Hitch Hikers

Hello.  Welcome.  Last evening I had a crafty get together with my friend Elin.  Hi Elin.  Elin discovered heat embossing and I discovered this lovely stamp she had in her stash.  ROFL.  So I stamped off a few images and today I decided to try water colouring with my Cosmic Shimmer paints.  I am seeing cool watercolour techniques all over blogland but it never seems to work so well for me.  That said, I was quite pleased with the finished result

I tried a little experiment.  I stamped Penny Black's ...for a spin stamp and embossed with clear powder.  I have used the same Cosmic Shimmer colours on both images but the top one was spritzed with water before I started colouring.  Much better coverage and blending me feels.  It's a pity you don't get to see the shimmer.  It's pretty cool.  The red combs and orange beaks were coloured with distress markers.

I chose the pre-spritzed image, blacked the edges and mounted on a black base card.  The sentiment is a combination of Unity stamps.
