Walkies

Hello.  Welcome.  The day after the night before and lots of places are still celebrating World Card Making Day.  I think it's totally acceptable to celebrate a day all week!  Party on!!!!!   Here's a birthday card I made using CC Designs adorable Asian Meoples.

I covered my card front with a scrap of patterned paper.  I know it's pretty!!  But sometimes we have to use the pretty papers too!!!!!  I did a bit of fancy die cutting with Amy Design Asian Scene die so it didn't cut at the bottom and then I used a craft knife to cut the rest of the aperture out.  I stamped the sentiment and embossed with white powder.  I stamped the girl and panda from the Meoples set, coloured with Promarkers, fussy cut and added them to the scene.

Breath of Autumn

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy World Card Day.  I made this card using Rubber Dance stamps.  

Isn't that Geisha a beautiful stamp??  The October Rubber Dance challenge is all about colours and or make a greeting card.  Well, had to go with the theme, it being World Card Making Day an all that.......

I started by stamping the Geisha stamp onto my card and a piece of scrap paper.  I cut out the image from the scrap paper and used it to mask my card.

Then I blended Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries distress ink over the image.  Oooh look!  It's a selfie!!  Keeping my craftie shots close cos my space is pretty full with stuff at the moment.  

I stamped the flower from Rubber Dance Carved Whimsy Wood set three times and blended Spiced Marmalade distress ink on them.  Can you blend one colour??  Well, I did.  Heavy in the middle, lightly on the outside.  I cut out two of the flowers and the third one just the center.  Using black archival ink I stamped the large leaf from the Big Maple set and also the sentiment on shrink plastic, added some orange distress ink and heated.  Then I stamped the same sentiment from the Affirmations set using red Staz-on.

Coffee Helps

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy World Card Making Day!!  I hope you have found some time to craft and make a few cards.  I was a bit late getting started but I have a few projects to share now.  Starting off with a coffee card inspired by the photo over at The Paper Events.

I was inspired by the plaid rug and the coffee cups and used Joy Clair's Coffee Love stamp set and followed the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch.  The plaid paper is from DCWV and I used a Gummiapan Stitched Square die to cut the panel. 

One of the challenges at Joy Clair want you to make a matching envelope and mail your card.  I have decided, since I don't have a particular person in mind, and cos it's nice to share the love, that I will send this card to someone who comments on this post.  Please indicate in your comment if you would like to get this card in the post.  If there is more than one person interested I will get Mr Random to pick the winner.  I will post worldwide.

Rockin Snowman

Hello.  Welcome.  I wanted to make a quick Christmas card and decided to make it rock, cos they are fun and I haven't made one for a while.

I chose two papers from Marianne Designs Woodland Christmas pack.  I cut the top of the green one with a pretty shaped pierced border die stuck it on my base card and rounded the bottom so it rocks.  I cut the star garland Marianne Design die from the red paper and Marianne Designs Snowman from white card, leaving all the pretty negative cuts in place.  I inked the card edges with black archival and added a strip of patterned tape across the bottom of the card.  I like that the pattern below shows through.  I also stumbled over some sticky crystal stars so I added them to the star garland.  They are self adhesive so it was really quick and easy.  No messing with glue.

Cool Blue

Hello.  Welcome.  It's the second of the month and the September Card Chain Challenge Reveal is on the blog and looking amazing.  We even have pizza!!!   I went with the sketch, sort of, and the themes of friendship and cats and sent my card to Lise Mariann in Norway.  

I have been having a bit of a blue period and I decided to stamp Repeat Impressions Oliver on blue paper, emboss with dark blue powder and add some blue memory marker for the eyes.  I fussy cut him and then used a pearlescent blue panel cut with Sizzix Deckle Edge die on a dark blue base card.  I stamped the Rubber Dance sentiment which says 'to a friend'.

Hello.  Welcome.  Ooohh, it's October.  My most favouritest month of the year cos I get to go all HalloWeeny!!!!  I love Halloween.  It's so much fun!  I hope you will be getting your Halloweeny on too.  We are kicking off our most favourite month of the year with a month long party at Lost Coast Designs so do hop over and check out the fun.
