Worth A Try

Hello.  Welcome.  Last day of the month and our Australian friends have already closed the door on February and opened their March shutters.  Here in Europe we are winding down with the last few hours whilst out American friends are just up and have a whole day ahead of them.  That means there is still time to get your More Than Two Legs creations created and linked up, for a chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.

I made an ATC using Carmen's Veranda White Cat and Chocolate Breakfast sentiment and Lost Coast Designs Cracked Sky.  Hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for details and the linky for the More Than 2 Legs challenge.

Shake It Up

Hello.  Welcome.  OK, maybe I'm starting to get into this shaker thing.  This one I based on the CAS-ual Fridays sketch.

I used Memory Box Lisette Buckle die to cut the three apertures in a panel of marbled red card.  I backed the shaker aperture with heart patterned paper.  It was white with grey hearts, but I wanted it pink, so I added some Worn Lipstick distress ink to give it a bit of colour.  I used some large heart shape confetti to fill my shaker windows.  The thanks is a Winnie and Walter die cut from gold card and I also cut 4 Memory Box Tiny Bubbles from the same gold card.

Welcome to the Spearmint Zone

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling green this evening and decided to play with the retiform technique.  It looks like this

I masked and sponged the lines using Mowed Lawn distress ink.  Then I masked off the sections and stamped Winnie and Walters Peppermint Zone stamp with Pine Needles distress ink.  Then I die cut Winnie and Walters Thanks die 4 times from green glitter paper.

Handy Bag

Hello.  Welcome.  Korthobby have moved their challenges to fb and have challenged us to make a purse from paper.  I used this tutorial by Lisen to make a cute party handbag for a birthday girl.

I really liked the design of this.  It's sturdy and there's a nice size space inside.  I was thinking I could use it to hold a set of cards, but I'm going to slip a card and some chocolates in this one LOL.

I used Bazzill for the base and Sizzix patterned paper for the panels.  The cameo and the metal flourish and hearts are all from Korthobby.no.  The sentiment was die cut using Cheery Lynn and Stamploration dies.

WoW Shaker

Hello.  Welcome.  Somebody check my brain!  Still there??
I made another shaker!!  Is this how it works?  Like an addiction??  Just gotta try it one more time???  Pleased with the result, but would probably do a few things differently next time.  Next time!!!!!!!!  Brain still there?  One thing I would do different is not use sequins that had so much static that they wouldn't come off my fingers!  But then again, at least it means they don't all immediately drop to the bottom of the shaker.  They kinda cling to the acetate.  Maybe not such a good design feature. Ahh well.............

I cut the aperture using Poppystamps Heartland Oval Frame, backed it with acetate and returned the die cut frame to the aperture.  I used funky foam behind the acetate and added some across the middle behind the hearts to keep the two shaker sections separate and filled with white and clear iridescent sequins.  I used Winnie and Walter thanks die with white glitter card.  The hearts were some extra cuts that come with the Poppystamp die.

Thanks for dropping by.  Off to eat some cake.  Hugz

Chick Talk

Hello.  Welcome.  Hope you are having a fun Saturday.  I did a few things in the garden, but it's pretty chilly, so I decided to put together an ATC that I had an idea for.  For a change the picture in my brain became reality quite rapidly, once I located the chicken!!!

I spotted Art Impressions small Birdie stamp and it got me thinking about Janis' ATC with chickens challenge.

I cut an ATC from kraft using a Sizzix die and stamped it with Potting Soil archival ink and Whimsy Stamps Into The Farm background stamp.

I cut a piece of silver mirror card with the ATC die and then used Die-Versions Fence background die.  I used some real straw at the bottom of the card and stamped, embossed, coloured and fussy cut Art Impressions small Birdie stamp.  The sentiment is also Art Impressions.

Catifer Columbus

Hello.  Welcome.  Got this oh so cool Stampendous stamp called Catifer Columbus on sale recently.  I think he's an old stamp, forgotton and lonely, but isn't he just a beauty.  And he went perfectly with this Rubber Dance sentiment.......

I stamped the cat image and the sentiment with potting soil archival on a stitch cut kraft panel.  I added a bit of distress ink colour to the edge of the map, the cat and his hat and mounted on a dark brown base card.  Ain't he just gorgeous!!!  And perfect with that sentiment.

Fortune Tea

Hello.  Welcome.   This weeks ATC theme for Janis' birthday challenge is TEA.  So I grabbed Stamplorations Tag O'Coffee dies and got cutting.

I cut my ATC base from a scrap of gold card using a Sizzix die.  I cut the stitched tag from scrap of red card and the teapot and steam from some corrugated card.  I distressed the edges of the ATC and tag using my knife and smeared Walnut Stain DI all over.  The little sentiment actually came off a Yogi tea bag (choco tea flavour).  In case you don't know Yogi tea bags come with a little string and tag, each of which has a little saying on it.  This one I loved so I kept it......

'Live light, travel light,
spread the light, be the light.'

