Here's to Birthdays and Fun Ideas

Hello.  Welcome.  My bloggy friend Monika had a birthday this month.  She proposed we CASE one of her cards and link in to her blog for a chance to win some crafty moohlah.  What a fun idea.  So I decided to CASE this card

I decided to go purple and gold.  Purple cos Monika's blog is purple so I figured that was a colour she liked.  Also it's the Cheery Lynn Challenge theme this week LOL and since I was going to use their boots.......  Gold cos I was using it last night and it's still all over the desk.  And it goes well with purple.

I discovered yesterday that if I offset one cut line on the Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die I can cut a base card with the stitchy detail.  How slow am I??  All the panels on this card have been cut using this die with a little bit of fiddle to reduce the sizes.  I used the horseshoe from Cheery Lynn Arizona Cowboy set to add detail to the panel, instead of stencilling like Monika did.  The horseshoe represents good luck so I am sending you lots Monika.

I made my topper using gold mirror card and one of the boot dies from the Cheery Lynn Arizona Cowboy set.  I added a flower brad and a sticky greeting.  So, belated happy birthday Monika.  Hope you like my CASE.

  4. What a fabulous card! I love how it has that kick of spunk that I always associated with cowboy boots. And all of your "fiddling" was worth it because that background looks perfect. Love those horseshoes and the gold gives it that glamorous bling factor! Another creation that made me smile, so kudos again! I always look forward to the projects you submit to our Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges!
