Last Century Santa

Hello Nomad friends.  The end of the month is nigh and I wanted to put an on the wire entry into the Rudolf Days challenge.  I really appreciate the sites that offer Christmas all year and encourage us to make a few cards every month so the end of the year is less stressful.  I decided to take a look at some christmas wood pieces I have that I bought in the US in the last century!!   Bwahaahahahaaaaa.

I used a couple of layers of patterned paper on my slimline card base, the top layer cut with Mama Elephant scallop stitch slimline die.  I cut Stamplorations HoHoHo twice from rose gold mirror card and a rose gold circle to go behind my big wooden painted santa face.

Black and White Dice

Hello Nomad friends.  I have some quick last minute inspiration for the Black and White challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.

I've made a really quick and easy birthday card which I think would be great for the men and boys using Carmen's Veranda Dice Background and a Happy Birthday sentiment from Lost Coast Designs.  I embossed my stamped dice and sentiment with clear embossing powder for a nice glossy look and a bit of texture, but you don't need to do that, so this one is really really quick!

You have until 23.59 PST tonight to join the fun with your black and white, or white and black stamped projects for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.

Don't forget to check out all the awesome projects from the team and pop back tomorrow for the start of our new challenge.

Basket Of Eggs

Hello Nomad friends.  Easter is coming!!   I have my doubts about Spring at the moment, but Easter is a certainty, although it always confuses me!!   If Jesus was born on the 25th December every year how come the day of his death can be anywhen from mid-March to mid-April?   Wouldn't it be easier for everyone if they just picked a day??  They seem to be very good at picking a day for so many things......

Anyway, I made a basket of eggs card using Paper Rose products.  Love this Australian company.  They have so many unique and lovely designs.  I have a modest stash of their products and decided to use the Circlet Layered Background 1 die to make the basket shape.

I cut Paper Rose Circlet Layered Background 1 die from green bazzill bling card and paper pieced the negative cuts back in after cutting away parts of the circlet die to make the basket shape. The bazzill bling had a nice contrast between the front and back colour so very little waste here today!   I used sheets from Paper Rose Easter Sunday 6 x 6 paper collection for the background pieces and the eggs and Happy Easter were fussy cut from other sheets in the collection.  Adorbs.

In case you are interested this is the circlet die I used.

Elegant and Orange

Hello Nomad friends.  I had a little crafty time yesterday evening and made a couple of cards for Confirmation.  It's a big thing here in Norway in Spring, and that time is drawing near.  I made this card using Studio Light Essential album die and filled the holes in the spine with orange roses.  Looks quite cute, but my sensible brain does wonder how it will travel in the post.......

I used some old papers I had and a black base.  The sentiments and the picture are from a Norwegian company called Kort og Godt.  I don't usually do flowers but I might have to try this trick again as me thinks it looks rather splendid.

Thanks for dropping by.  Take care.  Hugz

Black and White Christmas Elves

Hello Nomad friends.  The current challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Black and White and I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas card.  I often stamp images and leave them uncoloured, and when your stamps have as much detail as the ones offered by Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda they always look really good just as they are.   I've used Carmen's Veranda Elf with Star and Elf for the starring roles for this card.

I kept this a one layer card by using masks on the elves.  I stamped Elf with Star and Elf, masked them and stamped the edge of Lost Coast Designs Fourth Dimension for the floor and the vertical Merry Christmas in black.  With the masks still in place I stamped randomly with one of the Small Snowflakes and grey archival ink.  Unmask and enjoy the magic!!!  I went round the edge with a black promarker to give a nice framed finish.

Making Stuff Sort Of Day

Hello Nomad friends.  I think we probably have about 6 inches of snow on the ground after repeated showers yesterday and the day before.  The temperatures have come up a bit and it still looks like it could go either way.  I have taken advantage of a snowy weekend to make a few cards.

