I've used a white slimline panel and stamped Lost Coast Designs Hearts and Curls Border and Merry Christmas with cobalt archival ink.  I cut around the two hearts at the bottom of the panel and slid a strip of silver glitter paperbehind the two cut hearts.  Then I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Carmen's Veranda Reindeer Doll.  Isn't she cute!!

Snow Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  A little more Christmas for the merry month of July.  I've used CC Designs stamps and decided to try stamping my main image with Sky Blue archival for a little snow on snow effect.  The jury is still out.........

I managed to pick a blue Promarker for the bird that was the same colour as the lines and no line became blob!   I've done my best with a fine black pen to bring him back from the other dimension but he looks a little um.......  Well anyway, I've used the very sweet CC Designs Winter Snowman stamp coloured with Promarkers and a little distress marker shading.  I stamped CC Designs Plaid Background with Sky Blue ink and both panels with stitch dies.  The circle one is from the Works and the square one from Gummiapan.

Ho, Ho, Ho, Licensed To Jingle

Hello Nomad friends.  I felt the need to jingle this morning so I grabbed some DCWV scraps and some Stamplorations Christmas ephemera and three cards were born.

I have a bag of DCWV Pet Stack 8 x 8" scraps cos they are just too nice to throw away.  I selected some strips that weren't too cat/dog orientated and arranged them in an ascetically pleasing manner.  I ended up with a 12 x 20cm panel so I decided to make two small cards using these pretty paper ephemera from Stamplorations.  The sentiments were found in the already stamped bag and added.  Quite like these two cuties.

If you can't zoom, clicking on the pics should make them bigger.

Then this happened........

Again, DCWV paper scraps, but I mixed in an oriental scrap for the plum center piece.  I had this crazy lime/brown dots circle cut so decided to chop it in half and add it either side of the plum rectangle.  Love this cute couple in the car and the sentiment came out of the already stamped bag.

Ways To Fly

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a little inspiration today for the current challenge at Let's Squash It! where we want you to Keep It CAS.  Any embossing folder and a Clean and Simple creation.  I am a big fan of clean and simple and embossing folders can add a real wow to a simple design.  I decided to combine nature and technology and used part of Cuttlebug's Bird Call embossing folder in a slimline format.

I've used a cream DL card base and cut a white panel with Mama Elephant Scallop Stitch Slimline die.  US slimline and A4 sizes are different from european ones, but this die is easy to line up and shorten the panel to make it fit my base.   I stamped Stamplorations plane and sentiment from the Born to Roam set with black archival.  Then I embossed the top part of the Bird Call folder.   Remember, it's easier to stamp first and then emboss......

I hope you get a chance to join our Keep It Simple challenge.

Framed

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 15th of the month so time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we want you to get your jingle on!   Yes, we are joining the Christmas spirit which appears to be suffusing blogland.  It's Christmas in July and the team are rocking it out of the manger so do hop over to the blog and check out the inspiration creations.  I decided to keep it simple, cos as with life, sometimes keeping it simple is good, and I used Carmen's Veranda Snow Cowboy.  Yee haw!!!!!!!

Isn't he adorable!!  I used Lost Coast Designs Small Snowflake set and Salty Ocean distress ink and stamped a sheet of white card.  I used Paper Roses Stitched Rectangle Frame dies to cut it and then I blended more blue ink over the centre panel.  I stamped the Snow Cowboy with black archival on white card, fussy cut and added him to the card.  The Merry Christmas is from Lost Coast Designs Party Words stamp set.

I hope you have time to join the Christmas in July fun if you are working on xmas projects.  We accept any type of project as long as it features the theme and real stamping.

Neigh If You Are Happy

Hello Nomad friends.  Just wanted to share this card I made for the Paper Roses fb Geometric challenge.  I am a big fan of Paper Roses, it's just a little tricky to get hold of their products here in Norway!  But I have a few dies and a few more in my sights LOL.

Being an Australian company they have some lovely different motivs and I love the silhouette dies.  This is Stockman with Cows Border Die and the lattice is from the Stitched Rectangle Frames set.  I added a copper metal charm from Korthobby as a stylised sun.

Power Cut Makes

Hello Nomad friends.  The power was out today for essential maintenance so I did a little colouring.  I used a lovely stamp from PowerPoppy from the Short Stacks set and made a bottle tag.

I used an Avery Elle die to cut the bottle tag.  I stamped the Power Poppy Short Stacks best book ever image and the happy birthday sentiment and coloured with distress inks and my water brush.

Simply Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to keep it Clean and Simple with any embossing folder.  I decided to go Christmas

I used the very lovely Hobby Solutions Let It Snow embossing folder and Just Chillin' stamp from Unity stamps.   I embossed a white card panel with the folder, which is A6 size.  I stamped the snow people on a piece of matching white card and fussy cut the top of the image.  Then I used a Stamplorations Stitched Snowy Hills die to cut the top of the 'snow'.  Since I had a goodly amount of white still below the stamped image I decided to mount on a white DL base for slimline delight.  A little bit of gel pen colour and glitter on the snowmen and done!

