Easter Bunny Rock

Hello.  Welcome.  I looked at the Paperbabes inspiration picture and I saw a pile of rocks, but couldn't work out how to get the effect I wanted.  So I had a look through my dies to see if I could find a shape that fitted my vision and I found an egg!!  Then I thought bunny/egg but of course......

It's not a very big bunny, or pile of eggs pebbles, so I thought I'd make a tag.  And then I came across this MDF ATC and thought it would be perfect!  And it was......!!  So, MDF ATC, eggs die cut from three shades of brown paper and Paperbabes Bunny, stamped with London Fog and black archival and fussy cut.  I arranged the eggs and the bunny then stamped the sentiment from the same Paperbabes Whimsical Woodland #3 set.

Polar Bear Tags

Hello.  Welcome.  I made some tags for christmas with a cute bear image from Poppystamps.

I used Stamplorations medium Luggage Tag and Stitched Snow Hill dies with blue and white card.  I stencilled blue 'snow' using Salty Ocean distress oxide ink.  I stamped the bear and accessories from Poppystamps Love Note and Christmas Friend stamp sets, fussy cut and added colour with Promarkers and glitter glue.  The sentiments are from the same set and also Stamplorations Christmas Reindeer set stamped with black archival ink.

Owl Around Me

Hello.  Welcome.  Rubber Dance Stamps has moved their challenge to the brand new Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge on facebook.  Hop over and join the fun and amazing inspiration being shared by the team and lounge members.  When we reach 100 members there will be a giveaway of a stamp grab bag!!  Today I wanted to share some Artist Trading Coins I made featuring these lovely little owls.

Love these cute little see no, hear no, speak no owlets.

I started by stamping and embossing the owlets on Paperartsy patterned paper.  Then I fussy cut them.

I cut my coins from more of the Paperartsy paper with a CC Designs 2.5" stitched circle die, stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Funny Birthday set, added some blue bubbles using the stamp from the Playful Penguins set and added the owl.

I edged the coins with black archival ink

This stamp is part of a sentiment from the Happy Birthday set.  I used a white and an orange gel pen to add detail to the owlets.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you feel inspired to get inky and stamp a little something soon.  Hugz

Pink Lighthouse

Hello.  Welcome.  The card I sent to Karren in New Zealand for the August Card Chain Challenge has finally arrived, so I have added it to the reveal and can share it with you too.

I went with the sketch, sort of, the colours, plus a few, the theme of lighthouse, cos I really thought a pink lighthouse was a must, and glitter, which had nothing to do with anything other than the chance to add bling LOL.  I used Taylored Expressions Cookie Monster card for the base.  I cut Fuzzy Lemons Lighthouse die from rainbow corrugated card and used some scraps to cut the shell, yacht and tiny house again.  I coloured them and stuck them back onto the die cut.  I used some scraps of blue, white and black card to make the lighthouse 'beams' and gave the blue areas a generous coating of iridescent glitter glue.  I added some half pearls and stamped the sentiment.

If you would like to send and receive happy mail you can join the September Sign Up if you are quick!!  The October one will be up tomorrow.  You can also see all the amazing cards sent all over the planet by the amazing Card Chain Challenge ladies in August HERE.

Elemental

Hello.  Welcome.  Have you been bitten by the Artist Trading Coins craze??  Paperartsy have a challenge for these this fortnight so expect to see a few here at Crafty Nomad.  I love these 2.5" circles of arty fun.  They are small enough to finish quickly, big enough to play with techniques and products and completely addictive!!!

I tend to make them in threes cos a 7cm piece cut off an A4 sheet gets you 3 coins.  I actually used some scraps of Paperartsy patterned paper for these and the large collage stamp from Paperartsy Petals 2 set.  I cut my coins with a stitched CC Designs die, stamped and embossed the image with Wow gold, silver and copper embossing powders.  I coloured with Promarkers and a white gel pen and stamped the words, found around the collage image edges, with black staz-on.

Thanks for dropping by.  Back soon LOL.  Hugz

Keep Paddling

Hello.  Welcome.  When I see water birds serenely floating on the surface I always think of their legs going like crazy underneath.  It reminds me to just keep paddling.

I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch along with Penny Black Wonky Squares die and the swan from Animal Wisdom.  I coloured with Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides.  The pretty border is cut using a Poppystamp border die and the sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  I stamped and cut the ribbon around the swans neck in dark blue and added three tiny heart buttons.

Thar Be Dragons

Hello.  Welcome.  I have recently taken over running the design team at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and I am enjoying setting some challenges with themes that I love.  I hope you are enjoying them too!  This fortnight the theme is Paper Piecing.  Regular visitors to my blog may have spotted that I enjoy fussy cutting, so this one is right up my street.  It's also a good way to use up some of those scraps.  Or not, maybe.........
I went a little bit crazy and decided to paper piece Lost Coast Designs Shooting Star Background.  Crazy, but oh so cool!!!!  Love this stamp!  Hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity to check out all the details and also link up your stamped and pieced projects for a chance to win Lost Coast Design dollars.

There are also some very cool new stamps in the Lost Coast Design shop HERE and HERE and also at Carmen's Veranda HERE.  Even more reason to join the fun and maybe get your inky paws on some of these beauties for free!!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
