We All Need A Friend

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy World Card Making Day.  Hope you are getting some crafty time in.   Lots of fun things happening in blogland today.  Here's a little whimsical entry for The Craft Barn's Q&L Challenge.  This fortnight it was Patience or Better.  Well, I've never had much patience so I went with better

I used a quote by Helen Keller

'Walking with a friend in the dark is better
than walking alone in the light'

Little Hoo Hoo is in total agreement with Helen.  Much better to have a friend on a night like this.  He's not so sure of the light bit, being a bit more of a night owl.

I stamped Stampotique's Little Hoo Hoo and DRS's Spooky Eyes Background and embossed with white embossing powder.  I really need one of those anti-static doo dahs!! It was a nightmare, bwahahahahaha, getting all the excess white powder off the black card.  I wrote my quote with my trusty white gelly roll pen and also added a bit of something for Monster to stand on.  I mounted the panel on a grey pearlised card base.

Fun images and a great illustration of the quote. I have the same problem with EP, tried all the cheap tricks, will eventually give in and buy a doo dah too!

Use cornflower or talcum powder and make your own doo dah :) Love this fun image and all those spooky eyes works so well with the Helen Keller quote x

Those eyes make such a great background for your quote. You can make your own anti static pad with an old sock and cornflour (for light card) or Fullers earth (for dark card). Used tumble dryer sheets are good too!

Excellent idea to use the dark cardstock and I like the bitty the monster is standing on. Excellent quote from an amazing woman :o))

I too would need a friend to hold onto at night with all those eyes staring at me! Such a fun piece.

I'm really late getting here, but I got a laugh out of your little Hoo Hoo. I thought you did a great job getting rid of the excess powder without one of those doo-dahs.

I really enjoyed the way you turned this quote into something spooky with the eyes. That to me was the crowning touch.

Love this fun piece, especially Little hoo hoo. Must admit I just use talc and a make-up brush, smells nice too :-)
