Pyromaniac Convention

Hello.  Welcome.  So over at PaperArtsy the current topic is Torn Ripped and Burnt.  Burnt??  Hmmm,........

My Man:  What you doing?

Me:  Burning my art

My Man:  Oh.  OK.  (back to reading his book)

This one was inspired by Wanda.  I took a piece of Basic Grey paper that I love, but I have just realised how prominent the word Christmas appears, so maybe I should change the sentiment.  Anyway, I ripped a hole in the middle and folded it back and then set fire to the edges (see conversation above).  Wow, too much fun!!!!   I splatted some Fired Brick distress stain on some yellow vellum, ripped it into strips and stuck it behind the aperture.  I used some of the soot from the burning on my white base card.  The little doggy is from Unity, stamped, embossed and fussy cut.  Sentiment unknown, possibly also Unity.  Great sentiment, maybe doesn't gel so well with the background paper, but the dog is loving it.  But then again.... maybe Christmas is the perfect time to take a chance and change your life.  Seasons Greetings everyone.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Snowflake Coffee

Hello.  Welcome.  In case you have missed it the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has started.  It's hot and it's hoppin'

I used stamps from Impression Obsession Smell The Coffee set and dark blue pigment ink.  I used a mask and stamped with a small Rubber Dance snowflake stamp on each cup.  The panel was cut with Stamplorations Crazy Double Stitch rectangle and I used pale blue Bazzill dots card for my base card.

Butter Humbugs

Hello.  Welcome.  Addicted to CAS have the cue word Sweets and I had an idea to use the Winnie and Walter Peppermint Zone mini stamp and make some mints.

I cut some circles of cream paper using a Sizzix die and stamped with the Peppermint Zone stamp and something Espresso distress ink.  Then I had a little think about how to present my sweets.  I rattled through the embossing folders and found this one from Sizzix called Medallion.  I die cut a pale blue card circle, embossed it and used Aegean Sea and Midnight something chalk inks to highlight the texture.  I cut off the top and the bottom of the circle, edged it all with the dark blue chalk and returned the bottom piece upside down to act as a foot for my sweet bowl.  I used a silver card base, stamped and embossed the Lawn Fawn sentiment and added my sweet bowl, slightly off the edge so as not to crowd my sentiment.

I decided that since Christmas is fast approaching I would share a quick seasonal card that is very easy, but quite fun.

If you want the details you need to hop over to the Crop Stop blog and check out my post.  As an extra incentive it's a twofer!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget you can link up your glittery stamped makes at the Rubber Dance challenge and your Christmas/Winter stamped makes at Lost Coast.  There be prizes!!  Hugz

As You Like It Challenge - Favourite Animal and Why I love all animals, but I decided since it's winter I'm going to go with deer, in all their wonderful variety.  I love their elegance and strength and the majestic stags, and there are so many cool stamps and dies, cute and serious.  This card features a deer of the stag variety.

Blessings From Blogland

Hello.  Welcome.  Todays card is courtesy of Winnie and Walter and Hobbygarasjen.  I have been a very lucky lady and won a gift card at both these places in October.  Today Mr Postman brought much happy mail.  I am blessed.  I used my giftcard at Hobbygarasjen to get a couple of distress oxides, which I have been wanting for ages.  Now I have Salty Ocean and Fossilized Amber distress ox, and, of course, after 20 seconds, I realised I need them all!!!!!  Santa, oh Santa, where are you..........

I used W&W The Peppermint Zone mini stamp and Salty Ocean distress ox on pale blue card and cut it with a stitched rectangle die.  Then I layered the W&W Thanks die lots!!!  If you know me, you will know I am a simple type of gal, but tonight I had a bit of a layers fest.  I cut the thanks from brown glitter card, twice from cream card to give a highlight and then three times from dark blue to give a shadow.  It does give it masses of dimension in the real.  Then I added a blue glitter layer, a dark blue layer, a pale grey layer and used a dark blue card base, as an opportunity to try the distress ox on dark card and wow!  Love!!  I used W&W mini Marbleize stamp with the Salty Ocean distress ox and I love it.  It does go all around the card base but the light has faded it out in my photo so you will have to extrapolate....

Thanks for dropping by and thanks again to Winnie & Walter and Hobbygarasjen.  Hugz

Fast Santa Tags

Hello.  Welcome.  Power Poppy is doing a 12 Days Of Christmas challenge, with lots of fun inspiration, so I thought I'd join the fun by making some chalkboard style tags inspired by Katie's day 1 tags.

I cut Bazzill Blackberry card using Sizzix Scalloped Pennant die, cos I thought it looked sorta christmas tree-y shaped.   Then I used Power Poppy's stamps from the Action Santa set.  I stamped them with white pigment ink and embossed with white powder.  Then I smeared the white ink around to give the chalkboard look.   Gotta love quick and easy in December LOL.

I decided to also stamp one of the small snowflakes with the white ink around the tag to fill some of the gaps.  I think because of the colour scheme, as well as the subject matter, these will be great for the men's gifts.

Hello.  Welcome.  A simple thank you card using a colour scheme I so borrowed from Darnell.  Thanks Darnell.  Hugz

I used Taylored Expressions Cookie Monster cardstock and stamped and embossed the heart from Dare 2 B Artzy Turtle Couple set.  I used masking to make my line of hearts.  The thanks is a Hero Arts stamp, also embossed with white powder.
