Heartbeat of a Rainbow

Hello.  Welcome.  The Twofer challenge theme is up and it grabbed Mr Mojo's attention, which is quite an achievement at the moment I can tell you!!  Trees.  Ready, set, craft!!!!

OK, two cards using the same die or stamp in line with the theme, for two different occasions, in two different styles.  I used Memory Box Frosted Christmas Tree
Is Mr Mojo hot, or wot!!
Entering the pair into the Twofer Card Challenge #6 - Trees

Memory Box have a rainbow theme this month so I thought it would be fun to make my tree rainbow colours.  Then I thought the tree was an interesting shape and two trees, top to top on their sides, a geometric delight.  I decided to use the Rubber Dance sentiment Don't Let Anyone Ever Dull Your Sparkle and added glitter glue to my trees to reinforce the sparkle bit.  I was going to go with a more subdued background but this piece of patterned paper waved at me in an enthusiastical manner.  Bright on bright, an encouragement card with attitude.

For my second card I was inspired by trees and wood and using a woodgrain stamp as a background that I saw over on the Winnie and Walter blog.  I took a scrap of textured pink card and stamped with Picked Raspberry DOx and Winnie and Walter's Mini Scenery Marbleize stamp.   Well, I think it looks a bit woodgrainy!!  No worries about the messy joints cos when I added the tree magic happened........

I did use a bit of ink that was still on the marbleize stamp to make the 'horizon' a bit more solid.  I cut the stamped panel with Sizzix Deckle Edge die.  I cut the Memory Box tree from white card, embossed it and added irridecent glitter glue to the embossed areas.  Then I mounted it on a raspberry pink base that I cut with Stamplorations Crazy Double Stitch rectangle die.  I think this makes a very respectable alternative christmas card.

The One That Got Away

Hello.  Welcome.  For my birthday I received lots and lots of handmade cards from my crafty friends all around the world, so big HUGZ to everyone who sent me happy mail.  Some of these had little gifts as well and this lovely You Lift Me Up Flopsey stamp came winging it's way in from my friend Janis.  Hi Janis.  This is an MFT stamp, so I hopped over to see what fun was to be found on their blog.  They have a colour challenge and a weekly sketch, so I did this..........

I stamped the bunny on some rose patterned paper, fussy cut a bit round his ear and balloons and cut my tag with Stamplorations medium luggage tag die. I coloured the bunny with Dried Marigold distress ink and the balloons with blue Promarkers.  The bunny worked fine, but the background colours made the balloon colours look muddy, so I stamped the balloons on a scrap of white card, coloured, fussy cut and stuck them on.  I was going to put the tag on a circle patterned background, but it didn't look right so I had this idea to use the same rose paper!  I lined up the tag to match the background pattern and cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.  I used some blue scraps for the sentiment banner using the 'for you' from the bunny set and mounted on a blue base card.  It looked a bit bare so I added a bit of natural colour lace and a balloon brad with a bit of cotton attached.

Incomprehensible

Hello.  Welcome.  Been meaning to make a baby card of the same style I made the other day and have realised that the reason I don't bulk make, other than the boredom factor, is that I am incapable of following instruction!!  Somebody asked me how long that 10 minute card really took.  Well, it really took 10 minutes.  This one?  Basically the same card.  Ages!!!  And a couple of right offs!!!  Mr Mojo must be sunbathing!!!  Or eating ice cream with his feet dangling in cool crystal clear water...........  Lucky Mr Mojo!

So I cased myself, just altering the colours slightly.  This baby is a brunette.  I used a blue base card.  The same Sizzix Deckle Edge die for the main panel and Stamp Oasis I'm Here is stamped with brown archival and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is an amalgamation from a couple of Stamplorations sets.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm off to do a bit of weeding and see if Mr Random has left an ice creams lying around.  Hugz

Eureka!!

Hello.  Welcome.  This is one of those mythical '10 minute' cards.  I am usually a very slow crafter.  And messy!  A messy crafter who loves CAS!  Hmmmm, the perfect combo me thinks bwahahahahaa.  Anyway, true to form I spotted this stamp and got distracted, but oh, how sweet, and just perfect for a birthday happy........

OK, cut panel using Sizzix Deckle Edge die and edge with Mustard Seed distress ink.  Stamp Stamp Oasis I'm Here with Potting Soil Archival and colour with Promarkers.  Stamp the Stamplorations sentiment with London Fog distress ink and mount panel on a gold base card.  Done!!  Love this happy little chappie!

Time For Lion Around

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling very CAS in this heat.   I have inked up a couple of Magnolia Mini World stamps I bought for my birthday at a very reasonable price from Swedish House Crafts.  I just couldn't resist this little lion and I decided to combine him with the little country scene.  It has a church, which I covered with a lion.  Or actually, masked out, since the lion got stamped first.

I cut a panel and my card base with Gummiapan Stitched Square dies.  I stamped the lion, masked and stamped the background.  I coloured with Promarkers and then stamped the Stamploration sentiment.  I used Potting Soil archival to stamp the lion and scene and London Fog for the sentiment.

Isn't he just adorable!!!

Sing, Play, Muse

Hello.  Welcome.  New challenges all over and at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are going small!  For the Mini Me challenge we want to see ATC's, Moos, Tags, Bookmarks, Mini books, etc. etc. etc.  Anything small, but no cards please.  I decided to go with my new love, Artist Trading Coins!!!
2 1/2 inches of all round fun.

I used some background scraps that I stamped the other day and cut them with Sizzix circle die.  The backgrounds are yellow card stamped using Tangerine chalk and Lost Coast Designs Shooting Star background.  I edged the circles with black archival and also used it to grunge them up a bit.  I stamped the Carmen's Veranda Words, also using black archival, and stamped three of the girls from Lost Coast Designs Mini Manga set with  Versamark ink, embossed with Wow black embossing powder and fussy cut .  Here's some close ups.......

Do hop over to the Portal and check out the other fabulous inspiration from the team, and link up your mini stamped makes for a chance to win Lost Coast Dollars!  The more players the bigger the prize!!  See you there.  Hugz

The Look of Innocence

Hello.  Welcome.  June, and here in my corner of Norway the heat wave continues.  I'm melting, I'm melting!!  The colours for the Rubber Dance challenge this month have me thinking of cool blue lagoons and beaches, although I should think anyone on the beach is doing the gekko dance.........  I made a project inspired by our cat doing what cats do.

Looks a bit like our cat.  And there have been a few suspicious puddles of feathers around the garden, but I don't complain if it's a mouse!!

I started with a base card from Taylored Expressions in a colour called Cookie Monster.  Ooops, that fits the perpetrator perfectly!!  I stamped one of the feathers from Rubber Dance Textured Feathers using masks and Dare 2 B Artsy Midnight Blue dye ink.  I also edged the card with the midnight blue ink making it extra smudgy here and there.  I stamped all over with the words Little Birdie using Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube white ink.  It is readable, but has more a textural role.  Then I decided it needed a bit more so I added some orange and white splatts!

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut Curious Cat and coloured with distress inks and some white gel pen highlights.  I was going to add a sentiment but decided to just let the picture say it's own words!!  Might add one later when the occasion arises.  Actually, these colours are perfect for a masculine make aren't they!!

The Rubber Dance challenge runs until the end of the month. You can use the colours and/or make a tag.  Don't forget if you are shopping at Rubber Dance you can get free worldwide shipping with my code GTFreeShip when you spend over €15!
