Grungy Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been a long time since my blog has been so empty.  It's been a busy month what with easter, birthdays, gardening and lots and lots of Weather!!  But I do like to join in the Rudolf Days challenge so here I am with a grungy Christmas card using Unity stamps and Infusions powders

I used three stamps from Unity SMAK Winter Wild kit and a unity merry merry merry christmas sentiment that has been lurking on my desk.  Then I hit it with yellow and red infusion powders, spritzed with water and did some brown ink edging/smudges.

Thanks for dropping by.  They have forecast rain tomorrow.  Maybe I will try and get a bit more crafty for the last of the month.  Hugz

Happy Birthday To Me

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, I  haven't blogged in ages.  Doesn't time fly when you are enjoying yourself!!   Today I have some inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Celebrate It Challenge, and since today is my birthday I made myself a birthday card using my favourite Lost Coast Designs stamps and blue, because I like blue.

I used one of my favorite backgrounds, Lost Coast Designs Fruitpod Background, and the lovely cat from Up Close and Personal. I stamped the Fruitpod Background using Salty Ocean distress ink which I spritzed with a fine mist of water before I stamped it.  It gives a slightly fuzzy batikk style look.
I stamped the cat and Happy Birthday sentiment on separate pieces of card and edged with blue ink.  I used blue ink to stamped the cat and gave her some gel pen green eyes.

I hope you find some time to join the Celebrate It Challenge with your stamped projects for any celebration.  Thanks for dropping by.  I am off to parteeee!!!!!!  Hugz

Thrinchie Spring and Fancy Fold Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Yesterday was lovely.  Sunny, fairly warm, not too much of a cold breeze.  I had hopes!!   Today it was howling, lost my hat twice!!, freezing cold, 5°C (feels like 0!), and we even had a tiny flurry of snow in the PM.  I suppose I shall continue to hope.  But in line with the confused weather I would like to share a little spring and a little Christmas.

This is a thrinchie!!  My first!!  3 inches x 3 inches, cut from yellow card, stamped with Lost Coast Designs Concentric Circles stamp and Dandelion ink.  I cut some grass from another yellow scrap and blended ink on the edge.  The washing line is a Moonstone die cut coloured with markers and the gold bunnies are from Gummiapan.  I thought the brim of the top hat made a good bunny hole........

Then I made a Christmas card using Studio Light Tree Pop Out Card.  I spent a while trying to work out how it was going to fit inside a card before I realised it is the card!!!!   Some days.......

Here it is kinda flat ready to go in an envelope.   I cut the card base from dark green card and then the mats from lighter green card.  I stamped Ho Ho Ho on the two side panels and added CC Designs Santa, colouring with markers, fussy cutting and attaching him to the side of the pop out tree.

Here is santa and the tree 'popped out'

And a top angle shot so you can see how it works.  I backed the bit behind the tree with green holographic card to give some shimmer and added a yellow star to the top of the tree.

Gnome Rock

Hello Nomad friends.    I am elfing out at the new Christmas Kickstart Challenge this month and the theme is Gnomes.  Since Lost Coast Designs have awesome gnomes I used three of them, and since the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity current challenge is rocker cards or add a pop up element I made my gnomey Christmas card rock!!!

I used two tall gnomes and a silly gnome in the middle.  And it rocks.  Which is always fun.  My black card base was stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn ink and Lost Coast Designs Concentric Circles stamp for that drumlin look.

I used a plate to cut along for my curved base and this one doesn't rock quite as crazily as the duck from the other day.

Join the Christmas Kickstart fun with your gnomey christmas cards and it it also rocks or pops and includes real rubber or clear stamping then hop over and jopin the fun at Lost Coast too!!!

Rockin Duck

Hello Portal peeps.  It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal and this card went to Dawn in New Zealand.  Rockin' duck also fits the new Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Rock or Pop Challenge -  include a pop up element or make a rocking card.  I love rocking cards.  These are actually really easy to make.  You can cut a circle, fold it in half and use that as your card base.  Or you can take a tent fold card base and use scissors or dies to cut the bottom edge into a curve.  Then decorate it as you like......

I used Studio Light journal dies to cut the yellow card base and matching green mat, and, just because the die was in this set, I decided to add semi-circular pocket to my project.   I stamped the green panel with green ink and two stamps from Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy set.  I stamped the brown mat on the little pocket with brown ink and Lost Coast Designs Mini Butterfly Collage stamp.  I die cut a scrap of the green card with a grass die and added a bit of promarker scribblings.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Duck on yellow card, coloured his beak and feet and fussy cut.   I was going to put a tea bag in the pocket, but I think they frown on such things in New Zealand, so I added some paper leaves instead.  Hopefully my exchange partner will be able to use them for something crafty.

And when the leaves are taken away you can see the Happy Everything sentiment which is from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.

I hope you take some time to check out all the fun interactive Rock and Pop cards the team are sharing this month, and don't forget to join the fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.
