Rein It Inn

Hello.  Welcome.  Christmas.  Reindeer.  July.  Fireworks.  Christmas in July?

Hmmmmm.  I used Stamplorations Swirly Blooms stencil with distress inks to make my ATC background.  I used clear embossing powder as a resist.  The stamps are from Stamplorations Reindeer Games set.  A little wink of stella for some festive bling.  Merry July!!

Grapes and Flowers

Hello.  Welcome.

Sharing a card made with these lovely Textured Flowers from Rubber Dance.

I stamped and embossed the flowers and cut along the outside edge.  I coloured with three shades of blue distress inks and a red sharpie.

I stamped with Blueprint Sketch distress ink and a chevron stamp from Stamplorations Mixed Media Grunge on the inside of the card so it shows behind the flowers when the card is closed.

The sentiment is from Rubber Dance En Liten Hilsen.  This Norwegian sentiment means Get Well Soon.

Firmly in the Clutches of Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.  I have been thinking outside the box so you may have to just go with me on this idea!  Mojo is jumping up and down and generally driving me to distraction.  Won't knock it, it doesn't happen every day, but I really should be doing other things!!  I console myself in the knowledge that I did clean the kitchen yesterday.  Sorry you missed it..........

Sometimes a challenge theme really grabs my attention.  In this case it's MFP CAS and Picnic.  Also, in case you missed it, there's quite a lot of Christmas in July challenges going on.  So I decided, in his time off, there was the chance that Santa would have a picnic.  Gingerbread men and candy sticks on the menu!!!  And it's not even midnight!!!

I made Santa's picnic rug using some christmas patterned paper and some wierd wool.  I could only find neon green fringe wool but, after thinking about it, I decided that santa probably is saftey conscious.  After driving a load of reindeer about the sky at night you would be wouldn't you?  So maybe he would have a neon fringe on his picnic rug.  The gingerbread man, candy stick and sentiment are from MFP Holiday Tags set.

Thanks for dropping by.  Oooh look, rain!  Maybe the craft room is a good place to be.  Hugz

Fireworks Over Pisa

Hello.  Welcome.

I bought this stamp set for this stamp.  A Leaning Tower of Pisa birthday cake.  How cool is that.  I've gone a bit crazy with the colours and bling, but it's a celebration, so let's go for it.

I stamped the birthday cake and sentiment from the Stamplorations World Birthday Cakes set on my tag, masked, sponged some plumeria ink then used Stamplorations Swirly Blooms stencil and bright distress inks.  Cool.  I made a pennant using patterned paper and twine.  I used a stripey drinking straw across the bottom and also behind the pennant.

Then I blinged all over with the gold glitter glue.  Happy Cake Day!!

English BBQ

Hello.  Welcome.  Spotted this guy in the stash yesterday.  Yesterday's griller looked competent and in control.  This one reminds me of an English barbeque where it takes ages to get it going, everything ends up burnt, and then it rains.  Or maybe it rains first, and everything still ends up burnt.  It's not really an English sport......

I used Gail's tutorial to make my ATC base and embossed with Sizzix Rivet Plate embossing folder.  Love that the texture has transfered to the foil as well.  One space was perfect to stamp and emboss the happy birthday from MFP Tiger set.  My chef and BBQ are from Panduro's Men set coloured with promarkers and distress inks.

Better Engineering

Hello.  Welcome.  I wanted to have another go at the Craft Barn's challenge of dog under the sea.  I wasn't totally happy with the previous submarine design so I had a word with the engineers, found another dog test pilot and here we go.....

I decided on a yellow submarine.  I have been fascinated by the paper piecing going on over at PaperArtsy.  I particularly liked Keren's post where she cut her patterned pieces into hexagons.  I didn't have hexagons so I used Spellbinders Square Swatch dies to cut my pieces.  I selected 3 shades of yellow and embossed them with Sizzix riveted plate embossing folder.  I cut with the Spellbinders die and pieced them back together.  I stamped ODBD Rex and fussy cut him.  I paper pieced the background behind him and added a gold die cut port hole.  I added some coral type die cuts and stamped Dylusions fish on patterned paper.  I fussy cut them and added a tiny die cut hot pink heart to each of them as lips.
