Squawwk!!

Hello.  Welcome.  I am having a blast with some new Poppystamp dies.  Psst, these were on sale at the Poppystamps.com and may still be........  Gotta love a bargain and a great die.

I think this one is called Hello Background LOL.  I've embossed it on a pink card panel and then smeared it all over with Versamark Red Rocket Gold ink.   I cut the large hello in black and red and layered them with a slight offset to give me a shadow.  The bird is Whimsical Flora from Lost Coast Stamps coloured with sharpies and Worn Lipstick distress ink.  Love it.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Bring on the Oranges

Hello.  Welcome.  Decided to try a new background technique inspired by MFP.  They want to see the Citrus Bag background.  OK, never heard of this, so I followed the tutorial and made a birthday card featuring that gorgeous tiger

So cool.  I used Tea Dye and Ripe Persimmon distress ink for the background and stamped MFP Tiger straight onto the card.  Then I filled in the tiger with a bit more Ripe Persimmon to give him a bit more depth.  Maybe should have stamped him elsewhere and fussy cut but I quite like the background texture showing through.  The sentiment is from the same MFP set.

H is for Haunt

Hello.  Welcome.  We are enjoying a rare sunny Sunday.  I hope you are too.  Presenting my altered playing card for the Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary challenge.  We are playing with the letter H.  My first thought went to Halloween but then I ran across Haunt.  And the VLVS moodboard.......

I started stamping VLVS spooky tree and cobweb corner onto the back of my playing card that I had covered with some white paper.  Then I got busy with the Hickory Smoke distress and London Fog archival to add some misty spookiness.  I also added some highlights with a white gel pen.

VLVS Frank negotiating dangerous paths in, to and from his favourite haunt.  At first I thought he was pointing to the danger sign, but then realised he was just out to hang up his jack-o-lantern....

VLVS danger skull sign and x-ray turtle stamped on shrink plastic and skrunk.  Tip of the day.... don't use archival on shrink plastic.  It bleeds.  Had to do a bit of a detail save with the white pen in a couple of areas of turtles' bones.  Added some details to the steps and the grass border using a black pen.  Don't step in the water Frank!  Looks like it might be a snapping turtle!!!!  Word definition from OED.

Tea All Round

Hello.  Welcome.  I love dies.  Just got some new ones from Poppystamps.  Love this stack of teapots.

CASEing Amy's card over at the coffee lovers cardmakers blog

I die cut Poppystamps Teapot Stack and triple quadruple embossed with black embossing powder.  I impressed the die cut onto some prima patterned paper, coloured with sharpies and set the embossed outline over the top.

I cut a circle base card and covered with a piece of floral paper.  I inked the edges with black distress and stamped the Crafty Individuals sentiment a piece of vellum.

Star Turn

Hello.  Welcome.  There's a fun paper patchwork tutorial over at MFP this week.  Use up those scraps!!  I am so into that at the moment.  I'm also into square so I decided to make square panels for a square card.  And blue.  You can't ever have enough blue......

I cut my panels from scraps and stamped them with this fun little starry swirl stamp from Rubber Dance Winter Wonderland set.  The star and the thank you are from MFP USA Heroes stamp set.   I love the stitched edge and the buttons cos they always remind me to use some real buttons.  I have a whole box of buttons, that rarely get used, so I had a look through the blue ones and found a few small ones that seemed to fit.  It looked a bit unfinished still so I added some faux stitching around each panel.

Feeling very inspired at the moment.  So many fun things happening.  Stay tuned.  I am thinking of having a bunny hop......  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Angels Are Near

Hello.  Welcome.  Can you believe it's September already??  Doesn't time fly when you are having fun.  Over at Rubber Dance we are celebrating two years of challenges.  Hoping you will join us too.

Since we are celebrating there is a choice of 5 colour schemes from past challenges.   I used the July 2015 colours cream, blue and cinnamon.

Pick one colour scheme and use all three colours.  You can use other colours but the main colours must be the three from the colour swatch you choose.

I made my background by stamping the stitch stamp from Rubber Dance Sew Sweet stamp set and clear embossing on cream card.  Then I added layers of Tea Dye distress ink, letting it pool in places and adding some splatters.

I added some Salty Ocean distress ink to the background and the card edges and cut with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.  The feather is from the new Textured Feathers set.  I embossed it, coloured with Salty Ocean and fussy cut.

The sentiment is from the Sew Sweet set......

"Forgiveness is that subtle thread
which binds both love and friendship"

I cut the sentiment panel using Inspired by Stamping labels die.

Thanks for dropping by.  Pop over to the Rubber Dance blog and check out the other lovely inspiration makes from the team and I look forward to seeing your entry.  Hugz
