Kitty Kisses

Hello Nomad friends.  We have had some thunder. lightning and rain so the temperatures have come down to a cool 21°C!!!  A little reminder for you all that today is the last day to comment on the Card Chain Challenge 3000 cards blog hop.

There are some fabulous sponsors and also some other games on the blog.  If you haven't checked out all the poetry for Game 3 then I highly recommend it.  If you are feeling poetic then add your own for a chance to win a fun stamp prize from Lost Coast Designs.  Open to everyone......

Since it cooled down a bit Mr Mojo raised his head and asked 'Is it Christmas yet'??  Well, no, but it is Rudolf days!! which is almost the same thing, so here we go, with additional inspiration supplied by a number of other fab challenges...........

I used a MFT sketch, a Winnie and Walter round tag die, a crazy cat was sent by my friend Cat in Maryland, thanks Cat, and a die cut santa hat.  The Mistletoe is a Thirsty Brush Company stamp which I won over at the ABC Christmas challenge.  I used a patterned card base and various scraps.

I don't usually decorate inside but...... I wanted to use the fun Meet Me Under the Mistletoe sentiment.  The patterned card base was too pretty to totally cover so I cut a smaller insert from green paper with a fancy die and stamped the large mistletoe and the sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

CCC 3000 Card Celebration Game 2

Hello Nomad friends.  Hmmm, game 2 is your favourite CCC card you have sent.  I have so many favourites!!!!  So I decided to pick one for each year I have participated.....

Looking at all my CCC cards it seems that generally I like bright colours and animals.

2020 May to Mia in Greece

This one took like 2 months to get to Mia.  We think he walked it......... That llama cracks me up and the Blue Knight background is gorgeous.   Modest aren't I ROFL

2019 April to Lorraine in the UK
All dies.  Loved the kinda desert background and this beautiful bold cat.  I believe scrap mountain took a big hit for this one.....

2018 June to Karen in California
CAS and lots of pen work, which was a bit novel for me, but I loved the result.  Wot no animals!

2017 September to Katie in Georgia

I thought the themes of Pirates and Jungle a fun combination and went a bit crazy with the flower die cuts.  Quite a fussy card for me but I seem to remember having great fun putting this one together.

2016 September to Anita in Norway
Bwahhaahahaaaaaa.

2015 November to Julie in Ireland
Cute chair shaped card.

2014 October to Dagmar in Germany
Bootastic kitty!!

Hope you've enjoyed seeing a few of my card chain challenge cards.

CCC 3000 Card Celebration Game 1

Hello Nomad friends.  Have you seen the celebration over at the Card Chain Challenge??
Since Deborah set up the first sign up in September 2009, with the first reveal in October 2009, over 3000 cards have been exchanged by card makers all over the world.  We are celebrating this amazing accomplishment with a BLOG HOP (comment for a chance to win awesome prizes from our sponsors) and gamesGame 1 is to share the first CCC card you sent so here's mine, sent in January 2014 to Greta in Oregon.  Hi Greta.

I sent this cutie colour explosion to Greta and recieved my first card from Jo.  Actually I got two from Jo, cos the first one she sent went the wrong way around the planet and we assumed that it was lost.  She sent me a second one, which arrived in a few days, and then a little while later the first one limped in from wherever it had been hiding.  So my first month I was double blessed!!

I am pleased to say I have never missed an exchange since and am proud to be a link in this chain of amazing crafty ladies.
In 2016 I briefly hosted the Card Chain Challenge on this blog before agreeing with Deborah to give it it's own blog.
I recruited Jo to work with me behind the scenes to keep it all running smoothly.  It's thanks to Jo that it's all goes out on time and continues to run.  She is my wing buddy.  Thanks Jo.

I'd also like to say a big huge thank you to the ladies who sign up month after month and the little notes you send us reminding us that this is a very unique card exchange, raising our spirits and making our CCC community a very very special one.

If you have never participated then this month is an excellent time to give it a go.
If you have participated in the past then it would be lovely to see you back with us.
The July Sign Up is open until the 6th July.
You can comment on the blog hop and participate in the games until 28th June.

Happy Dice

Hello Nomad friends.  The heat wave continues.  It's toasty!!!!  A new challenge started at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity yesterday called Background Forward.  We want you to use background stamps, or stamp a background, and make it the star of your project.  Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda both have some awesome background stamps.  I used Carmen's Veranda Dice Background and went with happy colours.