First, a Christmas card with a stamped wordy background.  I put a variety of Christmas sentiment clear stamps together on my acrylic block, repeatedly stamped them on pale grey card and embossed with red embossing powder.  Then I smeared the whole thing with red ink.  I added a couple of Signature die cut fa lla lla lla llamas, in scarves of course.

Gotta llove a llama.  I used some scraps of light grey card for the llama's and some snippets of red and yellow to dress them up.

My second card is based on the sketch at Creative Sketchy Girls.  I decided to make a masculine birthday easel card and repeat the sketch inside too.

I used a blue cog paper from Docrafts and some scraps of brown patterned card that I cut into thin strips.  The vintage car toppers are from Craft Creations (shop closed).  I've had them a long time.  The metal cog charm is from Korthobby.no.

Nanoo Nanoo

Hello Nomad friends.  I think aliens are a perfect them for a manly make.  Here's a Gerda Steiner alien birthday greeting.

I usually cut the deckle edge off these black card bases but decided it made a good edge of the universe.  I stamped and gold embossed the stars and sentiments from the Alien Invasion set.  Then I  stamped the space ship, stamped the alien inside, coloured and fussy cut.  I have matching dies but my lining up leaves something to be desired, but worked perfectly for the moon!!  Take us to your cake!!  Bwahahhahahaha.

Black Rabbit Spring

Hello Nomad friends.   The current challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Spring has Sprung.  Not here in southern Norway it hasn't!!  Sunny but cold and snow on the ground!  I suppose it does give the whole place that wedding cake look, but I would much rather more green!   So I decided to make a card featuring Rabbit and a green bubbly background in the hopes it will encourage Spring to spring.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs ATC Doodle Circles three times with light green ink, then three times with dark green ink, off-setting the circles.  I wanted to add a little colour so I used the small round Shadow Frame stamp and the light green ink and stamped randomly on the doodle circle background.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Rabbit with Flowers on white card using black ink and fussy cut it.  Did you know it the year of the black rabbit according to the Chinese calendar.  I decided to cut my stamped background panel and incorporate an unstamped strip to give more contrast with my black rabbit.

I hope this bubbly green background will encourage some spring feelings.

Slimline Butterflies

Hello Nomad friends.  I was looking for a butterfly die and found this lovely Rare Butterfly from sizzix that I have had for many moons and I don't think I have ever cut it.  Gosh, I wonder why, because it is rather splendid.

A few places want slimline, with or without butterflies, and I went with three of Mrs A's colours using scraps of thistle (pale purple) teal and tea green (a piece of embossing folder packaging).  I used Elisabeth Craft dies for the wonky frames.

Gotta hustle.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Hello Gorgeous

Hello Nomad friends.  It's cold out there!!  Not much to do with everything frozen and the chill making my bones ache.  Decided to have a play and make a box and a matching card for the De Egel challenge.  I went with a self closing box and kept it quite clean and simple.

I used white 250 gm card for the cardbase, box and panels.  The stamps are Crafter's Companion Sweet & Sassy Hello Gorgeous.  I stamped the girl directly on the card base, and the books with wine and cookies directly on the small triangular panels for the box.  She was a bit big for the box large triangle so I stamped, coloured and fussy cut her and stuck her on the box with her hair hanging over, which is quite fun me thinks.  I added a little pink twine with tiny sequins around top of the box.  Colour was distress inks and markers and some gold ink highlights.

Sproinking

Hello Nomad friends.  Mad March has arrived!!!   Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are challenging you with Spring Has Sprung.  I went with the lovely Sheep Doll from Carmen's Veranda cos nothing says spring like lambs frolicking in the fields.  She's not doing much frolicking, just enjoying the sunshine.

I stood Sheep Doll on a carpet of Lost Coast Designs Flowers Background and added Lost Coast Designs Sun.  I water coloured everything with distress inks and added some gel pen details.

I hope you are feeling springy and have a chance to join us.  Please remember real rubber or clear stamping must feature on your project, as well as the theme, to be in with a chance to win the prize.
