Hello Nomad friends. Wow! August!! It's the 1st of the month so time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. To kick off the month we want to see your Background In Focus. Share your stamped anythings featuring a
BACKGROUND STAMP or make a background using real rubber or clear stamps
and we want it to be the star of your project. You can add a sentiment,
embellishments or an image, but the stamped background must be obvious
and very visible!!! Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have a load of very fun and beautiful background stamps. I used Carmen's Veranda Sun Tiles Background and made a set of cards.
The last few times I have used this stamp I have used shades of yellow, so I thought it might be fun to see what it looks like in different colours. I've used different shades of archival ink, at least two on each card.
I used Sepia, Potting Soil and a smudge of Watering Can on the first card.
I used Cactus Flower and Monarch Orange on the second one.
I used Cactus Flower and Magenta on the first card.
I used Magenta and Bluebird on the second card.
I used Bluebird and Sepia on the first card.
I used Cactus Flower and Carnation on the second card.
The last two are my favourite. The Bluebird/Sepia was a bit of a surprize! It came out looking a bit like verdigris and I love it. If you want to try this my tip is stamp the lighter colour first, then add the darker colour to random place on your stamp and overstamp. Obviously a stamp platform/positioner will be useful LOL.
I was in two minds (vision of me with two heads bwahaahhah) about sentiments but I decide to just leave them as they are and I will bundle them up as a set of everyday notecards.
Hop over to the blog and check out the awesome inspiration from the team.Grab your background stamps and join the fun for a chance to win!! Thanks for dropping by. Hugz
