Birds in the Desert

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Midsummer.  It's warming up a bit here this week, and not just because of all the bonfires burning tonight!!  Soon there will be hotdogs and burgers, but first a little trip to the desert.

I find myself being inspired by my family and friends preferences when buying crafty stash.  Who knew so many people liked cacti??!!   I've always been a desert fan so had no problem adding this lovely Hero Arts Cactus Bold Prints stamp to my stash recently.  I did some yellow, orange, pink distress ink blending and then stamped the Cactus with Cactus Flower hot pink ink.  I decided to go hexagonal, offsetting the card front one half turn from the card base.  Quite like that idea.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the little desert scene from Hero Arts Where To Next stamp set.  The happy birthday, from Hero Arts Jawsome Sharks set was stamped on a scrap of the ink blended panel and I added a couple of birds cut using Hero Arts Bird Word Dies.

This makes me feel all warm and summery.

Red, White and Blue, a Sketch and a Pineapple

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with some Red, White and Blue inspiration.  It's not surprizing that so many flags use this combination of colours.  What a striking effect they make.  So grab your reds, whites and blues and your stamps and join the fun!!

I've used the De Egel sketch for the basis of my card layout and indulged in some tone on tone stamping.  Lost Coast Designs have so many lovely background stamps that can turn a flat piece of coloured card into a masterpiece.  I used Lost Coast Designs Fruitpods Background, stamped with dark blue ink on mid blue card base for the background.  I stamped Flagstone Background using red ink on red card and cut it with a fishtail pennant die.  The stamped Carmen's Veranda White Cat on white card, masked and randomly stamped Carmen's Veranda Pineapple using light blue ink all around the cat.  I didn't use a block, just inked the stamp and rolled it lightly around the cat, reinking between stamping.  I cut some scraps with a thin fishtail pennant die, stamped the sentiment and added some heart brads to finish.

Shape of a Santa

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you are having an awesome Saturday.  It's a bit drizzly today so I'm messing about a bit in the craft room.  A few years ago I turned into a Christmas all-year-round gal.  Jo has a fab challenge over at the Christmas Kickstart blog so I used retro santa and gave him a couple of gifts to juggle.

Love the sizzix colorize dies.  Great for using up scraps!!!   The gifts, also cut from scraps, are sizzix Santa's Workshop dies.  I stamped the Kort og Godt sentiment which says 'Christmas hug to you from me', on a piece of ex-stamp packaging and cut it with a fishtail banner die.  The grey background I used a Paper Rose die to get the pretty circle cuts.

Dragon Fire

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, me again LOL, here with some inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Red, White and Blue Challenge.  The design team makes are looking so striking and we can't wait for you to help us fill up the linky for a glorious display of red, white and blue.

Today I've used Lost Coast Designs Shooting Star Background.

Such a gorgeous stamp and one of my favourites from Lost Coast Designs.   This is a very simple make, letting the stamp do all the work.
I stamped Shooting Star Background with Midnight blue archival ink and then used red and blue Promarkers to add colour.  Then I matted it onto the dark blue base card and added the Happy Birthday sentiment as a fishtail banner.

Link up your stamped projects predominantly featuring the colours Red, White and Blue
for your chance to win Lost Coast Dollars.

I hope you like my card.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Goldie, Myrry and Franck

Hello Nomad friends.  Here I am!!!

A while ago I was lucky enough to win these cool wise men stamps from Emerald Creek.  I have wanted these for ages.  Love Emerald Creek embossing powders, but they also have some very cool stamps, it's a pity they don't seem to be stocked by anyone outside of Canada.  Anyway, say hi to Goldie, Myrry and Franck!

I used Taylored Expressions Starry Sky stamp and embossed with gold powder.  I die cut some palm trees from black card.  The kings were stamped, coloured with Promarkers and I did a partial fussy cut giving the rest of the white panel a watercolour wash.  I added a die cut moon.  I know, everyone goes for a big star, but they can't follow something that is behind them can they??  That means you must be the star!!

Thanks for dropping by.  I'll be back soon, so don't go away far, far away....   Hugz

Men In Hats

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  30 cards whizzed their way around the planet in May, bring love and joy to a long distance friend.  I added a quirky option to the mix for May and it brings me extra joy when the ladies step up and embrace my crazy.  Do hop over and check out all the awesome art that these super talented ladies share every month.  There is always room for new friends if you would like to send and receive happy mail.

My card went to Gail in Canada this month and I used the sketch, Men in Hats and the colours.

Lots of bits from the scrap shape box used here and I found that Rubber Dance feather stamped coloured and fussy cut in another box so, well, there you go.  Design element.  Bwaahahahahaa.  The background I used a flowery piercing die from Tonic.  I used a sizzix die for my man in a hat, cut from a strip scrap of black card and gave him a spritz of sparkle..  The sentiment caused a challenge, a boo boo, and actually a semi-remake. Not that sentiment, the other sentiment LOL.  But you wouldn't notice, so I won't mention it!!!!!

Hop over and check out the REVEAL

Get Around Tuit

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy June!!!  How did that happen already?!??!  Ah well, you can't stop time, I just keep wobbling along in my own little world LOL, but start of the month, new challenges and opportunities!!  This month's challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Red, White and Blue.  Share your stamped makes in a predominantly Red White and Blue colour scheme.  It's gonna be so pretty!!!!!

I was lucky to be voted Queen Gail at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers last month so, along with basking in the glory, I am also guesting with this card for their new challenge D is to Die Cuts

I made a slimline card using Lost Coast Designs Mayan Stele and Mini Manga with Carmen's Veranda Huge To Do List sentiment.  The long die with the fancy circles is from Time For Tea and I used a Daisy Mae fancy tag to get my edges on the sentiment panels.

I hope you will find time and inspiration to join us here, there and everywhere.