Hop over to the Let's Squash It! blog for more CAS inspiration from Jo and our GDT and don't forget to grab your folders and join the fun.

Hello Nomad friends.  It's Friday!!!!!!   Time to kick back and relax for the weekend.  I wanted to play with Zombies again, like you do, and get another entry into the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge.

Bwahahhaahaaaaaa!!!

I used a subtly patterned card from Kort og Godt to make my card base.  Zombie is a Cheery Lynn die and the sentiment is a stamp from DRS.

Happy Birthday from Mona

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy 4th July!  If you are celebrating than have a good one.  Today I have some inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Celebrate It! challenge.  I've gone for a birthday celebration.

For this card I used Lost Coast Designs Mona Flying, ATC Doodle Flowers, large rectangle Shadow Frame and Party Words.   The design was inspired by the current Lift Challenge where they want you to mask an area, blend inks, over stamp and then add a black and white image.  I had an idea to use the large rectangle Shadow Frame, ink it with distress inks, spritz a bit with water and stamp it on my page.  Nice!  But then thinking about masking off to stamp into the inked area I didn't fancy fussy cutting that frilly edge....  So I decided to try stamping the flowers onto the shadow frame stamp and then stamping the shadow frame onto the inked page.

Ooh, pretty!!   Having a stamp platform or stamping tool is really helpful with this technique so you can perfectly over stamp LOL.    I used Spiced Marigold, Worn Lipstick  and Mustard Seed distress inks for the background and Rusty Hinge to stamp the Flowers.

I stamped Mona Flying on white card and fussy cut her and added her to the card.  To finish I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on my inky stamped panel.

Jolly Tags

Hello Nomad friends.  I love July when blogland starts to think seriously about Christmas.  Now, I know some of you have just turned off, or run away.  I know how you feel!  I used to hate to hear or think about Christmas before November.  But I realised that that's too late if I want to make and send my own cards.  And I started finding awesome challenge sites that did Christmas all year, encouraging us to make a card or two a month, and suddenly it's easy to have enough for the big day.  So now I am full on Christmas anytime, and especially July, which is as good a time as any to step up the xmas production.  The good thing is, I do tend to use everything I make each year, so thanks to all those awesome site encouraging me to use my xmas stash.  Scrappegarasjen are having a Christmas in July weekend, or Jul i Juli as we say in Norwegian.  I've been having fun making a few things and hope to make some more before they close the doors at midnight tonight.

They have asked for tags in sets of at least 5 and I was particularly pleased with these red and green beauties.  I cut the tags using a Stamploration stitch die and stamped with Rubber Dance Mixed Media Grid stamp using red ink for that whole tone on tone thing.  The norwegian sentiments are also Rubber Dance, possibly still available by special request.  I found these cool felt trees the other day while rattling through some seldom used drawers, and the ties are funky green velour pipecleaners.  I think they add a certain jolly to the whole set.

It's a bit wet here today, but warm, so I might feel inspired to cool off with some more xmas.

Garden Cat

Hello Nomad friends.   It's the second of the month so time for another awesome and amazing Card Chain Challenge reveal.  The Card Chain Challenge is an international card exchange.  Every month an ever changing group of very talented ladies, and the occasional bloke, make a card, send a card and receive a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone wins.

This is the card I sent to Hilary in the UK.
This month I sort of went with the colours and used the themes of fluffy, funny and friendship.

All stamps are by Rubber Dance.  I started by stamping the cat on some white card and masking.  Then I stamped the pebble stamp from Mixed Media Marks #3 with Bluebird archival ink.  I stamped the curved ladder stamp from Pencil Marks #5 with Dandelion archival above the pebbles.  I actually stamped it three times, but didn't like that I didn't line it up so there were no gaps, so I decided to fussy cut the top of the first ladder and round the cat's head.  The cut offs didn't go to waste cos I used them for my sentiment panel, stamping the perfect friend sentiment from the Adore Me sentiment set.  Then I put it all together on a slimline base with a bit of pretty designer paper behind the cat.  A bit on neon orange gel pen for the eyes and done!

If you are interested in sending and receiving happy mail do check out the Card Chain Challenge

You still have time to SIGN UP for July

A Horse of Course

Hello Nomad friends. Gosh July.  What fun.  Another quick scrappy card.  This one with a cute horse die cut.

I used a brown card base and added a couple of scrap strips top and bottom.  The horse was die cut from a bit of pizza box.  I cut a double tag and stamped a Kort og Godt sentiment on it.  It says 'one must love life to live it and live life to love it'.  Yes!!
