Him Diamond

Hello Nomad Friends.  It's hot, damn hot!!  But it's still July and the Christmas spirit is flowing nicely.  I have made a Rudolf ornament, and it's sooooo cute!  I know it's an ornament, rather than a tag cos I decorated the backside to look exacerly like the front, so as he spins idly on the tree he will be cute from every direction.......  I said to my man 'look, isn't it cute!!'.  He gave me the look!  Not the 'Wow darling, that's amazing, what a fabulous artist you are!' look.  The other one!!  It's July, why are you making Christmas things??  Well, Jul i Juli of course!  We artists are so misunderstood.

Can you feel the bling tonight ♫🎝♬♫♫🎝 OK, it's not night, it's a beautiful sunny HOT day.  Did I mention the heat??

To make a da rudolf I cut two pieces of pizza box and two pieces of Papirdesign Tur I Skogen patterned paper using a bigz reindeer die.  I wanted it to be a sturdy little ornament, hence the double pizza, and the same back and front so two pieces of the patterned paper.

I used these half pearls and snowflake chipboards, also from Papirdesign.  I wanted red pearls so coloured two of the cream ones with Hot Chili promarker.

I used Sunflower promarker to colour the antlers and also go around the edge of my ornament.  I added glitter glue to the antlers and a bit of red ric rak ribbon around his neck.  I stuck the red pearls on his nose and the blingy snowflake on his belly.  Then I thought about a hanger.......  A hole in the head seemed a bit unseasonal so I decided to pierce his ear instead!!  A piece of christmas ribbon and a blingy brad with a little bit of glue for added security and hopefully Rudolf will be hanging around for years.  For the brad on the back I cut off the little leggies and just glued it on his ear over the end of the ribbon.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm off to find a huge ice cream.  Hugz

Cowboy Rock

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you are managing to keep cool.  It's so toastie I think I might be melting.

I used this cute little Nellie Snellen cowboy, stamped and embossed on gold base card.  I coloured with Promarkers and added some rhinestones, one to his hat, one to his scarf and one to the bridle.  I cut the bottom of the card so it rocks, added glitter to the curved edge and horse's mane and tail.  I stamped and embossed MFT Saddle Up and Celebrate sentiment.  Yee haw!!

Warm Weather Gremlins

Hello.  Welcome.  It's hot hot hot!  I ventured into the craft room, and it's hot hot hot there too.  I'm not sure if the gremlins are more active in warm weather or if it was just my brain was less able LOL.  Anyway, decided to make a shaker card using a lovely sketch I saw at The Little Paper Tree fb group.

Squeeeeee!!  So cute.  I hope the little man does get his puppy for his birthday.  Boys and dogs go so well together.  I used My Favourite Things New Best Friend stamp and sentiment.  I stamped the boy/dog on a scrap of white card with black archival and water coloured with distress inks and my waterbrush.  I used some scraps of patterned paper and acetate for the shaker windows.  I used a Bazzill panel on a blue card base.

Brusho's and Foils

Hello.  Welcome.  Today I have a post on the Colourcraft blog where I have made some very, very pretty backgrounds, may I perhaps say stunning backgrounds, using Colourcraft Foils, Brusho powders and water on photo paper.  No glue involved!!!

Not the easiest things to photo with that lovely foil gleaming on the bright jewel-like colours!  Hop over to the Colourcraft blog for all the details and tips.  So pretty!!

I used the blue/green one to make a tag.

The turtle and spiral are Rubber Dance stamps from the new Textured Sea Creatures set.  I used black archival and stamped the spiral directly on the tag.  The Turtle was stamped on grey woodgrain card and fussy cut.  The sentiment, also Rubber Dance from the beautiful words set was stamped on a strip of vellum and added to the bottom of the tag.

At the top I added some pretty wool and also a fun sunglasses and starfish metal charm.  The foil and the bright Brusho colours look stunning in real life.

Brainiack Design Moment

Hello.  Welcome.  A bit grey and wet here today so getting a few projects finished.  Had a hunt through a scrap bag and pulled out all the bits of white card that were big enough to do something with.  Even managed to commit a few scraps to the bin as too small/too scraggly or WFT did you save that for.  But the urge to throw stuff away always passes too quickly.......  Luckily the largest white scrap was big enough to stamp this Christmas themed girl from Unity's Conspiracy of Love set.

I decided this ornament theme patterned paper went well with one girl and her christmas tree.  She comes with a bit of background snow and ground and also a star hanging off the christmas tree.  In the interests of fussy cutting simplicity I just cut her out and was going to restamp to get the details.  Then I had an idea!  Do you ever have an idea and then wonder what you were thinking of??  I decided to line the tree up so it looked like one of the background ornaments was hanging off the tip, and then fussy cut the same ornament from another piece of the paper and put it in front of that oval frame I used.  And in my infinite wisdom I decided the red deer would be a wonderful dangle to use.  Well, yes, very cute, but really, fussy cut nightmare!!!  But very cute, eh??  A detail that is hardly noticeable, but the designer thought it worth the effort.  Just this once!!

So, raspberry card base.  Patterned paper layer cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  Oval frame cut from scrap of white card using Sizzix dies.  White ground cut from scrap of white card using Stamplorations Snowy Stitch Landscape die and embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflake folder.  Unity girl stamped and embossed on scrap of white card, coloured with Promarkers and a liitle bit of glitter glue on her hat and fussy cut.  Done!!

Bunny Tales

Hello.  Welcome.  Needed a quick Thinking of You card.

I used patterned paper from the Works for my background.  I cut with Poppystamps Heart Swoosh die and inset a red card die cut and then cut the heart from red mirror card.  The bunny is from Paperbabes Whimsical Woodland Set 3 stamped with Potting Soil and Black Archival ink on woodgrain paper and fussy cut.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp.

Hot Pink Winter

Hello.  Welcome.  I seem to be swinging between summer and winter at the moment.  Lots of Christmas in July challenges, and that's all good with me for getting the Xmas card stash rebuilt.  I recently got the large version of Stamplorations Gingerbread House and decided it would look perfect in a glittery hot pink landscape.

I made a base card using Kort og Godt red/white stripe patterned card.  I cut Memory Box Starlight Snowflake Collage die twice and backed the cuts with hot pink glitter card.  I used Memory Box Golf Club Landscape die to cut another piece of the pink glitter card.  I stamped Stamplorations large Gingerbread House on kraft card, coloured with white gel pen and Promarkers and fussy cut.
