Fishy Fun

Hello.  Welcome.  New month.  New challenges.  Starting the month at Rubber Dance where the new challenge theme is Black and White plus one and/or wings/feathers.  I love black and white plus one.  It gives such a striking result.  And I love these new fish stamps from Rubber Dance.  So I ended up making a whole set of cards, and a folder to hold them.

I used Fish Swim Love, a stamp from Crazy Flower 2 and the sentiments are from Norwegian Greetings.  Incidentally there is an English version of these lovely little sentiments, called Just A Note.  I love the fonts, the variety and also the tiny little hearts that come with these sets.  But enough of that!!  Onto some close ups........

On all these cards I stamped the blue elements with dye ink, masked and used the Crazy Flower 2 stamp with black archival.  Sentiment says 'to a friend'

I had fun combining the fish images and trying to match them to the sentiments.  This one says 'hi' in a cute sort of way.

And then there're the solid fish images.  Sentiment reads 'a little greeting'.

A thanks card which translates literally as 'a thousand thanks' so I used a few extra solid fish images.

Changing the orientation of the fish adds interest and I love the small stamps that come with nearly all the Rubber Dance sets.  This cute heart was perfect for my 'thinking of you' card.

I used the cute string of bubbles for this 'get well' version.

Here's all the cards in the simple folder I made.  An A4 piece of blue card, scored, folded and glued.  I added a couple of strips of white card that I stamped with the Crazy Flower stamp and lots of the little solid fish stamped with the blue dye ink.  This makes a great gift.

Here's the front of the folder.  More of the stamped flower strips and lots of fish.  I added some white gel pen detail to the big fish.  Then I stamped the sentiment.  And flubbed it!!!!!!  It was an ARRRRRGGGGGG!! moment.  So I stamped it on a piece of the same card, fussy cut and edged with the same ink and glued it over the offending blur.  Saved!!

The Rubber Dance challenge runs until the end of the month. You can use the colours and/or wings/feathers.  Don't forget if you are shopping at Rubber Dance you can get free worldwide shipping with my code GTFreeShip when you spend over €15!
