Cats, Doing What Cats Do

Hello.  Welcome.  Inspired by the lovely moodboard over at VLVS I stamped up this pretty cat image and split it between two ATC's.  

I cut two red ATC's using a Sizzix die and stamped and embossed the VLVS Blowing Dandelion image to cover them.  I stamped the VLVS Cats with Sewing Basket on pale blue card, added some shading with blue distress inks and fussy cut.  Then I split the cat image and added one part to each ATC.

Sweet Ginger

Hello.  Welcome.  Needed to play with the little ginger again. 

He's so cute!!   I used Papirdesign Pepperkake die, cut from brown paper and edged with Tea Dye distress ink.  I used white card cut with dies from the same die set and white half-pearls, also by Papirdesign, two which I coloured with black Promarker for his eyes.  The tag I cut from patterned paper using Stamplorations medium Luggage Tag die. 

I used Papirdesign's foam pads to mount the ginger on the tag and then I decided to make a second tag.  I used the small luggage die with the same red patterned card and then cut Papirdesign's God Jul (Merry Christmas) from dark brown paper.  

I added both tags to a bag of caramalised almonds I made, using a piece of gold and red twine with a couple of square wood beads on the end to attach them.   Love that ginger!!!

A Little Ginger

Hello.  Welcome.  I tried my hand at a few edible christmas goodies this year that I hadn't tried before and, as with all experimentation, there were successes and failures and everything in between.  It has prompted me to consider Project Life again as a fun way to record such happenings and I decided to make a start with a title card for my proposed baking layout.  Well, you gotta start somewhere.......

I was lucky enough to win this little Papirdesign Gingerbreadman die from the Advent calendar of the ladies at Project Life Norge. I would like to say a big thank you to them for it and also for all the work they put into the Advent Calendar posts.  I started with a Bekky Higgins 6x4 journal card.  I grunged up the edges and the card with brown Archival ink.  I cut the little ginger and the Sizzix letters and numbers from a scrap of brown Bazzill dot card.  The white bits were cut using dies in the Gingerbread Man set from scraps of white card.  Then I added some white half pearls from Papirdesigns, colouring the two I used for his eyes with a black Promarker.

The Cat's Meow

Hello.  Welcome.  The Korthobby fb group had a fun quick challenge this evening, putting out a sketch at 20.00 and you had to have the card made and photo entered by 21.30.  Very short time for slow crafters like me, but a big kick up the mojo for works well to a deadline crafters, like me, so I was IN!!!

Red card base.  Black panel cut with Sizzix Deckled edge die and partially embossed with Crafters Companion Parquet embossing folder.  I cut red card with Stamplorations Stitched Tag die and the love is a Gummiapan die.   The cat is from Pink and Main Meow set, stamped, embossed and fussy cut and just a little red on his collar.  Three gold hearts from Korthobby.no and a bit or red and gold twine on the tag and done!!!!

Hello.  Welcome.  God Jul to all my Scandinavian friends and a very Merry Christmas to all those of you who are celebrating The Day today.  Here in Scandinavia and a lot of Europe today is the day for eating huge meals with the family and opening the presents.  So soon I will be cooking up a storm, playing Christmas songs, and seeing if Santa remembered to put any crafty goodies in his sack for me.  But first I have a very blue Christmas make over on the Colourcraft blog.

Baublicious Deer

Hello.  Welcome.  I am slowly getting ready for the big day that will be here, and over, before we can blink.  I made some simple tags inspired by Elin's tags over at the Ett Trykk advent calendar.   I liked the white die cut on various shades of blue so decided to use this Signature Reindeer Bauble die for the first time.  NBUS alert!! 

Isn't that a super pretty die?  I cut it three times from white card and then cut three circles in various shades of blue to back the die cuts.  The die comes with a separate little die to make the cap and I cut these from silver glitter card.

Da Bomb

Hello.  Welcome.  I was supposed to finish writing my christmas cards today.  Plan A!!  I bombed!!!  Ahh well, tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow.........  Did I tell you my middle name is Procrastination.  If you don't know what that means I'll tell you later.  But I did make one more card to add to the gotta write and send these pile......

I made this in response to a quick challenge over at the Unity fb group, but this evening they extended the deadline to thursday!  Good job they did that after I had made this cos otherwise I wouldn't have had anything to share with you!!!!   I've used stamps from Unity All Winter Long kit.  I stamped the background stamp on a white panel I cut with Stamplorations stitched rectangle die.  I stamped the snowman stocking a second time on a scrap of white card, coloured and fussy cut it.  Then I added silver glitter to the bottom and irridecent glitter to the snowman.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of black card and embossed with white powder.

The Adventures of Stormy

Hello.  Welcome.  Couldn't resist playing with da bunny again.  

Now I'm not sure what he's trying to say cos those cookies are labelled for Santa, so is he saying Santa's coming soon, or is he saying if Santa doesn't come soon those cookies are mine!!  This is Visible Image White Rabbit stamped on a square base card and masked.  Then I used the mushroom from the Visible Image Caterpillar set with some masks and created a whole pile of cookies!!!  I coloured with Promarkers  The little tag says 'for santa' and is from The Cat's Pajamas Polar Holiday set.  

