In Ter Res Ting

Hello.  Welcome.  There is a curious little challenge going on over at the Unity Show and Tell fb group where they want you to stamp an image and leave it uncoloured, then use some patterned paper and let that be the star.  No high art here but some nice results and I decided that you might be interested in the idea, maybe also being an owner of a small stack of patterned paper, and that I may wish to remember this technique myself at a later date.  I actually made two cards.

Here's the sheet of paper I started with...

This came from Nille (read woolworths/target type shop) a few years ago.  I picked up a few themed packs of 5 or 6 30 x 30 papers.  Some parts are embossed or have glitter on them.  This one is obviously wedding themed.  The first thing that caught my eye was the lovely border on the RHS

I cut a section of the border and added to a white card that I had stamped the image from Unity Big Time Special and then ran a chili red Promarker around the edges.  I think it works quite nicely with the heart balloon and the red glittery hearts on the patterned paper.

Then I did this.  I liked that panel in the top left of the paper sheet with the two champagne glasses on it.  I stamped Unity George and Scarlett on white card and fussy cut them.  I cut out the panel and cut along the top of the lower frame so I could tuck their legs behind the frame.  I also cut along each side of the stem of the champagne glass so I could thread Scarlett's skirt behind the glass.  Love how that gives dimension to the glasses.  I mounted on a brown card base and used another piece of paper from the set t stamp the congratulations sentiment.

As I said, interseting technique and a great way to use a bit of patterned paper.

Salmon Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  I won this Stampendous Cat stamp in October at the Cat Lovers Blog Hop which is hosted by the lovely Janis of Her Peaceful Garden.  I hadn't got around to inking it up so decided tonight was the night.

I have been wanting to join the Cupcake Inspirations challenge so I kept it all pink and white.  The cat was stamped on white card and coloured with Rose Pink, Salmon Pink, Dusky Rose and Pale Blossom Promarkers.  I used a pink gel pen for the eyes and also for the border around the cat.  Then I mounted it on a piece of pink woodgrain paper I found in my stash which I die cut with a Double Stitch Rectangle die and mounted it all on a hot pink card base.  The sentiment is a Rubber Dance stamp, stamped with Picked Raspberry distress ink and says 'to a friend'.

I used a piece of Kort og Godt patterned paper for my card base and cut the frame from dark blue card using Taylored Expressions stitched scallop rectangle die.  I smudged Salty Ocean DOx on the frame and the card edges.  I stamped the cow on pale blue card, coloured with Promarkers and a gold pilot marker, and fussy cut.  I stamped the sentiment onto the card base using Midnight Blue ink from Dare 2 B Artsy.

There are three different cows and you can buy them separately or as a large sheet.
I think you'll need the whole herd!! They are adorabull!!,

Walking Out in Dandelion Fields

Hello.  Welcome.  I hope you are safe and cosy, where ever you are.  Yesterday we had some sleat that froze when it hit the ground.  Today the temperature has risen a little, but there is a wicked cold wind blowing, so it is horrendously slippery out.  I think the best thing to do is stay in and craft, unless you are like this lucky lady and have a tall, dark, handsome to hold onto........

This is my second January project for Blank Page Muse where this month we are feeling the love.  I used the beautiful Dandelion Bursts Background and one of the images from the Classic Couple set.  Do hop over to the blog and check out all the details.

Shake Your Gnome

Hello.  Welcome.  I am guest designing for the Doodles Paper Playground this month.  I was a bit stumped for my project idea until I came across the Marianne Designs challenge where they want to see a gnome on your project.  Unsure as to whether I actually owned a gnome I went on a little gnome hunt and discovered a cute Panduro stamp.  The mushroom he was sitting on was a bit small so I borrowed the one from Visible Image Caterpillar set and made a shaker.

I used Marianne Design papers, dies and washi tape (behind the semi-circle apertures in the shaker frame) and the beautiful Flaming Sunset Sparkle blend.

