Man From The Flying Squad

Hello.  Welcome.  Love this image.  Banksy rocks.  Did I tell you I saw Banksy's Brexit on a wall in Bristol.  The council had put a piece of perspex over it to stop over zealous graffitti cleaners LOL.

I cut the panel using Stamplorations Crazy Double stitched rectangle die.   I used Cracked Pistachio distress ink and Aegean Sea chalk ink randomly on a white hammered card base.  I stamped and embossed the VLVS policeman on the die cut panel and stuck it on the card base.   Then I stamped the VLVS shoes hanging from the line.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Do You Like Happy Mail??

Hello.  Welcome.  It was my birthday last weekend.  I'm chatting to my mum and she says she doesn't know what to get me.  Ahhh, well.  There's a package coming for me.  Why don't you send it on and it will be the perfect gift.  I knew it would be the perfect gift cos it was some crafty goodies I had had my eye on.  The really funny thing about this story was it was me, in Norway, ordering Swedish goodies from the UK, to be sent to Norway!!   Talk about round the houses!!  Anyway, here's a make using my perfect birthday present.  Thanks Mum.

I cut a black panel using the Gummiapan Stitched Square die.  I have been wanting some square dies and the stitching is just such a lovely detail.  These cut really well and are excellent value for money.  Then I cut the Integrated Star die from gold mirror card.  I stamped and coloured the cute Mini Bunny Tilda with distress inks and fussy cut her.  These are less that 5cm, but very detailed, and I have a few ideas to see where I can perch them.  They are on offer at Swedish House Crafts if you are interested.  I think they will be perfect for ATC's etc.  I used another of the Stitched Square dies to cut my card base.  I couldn't find the sentiment or text dies I wanted so I scribbled my own words with a gold pilot marker and outlined with a white gel pen.

OK, so if you like happy mail, the Card Chain Challenge May sign up is open until 6th May.  This is an international card exchange.  You send a card and get a card in return.  Would love you to join the fun.  All details and past reveals of the fantabulous cards that have winged their way around the globe can be viewed on the blog.  The April reveal will be posted on 2nd May.

Also, in case you missed it, I was Growing in Unity the past week and have two Unity stamp grab bags to give away.  Check out this post for details and all the links.

GIU Day 5 - Get Out The Sun Glasses

Hello.  Welcome.  This week I am growing in Unity.  I have shared a project every day this this week featuring Unity Stamp Company stamps.  This is my final GIU post and I would like to thank you for your visits and your mega-awesome comments.  You rock.  I'd also like to thank Unity for giving me the opportunity to share my Unity creations with you, and for giving you the chance to win a Unity grab bag.  Just leave a comment on this post for a chance to win one of two fantastic Unity grab bags.  Hugz

Yesterday I did cool blues for Christmas.  Today I wanted to go bright, in the hopes of encouraging the summer.  And today we have sunshine, so maybe it worked!!  I also wanted to use one of my favourite Unity Stamps.  I know, there are so many, but in the end I went with The Strength She Needs, definitely one of my bestest favourites.

See, I was serious about the sunglasses!!  I made my background using triangles of neon paper.  I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the girl and coloured her with distress ink and a red Promarker.  I stamped the sentiment using black Staz-on.  Not sure of the kit this comes from because I got it in a Unity grab bag.  I thought this might make a modern and alternative confirmation card.  Good advice for a young woman.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a Unity grab bag.  If you have missed my other posts this week they are here:
Good luck.  I will announce my winners next week.

If you hop over to Lisa's blog she is also GIU this week, and has two grab bags to giveaway too.
Just in case you don't know there are two GIU gals every week in 2017, each giving away 2 fabtastic Unity grab bags.  If you want to find them you can join the fb

GIU Day 4 - Feeling Blue

Hello.  Welcome.  This week I am growing in Unity.  This means I will be sharing a project every day this this week featuring Unity Stamp Company stamps.  Leave a comment on all my posts this week for a chance to win one of two Unity mega-awesome grab bags.

I used a lot of my christmas card stash last christmas so my plan was to make a new christmas card every week fortnight month.  OK, a little pathetic, but every little helps, and I'm sure production will accelerate after the summer.  So here's this month's contribution to the xmas card pile.  Featuring a girl and coffee, although I like to think she is cuddling a cup of hot chocolate.  I certainly would be.