Then I decided that design might look cool as an ATCoin as well.  I've used a Panduro gingerbread stamp in the background on this one and given it a watercolour wash.  Not sure he followed the recipe.......  My ATCoin is joining the fun at Happy Little Stampers ATC Challenge - Pets

I decided since it was christmas I'd give the bunnies a coat of glitter. 

 

I'm wondering what ATC bunny has put in those cookies.  Those chips look a little sparkly and he's got those wild eyes!!!

December Sparkle Blends Release Blog Hop

Hello.  Welcome.  This month I am guest designing for Doodles Paper Playground and I am so happy to be hopping with the team for the new release, so welcome to the December Release Blog Hop!  You should be coming from Annie.  There are 6 new blends to share with you and I can't wait to see more of what the team has to share with us all!  

Here's my project.  I made a shaker tag!

Sqquueeee!  How cute is that??  Penguins on frozen pond!!  Aren't they adorbs??  And so much sparkly loveliness!!

I started by making my Shaker element.  I cut a piece of patterned paper, a piece of acetate, a piece of foam and a piece of white card with Sizzix Rounded Tags dies.  Then I cut the foam and the white card with Poppystamps House in the Woods die.  It gives this lovely tree lined aperture, but alas, once again, the house had to go!!  I water coloured the white card to give me my scene.  The foam I cut away all the branches and tree trunks except the biggest ones on each side.  This has allowed me to make a three part shaker.  I filled the two outside shaker spaces with Icicle blend, removing some of the bigger elements, and used Juniper Berries blend for the middle shaker window.  I also stamped the penguins' skates and the Rubber Dance sentiment with black archival.

Here you can see a bit more of the blends in the shaker windows.  I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the penguins from Poppystamps Love Note set.  Stamping their skates on the tag means I didn't have to fussy cut them!!  Then I went a little crazy with the iridescent glitter glue on the penguins, the tree branches, the sentiment and also used it to add detail to the trees.

It's Snow Time

Hello.  Welcome.  I am so excited!!!  I got me a new rabbit!!!!   I have had my eye on this one for a while and then there was black friday and he was half price!!!!  So I bought the caterpillar as well!!!!   Two for one!!  And here he is........ Visible Image White Rabbit.  Swooooon!!!!

He's wearing his christmas jacket, and he's gone all glittery for christmas.  I made a ATCoin cut with a Sizzix circle die.  I stamped da wabbit, coloured him with sharpies and glitter, masked and stamped one of the Crafty Individuals Christmas Postage Stamp stamps in the background.  Then I gave the background a blue water colour wash and edged the coin with blue dye ink.

Shake Your Reindeer

Hello.  Welcome.  Christmas is coming.  Here's a card I made.

A cute one using CC Designs 3 Reindeers.

Well, obviously this is just one reindeer, and his dog!!

I used Sizzix Merry and Bright patterned paper cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I stamped and coloured the CC Designs Reindeer image and cut his antlers so they were outside the white panel.  I cut Simon Says Stamp Ashlynn Snowflake and CC Designs Make a Card #8 Border die from gold glitter card.  I decided to make the lower section into a shaker and filled it with sequins and deer shaped confetti.

Two Penguins in a Magenta Dream

Hello.  Welcome.  Sometimes it doesn't have to make sense it just has to be.  A little unconventional Christmas with the colours from this months Rubber Dance challenge, pink, tealish and grey and/or embossing.  

Two Norwegian penguins swimming amongst magenta stars wishing you a Merry Christmas.  OK, there are no penguins in Norway, except in the zoo.  But we can all dream can't we....

I started by sprinkling grey Brusho powder on grey cardstock and spritzing with water.  I love the unexpected flecks of colour that pop up.  Except that gold one!  That might have been me being a bit previous......

Then I went looking for a star stamp.  I found this one from Retro Beach set.  It's actually starfish in a net but the Penguins were fine with that!!   I stamped them and embossed with Ranger Magenta embossing powder.  Then I smudged the edges of the card with versamark ink and embossed with the same magenta powder.  

Ah, here's the gold splashes again!!  I used my gold pilot marker.  A few artistic flicks and it's a gold and magenta delight. 

Then I added my Rubber Dance Playful Penguins, stamped, embossed, coloured with Colourcraft Blue Aztec paint and fussy cut.  The sentiment (Happy Christmas) was stamped on a scrap of the brusho background, embossed magenta and edged with Picked Raspberry DOx.

Santa Bunny

Hello.  Welcome.  Still need a few Christmas cards and it's dawning on me that I'm running out of time to get them made, written and posted.  So I decided to see if I could make something quick and came up with this.

I used Poppystamps Pickering Snowflake Background die to cut the gold mirror card and luckily all the bits stayed in place.  I stamped Unico Somebunny on white card, embossed and fussy cut.  I cut a santa hat using a sizzix die and covered it with glitter.  The sentiment is Rubber Dance (means Happy Christmas) stamped on a piece of white card.  His legs aren't really sticking out that far.  It's one of those optical illusion thingies.  

 

I liked it so much I made another one using Poppystamps Diamond Background this time.  Same bunny and hat.  Sentiment from Rubber Dance translates as With Wishes for a lovely Christmas.  

Two more for the Christmas card stash.