Hop over to the Doodles Paper Playground for more details.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you are having a crafty day.  Hugz

New Year Advice

Hello.  Welcome.  It's the 15th of the month so time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and this time we want to see your stamped makes featuring Silhouettes.  There are some fab silhouette stamps in the Lost Coast Designs shop and the team is showcasing some of them today, and throughout the month, so do hop over and check out the amazing inspiration.  I decided to use the gorgeous Dancer Silhouette and paired it with a Carmen's Veranda sentiment that is full of good advice.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Yourba Adire background with Spiced Marmalade distress ink and cut the panel with Simon Says stamp Stitched Rectangle die.  I stamped the new to me Dancer Silhouette and Carmen's Veranda Feel Fabulous sentiment with black archival and mounted the panel on a black base card.  Done!  Quick and beautiful.

Hop on over to the Portal and check out more inspiration from the team and link up your silhouette makes for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Remember we are a stamping challenge and real stamps need to be the focus of your project.  1, 2, 3 STAMP!!

The Italian Connection

Hello.  Welcome.  I inked this lovely Unity stamp Marlow for the first time tonight and I think it might become a favourite.

I decided to keep it black and kraft and all the kraft card is actually an ex-pizza box.  I cut two panels from pieces of the box using Stamplorations Double Stitch rectangle large and medium dies.  I stamped Marlow on the medium panel and layered on black.  I stamped a small scrap of pizza box with the sentiment from the Marlow set and cut the edges of the panel with a Simon Says Stamp stitch die.  The stars were cut from some more pizza box snippets using Simon Says Stamp stitched star die.

I stamped the envelope with the same stamp and also some pretty starry flourishes using a Rubber Dance stamp.

Starcrossed

Hello.  Welcome.  Wanted to play with some new to me Winnie and Walter goodies and decided to make an ATC in pink and green featuring this very lovely feline canine pair.

Aren't they sweet!!??

I started by cutting an ATC from green patterned paper using a Sizzix die.  Then I used the small Sizzix Deckle Edge die and cut a piece of DCWV polka dot paper.  I then cut the polka dot layer again with Winnie and Walters newly released Peppermint Zone die.  Love this pattern.

I stamped and fussy cut the cat and dog pair from Winnie and Walter's Big Hug set.  I stamped part of one of the sentiments from the same set on a piece of ribbon.  The big hugs air mail stamp is also in that set and I used Picked Raspberry DOx on some pink patterned paper.  Then I decided it needed flowers so I die cut some paper I had coloured using foam and reinkers using Cheery Lynn BAF#3 die and added some detail with a black fineliner.

Bear Tag

Hello.  Welcome.  And when you get going you get going.......

Since I had the Polar Bears out I decided to make a tag inspired by Gayatri's tags.  Loved the red tops to her tags.  I used Stamplorations medium Luggage Tag die cut from white and red glitter paper.  I added Winnie and Walters Polar Bears from Big Hugs, stamped and fussy cut, and stamped the Warm Wishes to You sentiment directly on the tag.

Thanks for dropping by.  Back soon.  Hugz

Polar Bear Love

Hello.  Welcome.  Mr Mojo seems to be challenged.  Maybe it's that after Christmas thing.  Too many leftovers!  The craft room is certainly too full of leftovers LOL.  Really need to be ruthless and get rid of some of the scraps and UFO's.  So I decided to look again at the Winnie and Walter challenges and an idea I had.

This card was inspired by Crystal's Penguin Card.  I liked the blue postage stamp look and the black sentiment ribbon, but went with Polar Bears instead of the penguin.  I stamped the blue card with Hero Arts Stunning Snowflake stamp and Prima turquoise fluid chalk.  Then I cut it with Gummiapan's Postage Stamp die.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp white embossed on black card.  The polar bears are from my new Winnie and Walter's Big Hugs set.  The snowflakes are some embellishments I have had forever.
