He Said She Said

Hello.  Welcome.  My niece was here the other day and spotted a stamp in my stash.  Said it would make a perfect card for her dad cos he used to be a diver and he used to wear this kit.  The current VLVS challenge worked perfectly with the sea theme and the gorgeous blues and warm orange.

I stamped the divers and masked.  Then I stamped the admit ticket behind them.  I liked it so much I stamped it all over the background, masking as I went, using pale blue dye ink.  Then I sponged on Spiced Marmalade, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet distress inks.  I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and then decided it needed a border.  I used a versamark pad to smudge around the panel and then embossed with dark blue powder.  Then I stamped the sentiment.  All stamps are VLVS.

A Round Of Stars

Hello.  Welcome.  Well the month has whizzed away and here's another card inspired by Cornelia's cards at Muse Christmas Visions.  This one was inspired by her wreath card.

I used a Marianne Design die for my wreath and paper pieced it with green and gold card.  Then I cut Stamplorations Merry Christmas die 3 times, once from dark green and twice from pale green card.  I stuck them together slightly offset to give the highlight.

Broken, Still Beautiful

Hello.  Welcome.   Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are doing a three day blitz of inspiration for the Tip Your Hat event.  We want to see your stamped anythings, with hats.  Anything hatty goes.  So get your hat on and hop on over.  You can link up until Midnight 14th September.  Here's Flying Egyptian wearing traditional headgear.

I used Lost Coast Designs Flying Egyptian and the sentiment is Carmen Veranda's Broken Look Beautiful.

I started by stamping Flying Egyptian with Potting Soil archival ink.  She comes with the hieroglyphs stone behind her.  Then I used the stamp off block to randomly stamp more of the hieroglyph image to fill in the space around my image.  I stamped the sentiment.  Ooops.  Sort that out later LOL

I masked the lady and smudged Tea Dye distress ink around and also edged the panel.

I coloured the lady with distress inks and stamped and black embossed the sentiment on vellum.  I ripped the edges of the vellum and added gold embossing powder.  The end

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope to see you and anything with a hat over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  Hugz

Home, Home On The Range For Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.  De Egel have a challenge of farmhouse/ranch and I just had to wheel out Cowboy Snowman.  Yee Haw Ho Ho Ho

This stamp, from DRS, is just the perfect size for an ATC.  I only had to extend the fence a couple on mm to fill the space.  I coloured with a distress ink wash for the sky, snow and barn and then used neon gel pens and ink joy pens for the snowman.  This is such a cool stamp.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Moove It, Moove It!

Hello.  Welcome.  A new event starting over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we want to see HATS!!   That's easy isn't it??  Anything with a hat.  Hats on heads, hats on cats, cats in hats, hats in the background, foreground, or in the air.  Anything stamped and don't forget to leave your hat on.  Here's a little inspiration

This is Carmen Cow from Carmen's Veranda on an ATC that I embossed with Sizzix Texture Trades Playing Game set bingo card.  So, obviously, a basket of fruit makes an excellent hat!!  A bit of extra lettuce round your bikini and some glitter and you're ready to rock and roll.  Hop on over to the Portal for more inspiration from the team, link up your stamped anythings and don't forget the hat.

Whale Song

Hello.  Welcome.  I made a card for a friend.

I did a watercolour wash with blue and green distress inks and cut Memory Box Tiny Bubbles die many times.  This is a two part die so I found a piece of greeny packaging in the scraps box to cut the back piece and then some strips of blue card, also scraps, to cut the bubble detail, and stuck them together.  Then I added them all over the card.  I stamped embossed and coloured the Rubber Dance whale, also with distress inks and some white gel pen highlights.  The Rubber Dance sentiment is stamped on vellum and I used Memory Box Lisette Buckle to attatch it to the card.

Tiny Book of You

Hello.  Welcome.  I had a plan to join the PaperArtsy challenges this term, but it's Sunday afternoon and it's Books, which ain't really something I do.  But this week something happened and I decided I would try and make a Little Book.  That's what I call those books you fold from a single piece of A4 paper.  I have made a couple in the past and I always give them away.  So today I thought I'd make one of those, but go tiny!!

OK, so here's my finished folded book.  Yep, tiny!!  It's 3 x 4.5cm.  Now, for such a small thing there are a lot of photos!  I'll try not to talk too much.

I used a piece of handmade paper and texture paste through a Stamplorations stencil inspired by the stenciling and round forms Anneke used in her art journal.  I folded once horizontally and twice vertically and then cut along the middle line, folded and glued to give the above little book.  Then I decorated it for friend.

All stamps are from Rubber Dance Just A Note set, stamped and embossed with black powder on paper coloured with red brusho and ripped to show the white edge.  Then I added pale blue die cut Memory Box Tiny Bubbles.   I ripped the heart from the same paper and added a faux stitch edge.  This book is a reflection on things broken and I haven't made it to or expect it to last forever.  All things are transitory and some things are best experienced and discarded.  But sometimes it's nice to know somebody noticed and cared.

