Charlie's Circus

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 8th of the month and I have a Technique Time post over at Let's Squash It! and this month it's all about sanding!    Pop on over and have a read and don't forget to come back on the 10th for the start of the September Let's Squash It! challenge.  That said, I couldn't not use one of the panels I made during my squashy experimenting and I've combined it with some stamps from Carmen's Veranda to supply a bit of Movie Mania inspiration at the same time!   Gotta love a little double bubble!!!!!

I've combined Carmen's Veranda Charlie Chaplin and Cuttlebug circus themed embossing folder to revisit his movie 'The Circus'

I embossed a bronze card slimline panel with the circus themed embossing folder and sanded to expose the black core.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Charlie Chaplin on some grey card with brown ink and fussy cut him.  I straight cut his hat to give a fez look, to match the middle monkey, and added a red tassel.  Then I added the Not My Monkeys sentiment which totally covered up my fez conversion!  Ah, well!!!!!

It's Gonna Get In Your Head

Hello Nomad friends.  Me again with a few more makes from today's megathon.  Like a marathon, only bigger, and less running.   One challenge was to use a background stamp.  Well, my mind immediately went to one of my most favourites stamps....... Shooting Star Background by Lost Coast Designs.

I simply stamped it with Carnation archival on white card, edged with red and mounted on a cream card base also edged with red.  Then I added a little fishtail happy birthday banner.  This stamp always makes me think of The NeverEnding Story, did you just sing that?????   This card will be perfect for Lost Coast Designs Movie Mania challenge!

I also used another background stamp for this simple christmas card.  Another favourite of mine, Hero Arts Splendid Snowflakes

I seem to be in quite a monochrome mood at the moment.  I smeared the hammered card base with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink, added the snowflake stamped panel and the sentiment.

And my final make today.........

I used Rubber Dance heart stamp with grey archival, watercoloured with Worn Lipstick distress ink and cut the panel with a stitch rectangle die.  I stamped Penny Black Cat on white card, coloured the hearts with red sharpies and fussy cut.  Ta dah, love.....

Seas The Day

Hello Nomad friends.   Been having a bit of a crafty weekend.  Hobbygarasjen had a digi scrap meet and the inspiration was flowing.  I was a bit slow getting started but Saturday's UFO's became a number of nice projects today, so I thought I'd share a few with you.   To start with I made a simple card for the many stamp pads challenge.

I've stamped Rubber Dance lobster from the Something Fishy set with archival ink then smeared Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, Spiced Marmalade, Old Paper and Scattered Straw for the background.  Lots of glitter glue and tone on tone with a Carpe Diem stencil to finish the fun.

There's a giveaway in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge.  Pop over and join the fun for a chance to win.

I also made this confirmation card based on the My Favourite Things sketch.

I've used two dies, patterned papers and a stamp by Kort og Godt.  This one was a great use of scraps for the sentiment oval, the ripped bit at her feet and half a circle die cut.   I also made the girl a bit more dimensional by cutting her three times from neutral coloured scraps and then used pink Promarkers to give her a bit more colour.

People Like This

Hello Nomad friends.

I cut a stencil using Gummiapan's Linked Circles die and used it with Salty Ocean oxide ink on the artist trading card bases.  Then I used various Gummiapan people stamps, stamped, fussy cut and added little pops of colour.  I fussy cut santa's body and added some tiny gold sticker leftovers.  Some glitter glue has been used in the making of this project.

Elephant Travels (Updated)

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  Make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone wins!!!!!  I'm still waiting to hear if this has made it's way to Peggy in Maine.  I was a bit slow, sorry Peggy, but you can't rush an elephant you know.....

There are actually a couple of surprises with this card, but I want to leave a bit for Peggy to enjoy first hand, so I will add to this post when I know she has received it.  I've used my favourite Quarto fold and super cute Carmen's Veranda Baby Elephant.  Isn't it adorbs!!!!   The sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes and tropical leaves are Sizzix die cuts from various green scraps.  I used the options of friendship and stamping this month.

Mini Many Cats

Hello Nomad friends.   And a big hello to you to September!  I seem to have missed August a little but I am going to Carpe Diem September til the cows go Moooooo!   Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we have a new challenge and it's Movie Mania!  I made some ATC's using Lost Coast Designs ATC Many Cats and Grunge Cat red rubber stamps.  Grunge Cat comes with a magnificent tail but it missed the cut bwahhhaaahaa.  It's on the cutting room floor!  Bwahhhaaaaaa.

My Artist Trading Cards are based on the movie Cats.  Then I thought, not a movie, only a theatre production.  But teammate Sue assures me it is a movie, the worse one ever made.  Luckily I haven't seen it myself LOL.  I did look it up and supposedly it got the full 6 raspberries.......

I made one with blue ink, one with black ink and one became a rainbow.
