Hark The Herald Angel Origami

Hello.  Welcome.  I've made a simple gift box with some patterned paper from the Works Traditional Christmas pad.

Isn't that gorgeous!!  I just folded and inked the edges with black and it's a very classy box.   Want to see the bonus???

The backside of this paper has this cool reindeer design and it was perfectly placed!!!!  Inside instantly decorated!!!!

I was in two minds (bwahahahahaha) about whether to add anything to the outside, cos I thought it looked quite cool simply as an origami piece, but Mr Mojo suggested a silver mirror card angel.  She looked right at home so we'll go with that.  Angel die from Stamplorations.

Llama Surprize You

Hello Nomad friends.  It was a lovely sunny day.  Cold, a good frost last night, but sunny!!  Fabtastic to see the sun.  Spent a little time topping up my Vitamin D in the garden, until the sun popped behind a cloud and it suddenly felt decidedly chilly.

In the craft room this evening.  Mr Mojo was like a kid in a candy shop.  Oooh, that!  No that!!!  Ooh, let try that!!!  So lots of UFO, that hopefully will come to completion this weekend, and this.

Feeling colourful!  The paper is an ancient scrap.  I used a purple glitter card base.  The llama, party hat and sentiment are from Taylored Expressions Look Who's Talking set.

Fish Eye Eye Eye

Hello Nomad friends.  Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity the current challenge is ATC's.
I love Artist Trading Cards.  It's amazing how much art you can get on these small canvases.

I went arty and had fun with layers and lots of repeat stamping.  That was the last challenge, but why forget a good technique??

I started with a piece of neon yellow card cut to ATC size (2.5" x 3.5").  I stamped and embossed Lost Coast Designs Fruit Pod background with gold tinsel embossing powder.

I took the fish head stamp from Lost Coast Designs Up Close and Personal set and stamped it three times on two scraps of white card.  Then I used a very small die from YNS to perforate the edge and coloured with a black marker so they looked a bit like postage stamps.

I cut a piece of vellum with my ATC die and stamped Lost Coast Designs Freedom Dictionary word twice on each side.  I added it to the atc base and added the fish at an angle.  Whilst doing this I managed to get a inky finger on one of the fish panels so in the spirit of art I added a few more.  I used neon red, orange and yellow gel pens to colour the fish eyes.

Scandi Style High Reindeer

Hello Nomad friends.  The other day I was looking for these dies.  I searched a pile.  Couldn't find em.  Made something else.  Then this morning I moved one piece of paper and there they were!!   I think I heard them laughing!!!!!

I used a cream base card and a piece of ombre brown dotty paper from the Works Vintage Christmas paper stack.  I cut a strip for the edge of the paper, which was darker brown, and cut the deer from the lighter areas.  It's a Gummiapan die set called Hoega Renar, Swedish for Tall Reindeer.  The God Jul, Norwegian for Merry Christmas, is a wood embellishment from PapirDesign.   I love these odd deer and I love the natural brown wood shades.

Abstract Art with Brusho's and Acrylic Paint and a GIVEAWAY

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a little abstract art project using Brusho's and acrylic paint over on the Colourcraft blog today.  Maybe it's the card maker in me that seems to feel it has to have a sentiment or image to be complete, but this one sang to my soul and I'm leaving it just the way it is!!!

I used lots of Brusho colours and black, bronze and pearl acrylic paint, Carmen's Veranda Dice background and Lost Coast Designs Drips background stamps.  I'm sharing a fun tip on how to use Brusho's to colour your paint and also news of a Brusho Giveaway.  Brusho's have been in production for 42 years!!  How awesome is that!!??  Colourcraft have a giveaway, but do hurry, it closes soon.

We Three Gnomes Say Hi

Hello.  Welcome.  It's almost time for the February Card Chain Challenge reveal.  I have a few things happening on my blog tomorrow so I decided to get a bit of a jump on the festivities.  In case you don't know the Card Chain Challenge is an international card exchange.  You make a card, you send a card, you get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone wins!!!    If you like making cards, like sending cards, like getting cards, then maybe you should check it out.  Maybe you would get a cute card like this one!  Well, not this one, cos this one went to Greta in Oregan.  Hi Greta.

There are a number of options to choose from when you make your CCC card.  I went with the colours, and friendship, cos they look like close friends, and watercolouring!!!  The Lost Coast Designs Three Gnomes are stamped on grey woodgrain paper, partially fussy cut and I added a little pink watercolour to noses and lips.  I used a mottled blue card base and cut a navy and pink layer with Gummiapan Postage and Waffle Flower HI dies.

If you would like to join the Card Chain Challenge the
March Sign Up is open until 6th March.
The reveal of all the cards exchanged in February will go live at 10am my time.  Go check it out.
The cards are really awesome.

When I Grow Up I Want To Be Tall

Hello Nomad friends.   I am liking the Tall cue word at CASology so I made a card for my nephew who has a birthday soon.

I used a red foil base card and a piece of sun ray patterned paper.   I stamped PaperArtsy Zini36 and coloured with Promarkers.  Then I stole him some legs from Unity Just a Boy stamp!!!  I stamped the vertical Happy Birthday from Lost Coast Designs Party Words.