The bricks and the window are from SMAK kits Focus on the Good and Be Different.  I masked the window before stamping the bricks.  I also added some snowflakes, stamped with silver ink, over the top of the bricks.  They look a bit yellow in the picture.  The snowflakes and the girl are from KOTM Warmth of Winter.  I stamped, fussy cut and coloured her with blue distress inks.  And a little touch of pink and red.  The sentiment is from Country Christmas Snowman.  Maybe not a typical christmas design but it's making me feel chilly!  Where's the hot chocolate??

GIU Day 3 - Wise Words And Interesting Wallpaper

Hello.  Welcome.  This week I am Growing In Unity.  Sharing a project everyday this week featuring Unity Stamp Company stamps.  Leave a comment on all my posts this week for a chance to win one of two Unity mega-awesome grab bags.  I will choose my winners next week.

Today I am sharing a card using images from two Unity SMAK kits.

I stamped and embossed the lady from Focus On The Good and the sentiment from Be Different with black embosssing powder.  To make the background I masked the lady and stamped the flower from the Be Different kit using Electric Green Radiant Neon pigment ink.  Then I did a watercolour wash with Evergreen Bough distress ink.

GIU Day 2 - Outside My Box and Grab Bags Up For Grabs

Hello.  Welcome.  This week I am Growing in Unity.  I am sharing a project every day featuring Unity Stamp Company stamps.  I would like to thank you for your lovely comments yesterday.  Please keep visiting and commenting because Unity have given me two grab bags of 25 stamps to give away.  I will be choosing my two winners next week.  You can find my Day 1 post HERE.

I have decided to call this a canvas, although my canvas is actually a piece of DCWV patterned paper.  I had no plan starting this, except that I wanted to use this gorgeous Anastasia stamp, so I hope I inspire you today to just grab some stamps and make something.

I have made this as a gift for a young lady who will soon be confirmed.  Nearly every 15 year old in Norway gets confirmed.  For the main image I used Anastasia (Believes) and in the background stamps from Let Adventure.  I took a couple of process photo's so I'll try and explain how I got to this.  It was a bit of an adventure........

I started with a 8" x 8" piece of patterned paper from DCWV.   I stamped Anastasia on a piece of white paper, fussy cut her and used this as a mask.  Then I stamped the mixed media Let Adventure stamps using London Fog Memento ink and grey Archival ink.  I added some iridescent glitter glue to the wings of the butterfly and some Brushed Corduroy stickles to the two long mixed media stamps.  And I really didn't like the stickles!!!

So I had a think about what I might have in my stash to fix my stickles problem and remembered that I had some Bedazzles.  Tiny blingy stuff.  So I added some glossy accents and some Disco Ball bedazzles to the stickles.  I liked that.  I decided to add some Electric Slide bedazzles to the butterfly.  Then I used a wide flat brush and black acrylic paint and made the border.

I removed the white paper mask.  I stamped and embossed the Anastasia image on vellum and fussy cut her.  I coloured on the backside with distress inks.  Totally inappropriate medium to use on vellum, but I like the translucent effect.  I added some copper metal feathers from Korthobby.no to her hair and  a bit of blue galaxy marker to her eyes.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win one of two Unity grab bags.  And if you want to increase your chances you can hop over to Lisa's blog.  She is also GIU this week and also has two grab bags to give away.  Good luck.  Hugz

GIU Day 1 - Win a Unity Grab Bag

Hello.  Welcome.  I am very pleased and excited to be Growing In Unity.   This means that every day this week I will be sharing a project featuring Unity stamps.  It also means that there is a chance for you to win a Unity Stamp Company Grab Bag!  I have two to give away!!  All you need to do is leave a comment on each of my posts this week and on Monday I will draw two lucky winners.  And if that isn't enough, if you pop over to Lisa's blog, she is also Growing in Unity this week, and she also has two grab bags to give away!!!  Hey, don't forget to leave a comment before you hop off!!  Here's my card for today.....

