Dashing Through

Hello Nomad friends.  It's 25°C in the shade today!!  After baking in the sun this morning whilst gardening I decided to retreat to my craft room and make a little Christmas.  The moodboard at 52 Weeks to Christmas is really pushing all my buttons!  So I made a little something using wood, red, white, christmas tree, snowflakes and deer.

I used a red base and cut a piece of woodgrain/snowflake/snow patterned paper (PP) with a stitch die.  Raiding the snippets pile the red sentiment and white deer are Stamplorations dies, and the tree is Memory Box cut from Xmas PP.  I used a little scrap of inky brown card for the tree trunk.

Hookah Fun

Hello Nomad friends.  Last week I had a bit of a clear out.  I chucked stuff out until the wheelie bin was full.  So when I was throwing away some left overs the other day and I discovered an extra gold covered cake base that only had a little strawberry jelly on it I decided if I was keeping it I had to use it!!  I washed off the bit of sticky and it dried mostly OK so I made this........

Here's the rescued item.  A bit wrinkled at 4 o'clock but we are cutting that off so no worries.

I used two stitched dies, one square and one hexagonal to cut the wine bottle tag.  Then I used a small hexagonal die to cut the hole.  On reflection I should have used a circle, but difficult to put it back now LOL.

I stamped Visible Image Caterpillar and Mushroom, coloured with distress inks and fussy cut them.  I also added a bow with a bit of matching ribbon.  Done!!!!

Thanks for visiting.  Hugz

Sugarplum Love

Hello Nomad friends.
Sometimes you just need to send a little love.

I've used Poppystamps Large Sugarplum Fairy and Heartland Oval Frame. I cut the fairy 3 times from different shades of blue card and offset them to give a shadow/highlight.  I used a aqua base card and a panel to match the fairy cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I added the Heartland Oval frame cut from white card and then the fairy.  The hearts at her feet are two glossy dome stickers.

I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Decaffeinated

Hello Nomad friends.  The caffeine theme continues!  I was actually looking for a totally different stamp when I stumbled across this unused House Mouse Gruffies Fun in the Sun stamp.  NBUS!!  And cups.  Lots of cups.  This guy is obviously under-caffeinated.....

It must be tea he's drinking cos that many cups of coffee would have him bouncing off the ceiling.  But it's a fun image and fitted perfectly on this tag I cut using Stamplorations Stitched Tag die.  I coloured with Promarkers and a bit of fancy wool and done!!

Grumpy Before Coffee

Hello Nomad friends.  I am back!!!  Again!!!  Gosh, it's like buses before the corona crisis bwahahahaaa.
But forget all your worries!!  Today is also the start of the
2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Anything caffeinated goes and lots of wonderful sponsors to encourage us to join the fun.  Two new sponsors this year are Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda.  This is the second card I made using coffee themed images and sentiments from these companies.   This card with Carmen's Veranda Staircase and My Coffee sentiment paired with Lost Coast Designs grumpy old lady with Coffee.

I started by stamping Carmen's Veranda Staircase with brown archival ink and colouring with brown and red Promarkers.  She looks like a lady who needs a red carpet!!!!

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Coffee, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  Love those bunny slippers!!!

I stamped Carmen's Veranda My Coffee sentiment and added the lady to the top of the staircase.  Still loving those bunny slippers!!!

Coffee - Good Or Bad

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been absent.  I am back!!!  I have been spending many many hours in the garden enjoying the spring weather, which here in Norway meant sun, occasional snow and cold winds.  Today it's still windy, but it's a warm wind, so maybe summer is thinking of turning up sometime after all.

Galactic Vintage

Hello Nomad friends.  I made a splatty Aztec paint background a couple of weeks ago and decided to use it up 'one sheet wonder style' and make a box and card set.  I selected some vintage boy images and blue card for the box and card bases to go with it.  The bright metallic colours look surpringly amazing with sepia vintage boys.  Who knew??!!!

Hop over to the Colourcraft blog for all the details.

The Three C's

Hello Nomad friends.  The weather has been changeable today.  Sun, showers, hail, big winds and even a few flurries of snow!!  Happy May!!!!!!
I've made a set of Artist Trading Coins (2.5" diameter)

I used Crafty Individuals background paper from Book 6: The Seaside.  I cut my ATCoins using a circle stitch die and made sure I had a seagull image in each circle.  Then I stamped and fussy cut the seagull from Crafty Individuals Seagull Adventure three times.  He's standing on suitcases and I ripped a piece of sandy coloured paper to place behind each of the seagulls.  For the third coin I snipped the legs and suitcases off the bird, trimmed the suitcases and rotated them to act as a post for him to rest on.

On The Button

Hello Nomad friends.
I've been playing with the lovely colours Turquoise and Terracotta for the current challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and Carmen's Veranda Bullseye Face stamp.

This is a large stamp so I just stamped it on my card base keeping it close to the hinge and trimmed off the small edges that weren't stamped.  I used Bluebird archival to stamp and Rusty Hinge distress to colour.  Then I stamped the same stamp on shrink plastic, die cut with a circle die, coloured and shrunk and added it to the bullseye.  I also found three pale blue with brown spots buttons that seemed too perfect to pass up.  I edged the card with a brown Promarker to give a little bit more depth.  Love this and also love how the shrink plastic keeps all that beautiful detail in miniature!!!

More details and photo's over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Blog.  Join the Turquoise and Terracotta fun for your chance to win!!

Let Talk About Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Starting off my May xmas makes with a little gingerbread.  I don't know about you but for me Christmas is all about the three F's; family, friends and food!!!  Nothing beats the smell of xmas dinner cooking or the pre-Christmas baking.  Oooh, the smell of hot gingerbread makes me go weak at the knees.  So I made this card for someone special because, quite honestly, I exceeded my usual limits of pfaffing with this one and it took slightly longer than anticipated!!!!!  But worth it.  My vision was achieved........

I started by making the wreath.  I used this Sizzix Deer die and cut it four times and snipped off the bits I wanted.  I cut the poinsettia flowers from scraps of red card and added them to the foliage bits.

I found a green circle already cut in the scraps pile and added the wreath to it.  The ginger is a Papirdesign die cut from brown and white scraps.  I added red rhinestones to the center of each of the red flowers.  Then I used two Stamplorations dies to cut the sentiment from bits left over from the wreath cutting.

Gingerbread is definitely a joyful thing at christmas!

Happy Mail

Hello Nomad friends.  It has been a perfectly glorious day and I have been out in the garden planting seeds, potting things up, discovering that Bob rabbit had dug a huge tunnel under one of the rabbit hutches and was a meter under next doors fence!!!!  Naughty Bob!!!!!  Don't you love it when you got the day planned and then other jobs pop up and suddenly you're doing a white rabbit act.  Story of my life.  That's why I stopped wearing watches.   But the good news is my Card Chain Challenge card made it through to Gundi in Germany so that gives me something to share with you today.

I went with the colours, Black, Plum and Lilac, sorta the sketch and the theme of friendship.  I started with a black base card and added this frame that has been kicking around forever but was just perfectly the right colours.  When does that happen???  Never right??  Anyway, stamped the fun PaperArtsy sentiment in plumeria chalk and added Stampoutique's Little Hoo Hoo, stamped coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  He looks rather cool, standing there against the black void clutching his Hoo Hoo.  Gundi said she liked it so all is good in the world.
