Pina Colada

Hello.  Welcome.  I made a shaped tag using Carmen's Veranda Pineapple and the Never Too Late sentiment for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge of No Body Here.  I think this sentiment is so cool for fun birthday makes.

Lost Coast Designs are sponsoring the Allsorts challenge this fortnight where the theme is Tags.  I thought my pineapple would fit right in.  Do hop over to the Portal for a few more details on my make and the linky for the No Body Here challenge, and over to the Allsorts challenge blog for masses of taggy fun and another chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  There is also a discount code on the Allsorts blog if you need to get yourself a pineapple, or any of the other wonderful Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda stamps!

Monster Party

Hello.  Welcome.  Hot, hot, hot here today.  The heat continues.  I am officially melting.  The craft room was middling to OK so I snuck in there and played with some cute monsters from Hero Arts.

I stamped the monsters from Hero Arts Monster Greetings and coloured with Promarkers.  I used HA Stripes Pattern on the floor with Dare 2 B Artsy Paradise ink and HA Flowers and Vines with Dare 2 B Artsy Midnight Blue ink.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Happy Birthday set stamped with black archival.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm gonna go swim in the fjord!!  Hugz

Penny Platypus

Hello.  Welcome.  I've always been fascinated by platypus and when I saw this die I knew it needed me.

Isn't that just adorbs??!!  This is Honey Bee Stamps Penny die.  It makes the paper piecing easy and also uses up lots of lovely scraps.  I used a hammered card base, highlighted the texture with Shabby Shutters distress ink and then stamped Hero Arts Word Pops (3) using Twisted Citron distress ink.  I cut the frame from a scrap of lime green card using a CC Designs die.  I added a piece of polka dot ribbon which I stamped happy birthday on.  I paper pieced Penny and used a Hero Arts small heart stamp and fussy cut it.  I added two Making Memories jumbo pebbles brads shaped as butterflies to finish.  Too cute!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Growing In Unity Blog Hop

Hello.  Welcome.  Today I am excited to be part of the Growing In Unity blog hop.

Every single week of the year Unity gives someone a chance to showcase Unity stamps and gives away two grab bags of lovely Unity rubber.   They call this their Growing in Unity programme, and today we are giving you another opportunity to enjoy amazing creations using unity stamps, and of course there is a chance to win!!!

You should have arrived from Michelle, or if you are just joining me or find a broken link you will find the complete hop list on Amanda's blog.

I made a single layer card using stamps from Unity's Stand Tall set.  Isn't that flamingo just adorable??!!  I used a white hammered card base, stamped the flamingo, masked, stamped the doily, masked and drew some lines using Stormy Sky distress marker.  I stamped the sentiment and then coloured the ground, horizontal bar and flamingo with distress inks.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning some Unity stamps.  You need to hop over to CINDY now.  Hugz

Ocean Edge

Hello.  Welcome.  I decided to play again with the lovely sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This one has really got Mr Mojo's attention!

I am really pleased with how this turned out.  I have used CC Designs Sand Castle small stamp and also their double stitched circle dies.  I stamped the sand castle on white card using Potting Soil archival.  I cut the circle and coloured with distress inks and my waterbrush.  I cut a circle of gold mirror card and also a couple of gold mirror card stitched tags using a Simon Says Stamp die.  I smooched Salty Ocean DOx on my white base card, added a piece of Marianne Design patterned paper and some nautical ribbon, the mirror tags, the main image and some blue pearls.  Let's go to the beach!!!

Greetings from a Geisha

Hello.  Welcome.  The hot weather continues and the birthdays keep rolling on.  Here's one I made for a friend.

I used PaperBabes MaryLeeDee Kimono clear stamp and my design was inspired by their mood board.

I had previously inked this panel with distress inks in a random sort of way and didn't like it, but it seemed to work for me today!!  I cut it with Poppystamps Diamond Background and stuck it all back together on a dark green card base.

I stamped embossed and fussy cut the geisha and coloured her with Promarkers and gel pens.  I die cut Poppystamps Hampstead Bloom using green and blue card and added some red rhinestones to the flowers.  The happy birthday is from Happy Little Stampers Birthday Friends stamp set.

No Time At All

Hello.  Welcome.  The days, weeks, months just seem to whizz away.  Tuesday Morning Sketches have beautiful sketches but it seems the week flies by and I didn't make the last one and a new one is up.  This week the sketch was perfect for me to use this lovely die and stamp that I won from Suha at Swedish House Crafts as part of their birthday celebrations.

