Woofy Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.

I've had a busy few days after these lovely ladies turned up at my house on Tuesday evening.

These 14 lucky ladies get to live out their lives free ranging in my garden.  Currently they are camping out in my compost bin whilst we get acquainted and acclimatized.

On the hottest day so far this year I have gone all Chrismassy

A little alternative christmas for my nephew who has one of these boston terriers.  He'll love this.  I used Rubber Dance Pine Fir Yew stamps to make the background and the little doggy is a Unity stamp.  The sentiment is a Stamplorations die cut from blue glitter card.  Then I decided he needed a hat!!

I used a scrap of white and red card and a bit of glitter glue to give him a little sparkle.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Hello Sweetie

Hello.  Welcome.  She's a lovely girl sending birthday wishes.

I made my background with orange and pink acrylic paint and stencilled white dots and triangle shapes with white acrylic.  I stamped the VLVS lady and added some colour with sharpies and a white gel pen.  I die cut Memory Box Tiny Bubbles die 6 times from hot pink card and added them to the background.  The sentiment dies are from Stamplorations cut from black card.

Runaway

Hello.  Welcome.  Found this brightly coloured traveller on my desk and decided to give him something to do.

Since High Hopes Snow Bird has turned out so bright I decided to keep the background quite simple.  I used a black card base and cut Taylored Expressions Downtown Border die from black card.  Then I stamped the sentiment from Unity on vellum and embossed with white powder.  It says 'the unknown is waiting to be discovered'.  My glue is showing, but I quite like the swirly effect.

Meet and One Veg

Hello.  Welcome.  I got this Mr Potato stamp in a VLVS grab bag and looking at their challenge I thought Mr Potato chased by birds might be a laugh.  But when I stamped him I discovered I had an evil version of Mr Potato, so maybe he should be the one to chase the birds

I decided to alter a giant playing card.  I used orange and pink acylic paint and then stencilled dots with white acrylic.   I added some black archival ink using the edge of a stamp and a cotton wool bud.  I wanted to reverse the VLVS flamingo so I stamped it on tissue paper and coloured with sharpies.  Then I glued it to the playing card.  I stamped and embossed VLVS Running Potato and the sentiment on old book paper.  I coloured with sharpies, white gen pen and distress ink.  I edged the sentiment with sharpies.  A googly eye and done!!

Hiding in the Flowers

Hello.  Welcome.  I love Artist Trading Cards, so I was really happy to see a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  And I love the new release from Rubber Dance Stamps.  I decided to combine Curious Cat with some Textured Flowers and go all black and white and ATC.

I cut an ATC from black card using a Sizzix die and stamped and white embossed the large daisy from Rubber Dance Textured Flowers set.  Then I stamped more flowers and Curious Cat on white card, embossed with black embossing powder, fussy cut and layered them on my ATC.  Flowers, Cat, Flowers.  It's a flower-cat sandwich.

You can see the whole new release from Rubber Dance HERE and get 20% off until the 23rd June.  And remember, if you are shopping at Rubber Dance you can use my code GTfreeship you can get free worldwide shipping on orders over €15.  That means you can order a cat for you and one for a friend and get them delivered free.  You know you want two.

Puff, Missed That One

Hello.  Welcome.  I am one of those late people.  No, not dead!!   Just often a bit last minute.  Take birthdays.  There's a good chance the card will be late, or I remember the week before and then promptly forget, cos I already remembered, and totally miss it.  So this works for me....

I was inspired by the sleeping red dragon cake in the Stamplorations Cutplorations challenge.  I also went with navy and silver that is also in the picture.   I stuck a piece of drywall tape to the tag to act like a stencil and then added blue acrylic paint.  I removed the tape.  OK, not the best stencil in the world but I quite like the broken pattern and how the paint crept under some of the lines, but you can still see the pattern.  I stamped, embossed and coloured the Stamplorations flying dino, who I thought looked a bit dragony, with distress inks and gave him googly eyes, cos you can't go wrong with a googly eye or two.  Then I cut Stamplorations Oh frap! from silver mirror card and embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  A bit of shot silk ribbon and we are done.

Summer Time and the Livin' is Easy

Hello.  Welcome.  A new challenge over at the Rubber Dance blog today and we want to see your Summer projects.   I rounded up the poodle and off to the beach we did go........

I started by taking a piece of yellow card, ripping it and smearing with Mustard distress ink

I stamped some images from Retro Beach with Tea Dye distress

More images from Retro Beach stamped with Spiced Marmalade distress ink and I embossed the 'surf line' using WOW White Puff Embossing Powder.

I made the 'sea' on a piece of paper using three shades of blue distress ink and images from Retro Beach and Take the Plunge

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the boy from Retro Beach and the poodle from Poodle Power.  I used gel pens to colour the boy and distress inks for the poodle.

And it all went together like this, with some additional words from the Retro Beach stamp set.

You can find the challenge HERE.  Looking forward to seeing your makes.

Nice Hat

Hello.  Welcome.  CASology's cue word is Clothes.  I thought about this hat.  Then I decided to try a technique that Deepti shared the other day where she used a monotone image with a colourful background.

The hat is from Rubber Dance Poodle Power set.  It comes with a fun flower, but I wanted to keep it masculine, so I masked away the flower.  Not that you can't do flowers and men, but not this time LOL.   I used a generic stencil and distress inks for the background colours on my small tag.  I stamped and embossed the hat and used a Promarker, cool grey 4 to colour it.  The happy birthday is a Stamplorations stamp.  Some bobbly wool and done.
