.

Year of the Fire Dragon

Hello.  Welcome.  A few weeks ago I made a faux-stained glass project which I loved.  So I was delighted to see Archiscraps and CAS Mix Up challenges wanting to see that technique.  Then I spotted the Less Is More Horoscope challenge and decided I had to go Stained Glass Year of the Fire Dragon!!!

Isn't he gorgeous!!  I've used part of Lost Coast Designs Shooting Star Background, the bit with the dragon LOL, and stamped on acetate using black Staz-on.  Then I coloured on the backside with Sharpies.

I cut a white frame using Sizzix Double Stitch Rectangle and mounted on a white card base.

February Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Hello crafty peeps.  How's your day hanging??  We started cold and dry and it's turned to cold and wet.  English weather!!!   So I'm thinking I might retire to the craft room and beat a few UFO's into shape.  My desk seems to be drowning in them at the moment.  I'm blaming it all on Mr Mojo cos I was trying to make a card for Hilary for the Card Chain Challenge and nothing pleased him.  It was gonna be birds, and the sketch, but the ostrich didn't fit the frame so we chucked it on the use it later pile.  How about this flamingo?  He'd look delicious in Strawberry and Raspberry.  Where did that blue unicorn come from!!!??  What's that got to do with anything?......  And so it progressed.  But finally we declared ourselves content with this, and Hilary says she likes it too, so that's a win.

It's a bit of a cheat cos that gorgeous background is some patterned paper from The Works.  I thought it was cool, which was why I bought it, and it helps with my current attempts to use the stash.  I stamped the Crafty Individuals sentiment straight on the card base with black archival ink.  The doll is Prima.  These haven't been out of the box for ages!!  I stamped her, coloured with Promarkers and distress inks and fussy cut.  Then I decided a black shadow would make her pop, and since I always fussy cut on the lines I had to back her with black paper and cut again!!  Ah well, worth the effort.  I wanted to jazz up her dress a bit and after think about stamping and masking I remembered all these goldline stickers I have from Craft Creations.  Use the stash!!!  I added a row of gold flowers to her hem and belt and then added some tiny tiny holographic red dots to the centers.  I also used a red holographic flower for the top of her jacket.

Do hop over and check out all the amazing cards that were sent whizzing around the world in February.  The reveal post is HERE.
