Good evening Blogland. Hope you all had a lovely sunny weekend. Did anyone have fun with National Scrapbook Day. I must admit I am not really a scrapper but I have been gently venturing into some sketch challenges and I have decided to take the plunge. Look, not even a profile picture and here I am putting myself in a LO. Wonders never cease.
My grandmother, gosh that's posh, usually she is just Nan, is 90 in a few weeks. Wow, good going Nan. So I will be taking a little trip to the UK for a visit. I already have a couple of cards, well you know last minute change of mind, and I decided I would try and do a LO for her. With yours truly in the frame, of course. I have chosen a passingly fair photo of me taken last year in the garden with The Lamb. No, his name wasn't really Lambchop, squeamish folk look away. Luckily it wouldn't fit on the LO so I went with Sibbe, which was his name. Except I called him Lamb most of the time. And he called me Maaaaaaaaaammmmm.
So here we are, me and my lamb. Hi. I am fairly sure he not so interested in me, more in that milk left in the flask. This is probably about this time last year. I can tell you the garden doesn't look anything like this this year!! The grass is still mostly brown, no leaves on the trees, no sun, no lamb......
I have used a lovely sketch from over at Creative Craft World. They wanted 4 photos but I was inspired by the LO from Sarah where she had cut her photo into 4. I did slightly more irregular cuts but am quite pleased with the result. I could get to like this scrapbooking lark!! I have also combined the game of tic tac toe over at S.W.A.T. I have used the diagonal 3 buttons, ribbon and chipboard.
So I cut my photo and backed it with some pale green card. The background sheet and the polka dot circle are both from DCWV Pet Stack. I used a rectangle of music printed vellum behind. Top right two chipboard leaves from Tando Mini Leaves 2 and a double tied bow.
Him again. Bottom right two more chipboard leaves and three wooden buttons. I left the chipboards uncoloured, in fact tried to find the sooty ones!! and used wood buttons because I wanted to maintain a natural feel to the colours. The date and title are cut from black card using Sizzix Ida Lou's Flower Box dies.

Great layout. I use vellum MyStik Vellum Adhesive and it's worked wonders. The only thing that hasn't shown through the vellum. I love using vellum on my layouts and cards. Hopefully you'll find something that works for you! Thanks so much for joining us at SWAT!
Hi Gail, I just wanted to let you know that the giveaway for bits and pieces is not on my blog but on the C'est Magnfique blog. sorry for the confusion.

Great layout and the lamb is a cutie. Thanks for visiting me. xxx
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Your comment was a lovely surprise. I am alone in my crafting universe too so it's nice to feel connected. I don't know anything about scrap-booking, but yours looks great. Lambs are just the best and this one is adorable. Love your colours and layout. Have a creative day. xxx
Love the stain glass look with the cut up photos.. thanks for playing along at SWAT
Love how you cut your photo into four! Thanks for playing along with us at SWAT! Oh and I use vellum adhesive too.
Love how you cut up the photo! I think you should keep up this scrapbooking lark as you clearly have talent for it! When adhering vellum there are a couple things you can do; use a vellum adhesive like already suggested and/or place the adhesive where you know other elements will cover it so you won't see it. Good luck! Have a great trip to see your "Nan"!! Thanks for playing along with us at SWAT!
Lovely layout! Great combo of patterns for this photo, it all came together so beautifully! Thanks for joining us at SWAT this month!
