Mermaid Door

Hello.  Welcome.  It's the 15th of the month and time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the theme is Hard As Stone.  We want to see stamped makes featuring architectural elements so buildings, wall, doors, windows, flagstones, bricks, statues, columns etc.  I decided to put a door at the bottom of the sea.

I stamped Carmen's Veranda Small Door on a piece of card and embossed with black powder and cut with Sizzix ATC die.  I coloured with a random mix of Promarkers, Distress ink and Distress Oxides.  I stamped, embossed, coloured and fussy cut some of the rocks from Lost Coast Designs Steampunk Mermaid and added them to the foreground.  Then I found a couple of glittery wheely fish still swimming around on my desk and added them to the scene.

Since it's a door it of course opens and reveals Lost Coast Designs Steampunk Mermaid peering in!!  I stamped the mermaid on a second ATC and after cutting around the door I stuck the two ATC's together.  Then I realised I should have decorated the back of the door so I stamped the Small Door on a piece of tissue paper, coloured it and stuck it to the back of the door.

Thanks for dropping by.  Check out the blog for more fab inspiration and out of the box thinking by the team.  We will be posting inspiration all month so hop over and follow us so you don't miss their amazing makes.   Join up your stamped Hard As Stone makes for a chance to win Lost Coast Dollars!!!   Can't wait to see what you do with this theme!!  Hugz