I've kept it simple, and I'm not sure these colours really sit so well together, but look at that sentiment!!

'In a world where you can be anything, be kind'

Oh, yes!!  Let's all be kind.  So easy, but it means so much.

I cut the Gummiapan Doodle Circle die from blue card, added some colour with Blueprint Sketch distress ink and stamped the sentiment.  The stripes are Becky Higgins PL patterned paper on a kraft base.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you meet much kindness today.  Hugz

De-Caffineated Cat

Hello.  Welcome. There's a new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and it's called No Body Here!!  Basically, anything goes, but no humans allowed.  So leave the people at home and stamp away to your hearts content with anything else that comes to hand, and share it for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars!!
I squeezed a de-caffineated cat onto an ATC!!

This is Lost Coast Designs Cheshire Cat and the sentiment is one of many coffee themed, and not, available at Carmen's Veranda.

I started with orange card.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Scarves background and embossed with red glitter embossing powder.  Then I used a Sizzix die to cut it to ATC size.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Cheshire Cat on white paper, coloured with distress inks and Promarkers for his eyes and fussy cut his head and paws.  Or maybe that should be claws!!  I stamped Carmen's Veranda My Coffee sentiment on kraft, embossed with blue glitter powder and die cut with Sizzix Deckled Edge die.  Then I stuck it all together.

Thanks for dropping by.  Do hop over to the Portal to check out some more amazing inspiration from the team and don't forget to join he fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Hugz

Feathers at the Bottom of the Sea

Hello.  Welcome.  Here today with a reminder for the Rubber Dance challenge this month which is black and white plus one and/or wings/feathers.  The team is making some amazing art this month to inspire you so do hop over to the Rubber Dance blog and check it out.  I decided to go with the colours, using blue as my plus one, and also add some feathers in an unconventional way.

Here's my finished card with one of the whales from Rubber Dance Whale Wishes set.  Can you see the feathers??

I used one of the wing stamps from the new Dreamcatcher set and stamped along the bottom of my card using black archival.  I thought it made pretty cool seaweed, or coral, or some such bottom of the sea type thing.

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the whale and put him on the card.  I thought it looked pretty good just like that!  But maybe I should make it a bit more under the sea??

I decided to try a versamark resist.  I stamped the large bubbles from the whale set with versamark ink and then I blended distress inks, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire over the top.  And I couldn't see the circles.  Oh well!!  Better get the water brush out and drag a bit of colour down between my seaweeds..... and LO!! the bubbles started to appear!!!  So I blended like a crazy crafter with my water brush, which always contains Windsor and Newton Iridescent Watercolour Medium, which I often don't bother mentioning cos it's a lot of big words to type, and you sometimes even see some of the bling in the picture!

I added the whale, but the sea looked a bit empty so I grabbed the small bubble stamp from the Playful Penguins set and stamped it all around, all around, with Salty Ocean distress ink.  A sentiment from the happy birthday set and whale is all ready to send some birthday greetings.

The Rubber Dance challenge runs until the end of the month. You can use the colours and/or wings/feathers.  Don't forget if you are shopping at Rubber Dance you can get free worldwide shipping with my code GTFreeShip when you spend over €15!

Summer Slippers

Hello.  Welcome.  I stumbled across the Stamping Bella new release and splashed out on one of the Oddball series.  Oh my, how cool are evil bunny slippers!!!!

This is Stamping Bella's Oddball With Coffee.  She comes with a cool sentiment, which unfortunately didn't fit on my ATC.  I cut white card with Sizzix ATC die.  I stamped and embossed Oddball with Coffee and coloured her with Promarkers.  Then I coloured the background with Cadet Blue Promarker and used Stormy Sky distress ink through Stamplorations Woodgrain stencil.  Then I smudged blue dye ink around the edges and stamped an Impression Obsession sentiment from the Take Time to Smell the Coffee set with black archival ink.  Cheers!!

With a Happy Heart

Hello.  Welcome.  Making a bold statement with Primary colours.

I cut a blue panel with Stamplorations Crazy Stitch Rectangle die, embossed it with a Do-Crafts Basket Weave folder and added it to a yellow base card.  I cut Poppystamps Heart Swoosh from yellow and red card and pieced the red heart into the yellow swoosh.  I stamped the tiny happy birthday with blue dye ink.