I made this birthday card for my nephew last week.  He has a boston terrier so I knew this would be a winner.  I stamped my panel with Unity Chickenwire Background using brown Archival ink.  I added a blue distress ink wash and spritzed with Midnight something Dylusions spray.  Then I added some gold splats by flicking my Pilot marker pen.  I stamped and embossed the dog from Lucky Dog, fussy cut him and added him to the card using one of those spring-y-ma-whatz-its.  Love how he wobbles, but getting him in the envelope was a challenge!!  Glad to report he arrived safely.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave me some love for your chance to win some lovely Unity stamps, and do hop over to Lisa for more chances!  I'll be back tomorrow.  See you then.  Hugz

Longing For

Hello.  Welcome.  Decided to get messy this evening and brayer a painty background.

I added Lost Coast's Floppy Eared Cat which I stamped on black card with Versamark, embossed with white powder and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts, stamped with archival ink.

My background was made by brayering red, white and blue acrylic paint onto my card base.  I stamped some PaperArtsy small stamps with blue dye ink.  You can just see some of them in the left hand side of the red band.

I would also like to mention that the Card Chain Challenge May sign up is open until the 6th May.  If you like sending and receiving happy mail check it out.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Bird On A Cup

Hello.  Welcome.  This is an 'I'm not sure project'.  I was inspired by the Mod Squad chalkboard challenge to make this panel and then used one of the Power Poppy sketches to put my card together.  And I liked it.  Then I took the picture and I didn't like it!   Then I looked at it again this morning and thought 'that's not too bad'.  So I decided to share.

I stamped the Power Poppy image from the Short Stacks set on black card with Versamark and embossed with white powder.  I coloured the image with Galaxy Markers and ripped the edge of the panel.  I added some Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube dye ink to the edge of the panel and also used it for the 'chalk' effect.  Then I used Sizzix on the edge Notebook die and blue card and layered it behind the chalkboard panel.  This is the thing I am unsure about.  I like the blue, but wonder if it should have been black?  My background is tone on tone distress ink and a stamploration stencil.  I added some pieces of gold card and the sentiment is from the Short Stacks set as well.

City Chick

Hello.  Welcome.  I really liked this card by Becca so decided to make my own version with this very cool Stamplorations chick.  I made an ATC.

Bwahahahaha.  This was actually my second attempt at Becca's technique for simple watercolour shading.  The first one went a little pear shaped.  But I got there in the end.  Or here at least.  I cut my ATC using a Sizzix die.  Then I stamped and masked the chick from Stamplorations Fowl Play.  I stamped the splat and postmark stamp from Grunge Elements then coloured using distress inks.  Becca set her panel on a coloured background, but since I was working on an ATC I decided to use some washi tape around the edge to make a colourful border.  Then I stamped the Happy Birthday to finish.

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy Easter and a new challenge over at Rubber Dance.  We are playing with the very popular Black and White plus One.  I chose a little bit of red........

I stamped the man with VersaMark ink and embossed with black powder.  Then I masked him and stamped Rubber Dance Marble ATC Background and embossed that as well.  I cut out the panel, edged it with Memento Black Tuxedo ink, added a red layer and mounted it on the white card base.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white card using black Archival and mounted it on the card.

Spring On Terra Dactyl

Hello.  Welcome.  Here's some minimalistic mixed media mania.

I used purple brusho's to make the background and spritzed with water and Windsor & Newton Irridescent Watercolour medium.  I stamped the sentiment from Rubber Dance Sarcastic Superpower set with black Archival.  I stamped the Pterodactyl from Stamplorations Dino Things and coloured with distress inks and Promarkers.

Changed the angle and put on the flash in an attempt to catch the sparkle.  Those light bits top right was all I caught, but it blings in the real.

Shiver Me Timbers

Hello.  Welcome.  It's Birthday April!!  Needed another small man card, so went with the oh so cool Pirate Dan from Kadoodle stamps.

Pirate Dan was stamped with black Archival ink, fussy cut and coloured with Promarkers.  I used Worn Lipstick distress for his skin and gold pilot marker for his belt buckle and earring.  The background was actually an exercise in brush cleaning!  I just grabbed a scrap of card and brushed til no more dark blue acrylic paint came out, then washed the brush.  Then I looked at the card scrap and decided it was too pretty to throw away.  With the addition of a scrap of ripped yellow card and Die-Versions Beach Hut dies cut from black card it made a perfect beach scene for Pirate Dan.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Happy Birthday set stamped with Dare2BArtzy Midnight Blue dye ink.  I also used this ink to edge the card base and layer.