Also joining up to the CASual Fridays Challenge #180 Friendship.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

I Was Thinking He Needs A Red Nose

Hello.  Welcome.  Back to Muse Christmas Visions and Cornelia's fun cards.  I really liked her graphic reindeer but after playing around a bit I just wasn't feeling the jingle.  Then I came across this reindeer from Panduro and Mr Mojo was all over it!!

This is actually the cutest little reindeer with his back legs out to the side but I hid them behind the washi tape wall.  OK, I admit it, I cut them off!!!  But you wouldn't have known if I hadn't told you, and he looks quite cool standing up doesn't he???   So, he's got the dangles, like Cornelia's deer, and I decided to capture the graphic look by leaving him black and white.  Then there's the tape and I offset the panel on a blue card base to give the border.  And I really did think about a red nose, but that might have spoilt the whole monotone thing we have going on.  Looks like he's waiting for cookies.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Walking The Fish

Hello.  Welcome. The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge is Stenciled Backgrounds.  I made a 6 x 4 journal card with Carmen's Veranda Ballerina With Fish.  I love this stamp!!

I used the Stay Weird sentiment, also from Carmen's Veranda.  If you haven't checked out these fabtastic sentiments you really should.  They say a laugh restores the soul.  Bwahahahahaha.

Join your stamped and stenciled background projects HERE.  You can use any rubber or clear stamps and any style or type of project, as long as there is some stenciling in the background, so hop on over for more inspiration from the team and join the fun.  See you there.....  Hugz

Spring Inchies

Hello.  Welcome.  There's a new theme challenge over at Rubber Dance and this fortnight we want to see embossing.  Wet, dry or paste, the choice is yours.  I made a couple of tiny pieces of art.

If you are wondering why they are called inchies it's cos each of these tiny beauties is only one inch square!!  It's actually amazing how much you can cram into a small space.  I used MDF inchies from Things To Alter, so they are quite chunky.  I stamped part of the large spiral from Rubber Dance Round in Circles and embossed with green embossing powder.  Then I stamped the small heart stamp from Rubber Dance Textured Spring and embossed with red powder.  I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the chick and lots of small flowers from the Textured Spring set.  The sheep was a bigger image so I stamped him on shrink plastic and he became a perfect size!!

Star Fish and Mer Maids

Hello.  Welcome.  So whilst I was looking for sea shells I spotted this mermaid and remembered things I had learnt whilst colouring on a coloured card base.

This is Sprinkle and Sparkle's Kaitlyn Mermaid with a sentiment from True Beauty.  I stamped both with black archival and then coloured the mermaid with neon gel and inkjoy pens and the stone and sand with distress inks.  Added a little touch of perfect pearls here and there.

Sea Shells

Hello.  Welcome.  Still wishing for summer.

The inspiration photo at AAA Cards had me reaching for the Stamploration Snowy Hills dies.  From snowy hills to sandy beach!  I embossed with the dies on my cream card base.  I gave the 'beach' a watercolour wash with distress ink and stamped the Rubber Dance shells and sentiment also with distress inks.  The shells were stamped and fussy cut.  The sentiment reads

'one cannot collect all the
beautiful shells on the beach.
One can only collect a few,
and they are more beautiful
if they are few'

Recipe To Try

Hello.  Welcome.  So here's my second card for Muse Christmas Visions Challenge.  Cornelia made 4 cards to inspire this month and this was actually the one I was a little stumped on.  Then I remembered I had bought a stamp from Panduro with a gingerbread recipe and it all came together like this

I used a kraft card base and stamped and embossed the gingerbread recipe with black powder.  Oh yeah, it's in Norwegian, but I'm sure you can work it out.  I stamped, embossed and fussy cut MFP gingerbread man and then added some washi tape that I thought suited.  Then I had a space at the top left I didn't like so I went hunting for some Xmas dingsen that would suit.

Isn't that just so cute!!  Another Panduro stamp.  I put two strips of the washi on a piece of card and stamped and embossed the stamp and trimmed around the edges.

Bad Advice Baby

Hello.  Welcome.  There's a new challenge over at
and we want to see your stenciled backgrounds.  And don't forget the stamping.  Ask Baby, he stamps all the time LOL.

My background is mostly stenciled.   Couldn't resist sneaking in bit of stamping with the gorgeous Grunge Border 3".  That delightful little guy is Happy Skeleton and he and the sentiment are both from Carmen's Veranda.  They say googly eyes make the man.  They are very wise.  Bwahahahahahaa

So hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with your stenciled background masterpieces.  And don't forget to stamp.  Hugz