I stamped the Dice Background and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I coloured the dice with distress markers and spritzed with water.  The Don't Worry Be Happy sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.  Good advice in these crazy strange times!!

Join the Background Forward challenge for a chance to win Lost Coast Dollars!!  The team is posting some amazing inspiration on the blog so hop over and check it out.

Thanks for dropping by.  Keep safe and well.  Hugz

3000°C in the Shade

Hello Nomad friends.  It's hot!  Damn hot!!!  Even my colouring is challenged!!!  When you start to drip on your distress markers you know you need to get out of the craft room!!  But first, keeping it Clean and Simple, a bear, in the woods, looking into the meadow........

I used Poppystamps House in the Woods die to cut the fancy aperture in my card base.  I have used this die a lot, but the house is rarely seen.  It's such a pretty woodland, and I love that it just cuts the negative bits out.

I found a couple of scraps on my desk and stamped the bear and heart from Poppystamps Love Note set.  I coloured one bear with distress markers and fussy cut it and one of the hearts.  I tuck the rest back in the stamp set for another day......

The little house was showing behind the bear so I cut it off.  I decided to do a northern lights background, and then decided it was too hot and I'd just use this fun patterned paper Susanne sent me.  It's full of night skies, galaxy's and bright patterns.

Rambling Gnome

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made a simple birthday card for a rambling man.  Many Norwegians have facial hair and this guy just makes me smile........

This is Lost Coast Designs Sunglasses Gnome stamped on a deckle edge panel and coloured with Promrokers and Distress markers.  I used a pale blue base card and stamped Lost Coast Designs Crackle Background on a scrap of medium blue card.  The words are from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.

Stressed Lettuce

Hello Nomad Friends.  My salad plants are bolting!!  Confused and stressed by hot, cold, dry sunny weather in May, but they make a nice bouquet don't you think????

Tasty and pretty.  The butterflies seem a bit slow off the mark luckily so, despite the flowers they are looking pretty fine.  Now we have had some rain so hopefully they will feel less stressed.

I've made a get well butterfly card using a gold coloured aluminium sheet that I embossed with a Sizzix floral folder and Rubber Dance Grungy Butterfly and Just A Note (Norwegian words) both stamped on a scrap of splatty watercolour paper I found on scrap mountain.  I backed the sentiment with a black scrap.  More details over on the Rubber Dance blog.  There's some lovely stamps on sale at Rubber Dance right now with up to 50% off!!!!  Just saying........

Card Chain Challenge Reveal and 3000 Cards Blog Hop

Hello Nomad friends.  Today is the day for the Card Chain Challenge May Reveal.  24 cards went whizzing around the planet in May spreading joy and love,   And that means that since it was started by Deborah Nolan, way back when, that 3000 cards have been sent and received!!!  Wow, sounds like a cause for celebration!!

So we are gonna have a hop, there will be prizes.  More details will be revealed later in the month on the Card Chain Challenge blog, along with more games and chances to win.   Gotta keep you interested, and also I'm an eleventh hour sort of girl, which is probably why I forgot to press the publish button and am late to my own hop!!!!!!  Bwahahhhaaaaahaaahahaa.

I sent this card to Linda in Minnesota.  There are scary things happening there at the moment so I'm thinking of you and hoping you keep safe.

I used the sketch and colours, repeat on the butterflies, and the sticker options.  I used washi tape at the top and bottom of my cream card.  The lady is a vintage image from Kort of Godt.  She was going to be a bathing beauty, but I tried a bit of colour tinting and she had to go and lie down due to a terminal case of sun burn.   So I picked this elegantly cool lady instead.  The butterflies were cut from another of these vintage collections and a goldline sticker to finish.

If you'd like to join the fun and games then hop over to the Card Chain Challenge blog.

If you'd like to join the card sending then the June sign up is open until the 6th June.

Walking With a Llama in Europe

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy June!!!  I take part in an international card exchange every month called the Card Chain Challenge.  As you can appreciate this too has been impacted by the current situation.  Mail just ain't flying like it used to!!!!   Here's a card I sent to Mia in Greece for the March exchange.  Yes, that's right!  March.  I do believe the llama walked it!!!!!!  Glad he finally made it and I can share, cos he is rather adorbs.

I've used Blue Knight Silhouette Forest stamp for the background, used a distress ink watercolour wash for the sky, distress markers for the field and the Llama is by Taylored Expressions, stamped and fussy cut.  So cool.  The hello is from Stamplorations Skinny Sentiments die set.  I'm so glad llama finally made it through.
