In The Cat Cave

Hello.  Welcome.   I hope you had a lovely New Years Day.  Ours was eventful!!  We spent the evening in quiet and darkness after the electricity disappeared.  I was actually working on these posts when it disappeared for the first time late yesterday afternoon.  It was dark in our village and in a number of other ones we can usually see so we knew it wasn't just a little outage.  Then after nearly an hour it came back.  Hurrah!!  So I made dinner, we ate and then I sat down to blog and it all went dark again!!  Oh crap!!  Looked out the window, the whole village was down, but we could see lights across the fjord, so I was reassured.  Wrong!!!  5 hours!  That's a long time.  I mean, I can do without the TV and radio.  I did miss the computer a bit, and it was quite atmospheric with candle light.  Until you stumble over things in dark corners.  And then of course there's the heating!!  Or rather lack of!!!  Luckily it wasn't too cold last night (read above freezing LOL) and there wasn't any wind, which has a super cooling effect on our old house.  We survived, it gave me something to write about, and I even did a bit of tidying in my craft room by the light of the silvery moon.  OK, maybe I used a torch.  So all in all a memorable start to the year.

I made this ATC for the start of the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge.  There will be two challenges a month now and the first one started yesterday and the theme is DOODLING.  Show us your doodle style stamps, or your scribbles and absent minded drawing, but don't forget to stamp!!

I cut the ATC base using a Sizzix die and stamped Carmen's Veranda White Cat with black archival.  I masked her, it looks like a her, and stamped Carmen's Veranda Cracked Grass stamp 5 times.  I coloured it with Molten Red Promarker and added a watercolour wash of Iced Spruce distress ink in the background gaps.  Then I stamped the C, A and T from Carmen's Veranda Zen Create stamp, fussy cut them and added them to my ATC.  A little neon green gel pen for her eyes and done!!

Do hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity to check out some more inspiration from the team and also to join up your doodliceous stamped makes.  See you there.  Hugz

Loving this cat ATC, Gail. What a bummer about not having any power. We didn't have any for about 4 days once and I nearly went crazy!!! Thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers xx

Love your cute cat ATC. Losing power for 5 hours must have been tough, especially with the heating.
Happy New Year to you.
