May Rudolf Days

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the end of the month again!!  Already??!!  I do like to join Mo's Rudolf Days challenge so I had a rattle through the scraps and stamped images and came up with this cute snowangel snowman by Unity Stamps.

I stamped and embossed with white powder then smudged some blue ink and cut out the circle.  I added a ring of white lace and found a pretty edged scrap of green which I embossed with a confetti embossing folder.  The lovely red tree paper had a hole in it which my topper covered perfectly!  A Lost Coast Designs Happy Christmas stamp and mount on a green card base to finish.

Friends Are Golden

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  It's extra long here so I am hoping the warm weather returns so we can enjoy some garden time.

I used a Kort og Godt patterned card base and cut Memory Bod Leafy Tree Frame from green card.  I added some yellow scraps cut into triangles inside the inner frame and stamped the bird from Poppystamps Christmas Friends set.  I coloured the bird and tree with Promarkers.  I offset the frames and added some vellum triangles and a piece of bird patterned paper behind the inner frame.   The sentiment says Good friends are worth gold.

Some Of My Favourite Things

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are having a splendiferous day.  Weather report from Norway; sunny spells and a very cold wind.  I was potting up tomato plants in the greenhouse when I had that missing out feeling.  Challenges closing soon, so I decided to gathers some scraps and use a new to me Gorjuss stamp and use the Lift Challenge recipe.

The pink scrap is a sheet I've been chopping bits off of recently.  It has some nice elements and glitter highlights which is why the clocks look so blingy.  The girl does look like she has big ears Grandma, but she is wearing headphones.  Probably easier to recognise when there is colour involved but I am embracing the black and white image idea whole heartedly this month.

Thanks for dropping by.  Take care.  Hugz

My Spirit Animal

Hello Nomad friends.  I took part in the Visible Image May Royal Purple ATC exchange.  My ATC went to Kathy in California and I just had to use my spirit animal - White Rabbit!!!

For my ATC base I used a piece of card that was painted with purple Aztec pearlescent paint.  I stamped Visible Image T-Shirt on white card and then stamped White Rabbit onto the t-shirt and fussy cut.  I watercoloured the t-shirt with distress inks and my waterbrush with bling.  Got a bit of bleed of my ink and decided to blob some extra watercolour in places for a tie-dye look.  I coloured white rabbit with distress markers and also some sharpie markers for the royal purple, gold and silver and used the gold sharpie around the ATC edge.

I also sent a tie-dye style card using the white rabbit stamp set.

A Woman Has The Right To Change Her Mind

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I have some more inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Woman challenge.  I actually stamped a lot of different women before I decided to use the lovely Lost Coast Designs Geisha and combine her with this fun Carmen's Veranda Power of Coffee sentiment.

I stamped Geisha on white card with black ink and fussy cut her.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Concentric Circles Background with Ocean ink on white card and stamped the Power of Coffee sentiment with black ink.   About this time I realised I was again missing a chance to enter the Lift Challenge, so I added a couple of colour blocks using some scrap paper and then added the geisha.

I hope you get time to join the fun.  Include any stamped woman on your project for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.

The Cat Has Plans

Hello Nomad friends.  I am joining the Rubber Dance team today to share some mid-month inspiration.  I recently bought some linen covered notebooks and thought it would be fun to dress one up with a cat theme featuring Rubber Dance's lovely Curious Cat

Here's the notebook I started with.

I smudged the edges of the cover with versafine ink and gold embossed for some subtle shimmer.  Then I used a Sepia archival ink pad to add some extra definition to the embossed edges.

I cut a piece of yellow vellum, embossed with a sizzix hearts folder and then heat embossed the deges with Emerald Creek Dirty Sand embossing powder.  The black cat panel is Paper Boutique die cut and I used Waffle Flower alpha dies for the letters.  I used a sheet of card I had used for a Brusho background mop up and stamped and black embossed the Cat and the Adore Me sentiment.

I hope you feel inspired to get out your stamps and create something today.   If you are using Rubber Dance stamps join the fun and link up your makes in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge, or on Instagram using #rubberdancemoodboard and tag us @rubberdance in your post, for a chance to win a €10 to the shop.

Old Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  How is your weekend going.  UK peeps hopefully enjoyed the coronation festivities and an extra holiday tomorrow you lucky pepole.  OMG!  I've caught dyslexia!!!  Actually, the inability to spell people is causing major anxiety.  At least I am still OK with all those important X words!!!  Xcelent, Xcel, boX Xcetera.    Yep, too much sun obviously.  But I did make these awesomly cute ATC's!!!!

Look at these oldies!!!  So cute!!!!!  I won these MFT Old Friends stamps and dies over at the Snippet's Playground a while ago and this is their first day out.  Next week the beach!!!   So cute!!!  Ooops, repeating myself!  Signs of Oldiness creeping in!!  Yeah, so, cut your ATC bases from patterned card and blend a bit of ink through a Spiderweb stencil.  I thought cobwebs was a fun touch, or is it just me??  Stamp, colour and die cut your oldies.  Stamp some old Friends sentiments and the middle sentiment comes from MFT leopard set.

Christmas Angel

Hello Nomad friends.  I seem to be having a bit of a Christmas splurge.  Must be the sunshine today!!  Makes me miss the snow..... NOT!!!!  Anyway, today I have some more Paper Piecing fun for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge.   A friend commented that she didn't like fussy cutting unless it was big bits.  Big bits is fine.  There are some nice big bits on this lovely Lost Coast Designs Christmas Angel with Halo stamp and I really had fun paper piecing this one.

I gold embossed the red bit for the frame and used tone on tone stamping for the pieces on plain scraps of card.

Strangely Revealing

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  Make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone is a winner!!!   Many options are available every month to inspire your card.  You can use as many as you want, as long as you use at least one.  Here's my card that winged it's way to Carol in the UK........

I went with the colours, spring, umbrellas, friendship and paper piecing.   Umbrella Man never looked so colourful!!   I used a DCWV printed card base which has lots of spring rain shower type words on it.  I raided my die cut shapes for lots of circles in all sorts of colours and used some colourful scraps on my die cut man.  A little stamped flower and keep shining sentiment to finish.

An Interesting Experiment with Stamping

Hello Nomad friends.  Tis the merry month of May!!!!   Well, the calendar says that but mother nature still seems to be clinging to winter.  It's not warm and the brave spring flowers are looking a little battered, but we live in hope that the wind will turn and spring will bounce in.  Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we want you to play with Paper Piecing.  Now I am a fussy cutting fan, so this is right up my alley.  It also gives me great expectations of conquering scrap mountain.  Well, at least a scrap hillock.  Here's my card using Lost Coast Designs wonderful Dark Girl Geisha

I stamped Dark Girl Geisha on various scraps and snipped away until I had a nice collection of bits to piece together.

I found some narrow strips in shades of yellow, orange and gold, pieced them together and stamped with Lost Coast Designs Concentric Circle Background and dandelion archival ink.  It stamped quite well actually, even on the pearlescent embossed bit.   Emboldened, I stamped the Carmen's Veranda sentiment and added my paper pieced girl.

Join the paper piecing fun with your stamped anythings for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.
