Growing In Unity - Day 1

Hello.  Welcome.  This week I am very pleased and excited to be Growing in Unity!!  This means that everyday this week I will be sharing a project featuring Unity stamps.  It also means that there is a chance for you to win a Unity Stamp Company Grab Bag !!  I have two to give away!!  All you need to do is leave a comment on each of my posts this week and on Monday I will draw two lucky winners.  So don't forget to leave a comment before you hop off!!  Here's my card for today.....

Keeping it simple and using stamps from Unity Never Be Afraid kit.   I started with a white base card.  I smeared some Mustard Seed distress ink on my craft mat, spritzed with water and pressed my card into the ink drops.  I did this until I had a pleasing array of splodges.  Have a cup of tea while it dries.  Or maybe coffee is your thing.  Then I decided to try something new.  I stamped the flower image with Iced Spruce distress ink.  Then I coloured with Promarkers.  I tried this out on a piece of scrap card first, cos I wasn't sure how this would go, but it worked perfectly.  The promarkers are semi-translucent so the distress ink shows through but no bleed!  Fab.  I stamped the sentiment with black archival.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment and I'll be back tomorrow with more Unity inspiration.  Also the Unity Stamp Company is celebrating it's 10th birthday and there is a massive sale!  Massive!!  Everything is on sale!!!  Hop over and check it out.  Hugz

April CCC Reveal - Bunny Hop Post 10

Hello.  Welcome.  The April Card Chain Challenge reveal has been published.  Wow, the ladies of the card chain challenge continue to knock to out of the park!  Spreading love around the world one card at a time.  Actually, this month there have been a few extra cards, cos I have received quite a few this month due to me getting older!!  Thank you so much to all the lovely ladies who have sent me birthday greetings, and to everyone who has linked up to my bunny birthday hop.  Still a couple of days to get your bunny makes in.  There be carats!!

This is the card I sent to Dawn in New Zealand.

I used the sketch, the colours and the rabbit!
Gotta have a rabbit!!!!

I made my background using tone on tone embossing on orange and green brusho coloured paper and Rubber Dance La Mappe stamp.  I cut the panels with stitched square dies.

I die cut a white circle, smudged some Mowed Lawn distress ink at the bottom and edge the rest of the circle with Spiced Marmalade distress.  I cut the Die-namites Spring Bunny die from brown fluffy stuff and white card, coloured the flowers with Promarkers and pieced them back in.  I took one of the hello's from Poppystamp Hello background die.

Hop over to the Card Chain Challenge and check out the amazing reveal.

Sunshine in the Orient

Hello.  Welcome.  Don't you just love the first of the month??  New challenges springing up all over the blogosphere.  Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we want to see Orange and Yellow.  Now isn't that gonna be pretty?!!  Those bright beautiful hot colours after the long grey, or in many cases white, spring that a lot of folk have had.  So come on, grab your stamps and your orange and yellow crayons and make yourself a bit of sunshine!!

Here's my idea for a hot start to spring using
Lost Coast Designs Oriental Doll

I stamped and embossed Oriental Doll on a piece of yellow card then paper pieced her by stamping and embossing orange and yellow scraps and fussy cutting them.  I used gold metal pieces for her face and wings.  I cut the yellow panel and an orange layer with Sizzix Deckle Edge dies and mounted it all on a yellow Bazzill Dots base card which I smeared with Spiced Marmalade distress ink.

Hop on over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for more Orange and Yellow inspiration from the team and the linky.  Join the fun and win Lost Coast dollars.  See you there!!

Heavy Metal Shrooms

Hello.  Welcome.  A new challenge at Rubber Dance and it's the colours dark red, lime green and violet and/or the theme of Metal.  I decided to stamp and emboss on a piece of gold metal.

I used Rubber Dance Funny Fungi and La Mappe stamps

I stamped La Mappe and embossed with gold powder then stamped the mushrooms and embossed with black powder.  They were a few gaps so I went over them with a black Promarker.  Then I coloured the mushrooms with Promarkers.  Darker colours worked best.

I placed the metal panel on an old mouse mat and used a stylus to pattern the border with dots and spirals.  I mounted the metal panel on a bronze card base.

The Rubber Dance challenge runs until the end of the month. You can use the colours and/or use metal.  Don't forget if you are shopping at Rubber Dance you can get free worldwide shipping with my code GTFreeShip when you spend over €15!
Also, I have extended the linky for my bunny hop and Rubber Dance is one of my fabtastic sponsors so don't forget to check out my bunny hop posts and link up for your chance to win.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