Amen

Purrrrfect

Hello.  Welcome.  CAS and cats and ATC's.

I stamped the cat and sentiment from Pink and Main Meow set and embossed with black powder.  Then I used Salty Ocean distress ink to colour the collar and cat's eye patch and give the background a watercolour wash.  I used a gold pilot pen for his collar tag.

Shakin In Me Boots

Hello.  Welcome. I been playing along with Winnie and Walters birthday celebration challenges but one of em had me in two minds.  Shakers!!  Love em?  Hate em?  Me, I always have big ideas and always end up frustrated.  How do people just put one of these together in 5 minutes??  Anyway, I had an idea I wanted to try and I figured it's not a really challenge if you don't find it challenging.  Quite pleased with the result.

I've used Winnie and Walter's Can You See What I See cutting plate.  I used this the other day with gold mirror card, and then Lydia made a white card embossing with this plate and it looked so lovely.  So I decided to emboss with this die and also do a partial cut to make a window for a shaker card.

I took a piece of white card and embossed it with the die plate and then I used an oval Sizzix diffusion plate to cut the shaped aperture.  I used a craft knife to remove the pieces around the oval edge which had only partially cut.

I cut an oval frame with Sizzix dies to cover the edge where die cut met embossing.  I added a layer of acetate and used some ex-packaging to build up my shaker.  I filled it with lilac, silver and iridescent sequins and backed it with some patterned paper.  I also cut the Winnie and Walter Thanks from the same pp and also twice from black card and layered them, offsetting the layers to give a shadow effect.

Let Love Mooove You

Hello.  Welcome.  There's a new challenge starting today over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.    The theme is More Than Two Legs and we want to see your many legged things.  No people please, unless they got three legs or are companions to dogs, cats, cows, butterflies, bees, tables, chairs or centipedes.  Here's the delectable Carmen Mooranda to get us in the mood.

I stamped, embossed and masked Carmen's Veranda Carmen Mooranda and stamped part of the Yourba Adire background stamp to act as the carpet.  Then she decided she needed some wallpaper and I stamped the Hearts and Curls Border with red staz-on 5 times.  I coloured the hearty stripes with Festive Berries and the plain stripes with Crushed Olive distress inks, and gave the floor a wash of Stormy Sky DI.  Carmen Mooranda was coloured with Promarkers.  I stamped the sentiment on black card, embossed with white powder and crinkle cut the words.

Do hop over and check out the other inspiring makes from the team and join up your stamped many legged wonders for a chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.  See you there.  Hugz

Plymouth Rocks

Hello.  Welcome.  A little reminder for the Rubber Dance challenge and an ATC for Janis.

I keep hearing it's carnival season so Rascal Rooster decided to go all Mardi Gras, inspired by the Rubber Dance challenge colours and the theme of Hearts.
I stamped and embossed Rubber Dance Rascal Rooster and stamped the small heart from Arty Hearty with red staz-on ink.  I coloured the rooster, hearts and background with Promarkers, sharpies, distress inks and brusho's.  One layer very mixed media LOL.

You can join up your makes using the colours or the theme until the end of the month for a chance to win a gift voucher to the shop.  Have you seen the new release??  It's fab and it's on sale!!!  Hop over and check out the amazing bundle deals and don't forget if you spend over €15 you can get free worldwide shipping with my code GTFreeShip

A Boys Best Friend

Hello.  Welcome.  We woke to a world gone white again today.  The chickens really don't like it when the ground changes colour and it's wet and cold between chicken toes.  Bunnies on the other hand think white stuff is great fun.  It's so nice to chill out and bunny footprints are everywhere.  Well, love it or hate it I don't thinks it's going to hang around very long.  Maybe it helped inspire this black and white creation featuring a very very cool photo-real stamp from Lost Coast Designs.

Colourcraft produce the wonderful Brusho's, but also lots of other paints and mediums.  I combined Rubber Dance's Playful Penguins and Affirmations stamps and Colourcraft Brusho's and Aztec paints to make a fun and colourful scene.

I spritzed water on my card, sprinkled orange, sunburst lemon and sandstone brusho powders, spritzed again and went and had a cup of tea while the magic happened.

I stamped the ice floe stamp from Playful Penguins on a piece of white card using a mask so I could get a continuous image.  I fussy cut the top of the images and loosely watercoloured the 'water' using a tiny bit of ultramarine brusho powder in water.  You don't need much, the colours are really intense.  I used quite a lot of water to tone it down to this beautiful blue.

I stamped and embossed my penguin family.  I adjusted the position of the head on one of the big penguins and two of the small penguins.   Sorry folks, scissors were involved!!!  I coloured the large penguins with blue Aztec paint and the small ones with grey Brusho.  I added details with yellow Aztec paint and a white gel pen and fussy cut.  I stamped the large believe and the smaller all things are possible with black archival.  I used some of the ultra marine blue paint to fill in the letters on the believe.
