Hello. Welcome. We are having a lovely week here in Norway with lovely sunny calm days. It's been a little quiet here in my little corner of blogland as I have been spending much time in the garden. Look, signs of spring......
Then today some lovely new stamps arrived from Rubber Dance Stamps and I couldn't wait to get them inky. Here's my first project with the newly released Rascal Rooster, just in time to join The Craft Barn's Alpha challenge for 'R'. Was so excited when I saw this one. I keep chickens and this is a beautifully detailed and very realistic stamp. Love it. Here he is......
So here we go, rooster n. (US) domestic cock. I kid you not!! That's the OED definition. One feels they could have expanded a little.... I covered my playing card with some Basic Grey yellow patterned paper. I stamped the background with stamps from the Rubber Dance Round In Circles set, the large circle in yellow and the small linked circles in blue. I stamped Rascal Rooster, coloured and fussy cut. Then I made his neck by repeatedly stamping the long feathers from the stamp on a piece of card and coloured it blue. I will be back with this gorgeous stamp again soon. Oh, and there's a massive 25% off this new release until 20/03/16. Go HERE for details.
Thanks for dropping by. Hugz

Fabulous rooster image, Gail. Would you prefer male chicken? I am fascinated that it specifies US for the word rooster. I wonder what other English speaking countries call their roosters. Cocks? Oh, my....forget I said anything!!
Great project!

Hi Gail! I'm glad you got the stamps in time to make your R for Rooster. Thank you for showing him off! "Domestic cock" sounds funny .... At least it's "hane" in Norwegian, no confusion there.
Love your photo of the spring flowers! My crocuses are not up yet, but They are in bloom in other parts of town where they were planted in full sunlight. Not much of that yet in our backyard (tall houses around us). Anyway - thanks for the cool card and promo of my stamps! ♥
Love this rascal, Gail!! Great coloring job on him, too."Domestic cock" made me laugh. Guess where Cock-a-doodle-do! comes from!
"Domestic cock". Oh dear, you've made me spurt tea all over the screen, thinking of a card my Twofers teamies have dared me to post to my blog but I daren't because I don't want Blogger to close me down for obscenity!!!! Gorgeous card and a wonderful stamp - thanks for sharing at Twofers
Jane
I am laughing all around with this one! First with your def. comment, then with the comment from Janis! Laughing is a great way to start the day. Your domestic cock is quite the regal fellow. You've showcased him beautifully!
Ah, what a fine cock you have created using your NBUS image, Gail!! He is quite proud of his comb and wattle, and rightly so!! I'm glad you are having lovely spring weather there! Thank you for sharing the pretty flower photo!! Hugs, Darnell
Your crocuses are glorious! And that cock - still chuckling over that...Thanks for all your wonderful comments, Gail - I really appreciate them and enjoy reading them! Have a great weekend with lots of crafty time :)
If Van Gogh painted Roosters they would look like yours... This Rooster is on my wish list. Because of the vagaries of internet searches you have to call them roosters otherwise all your customers would be in trouble! I remember vividly a similar internet search that had me blushing profusely with the resulting images...
What a fabulous looking bird he is, I can picture him strutting to the top of the weather vane and crowing his comb off! Great Organic project for us at Twofers thank you for joining us with him. XOXO
Well Jane we really do think you should share the fruit of your labours!
Love your bright colored rooster!
A great image and I love the striking colours.
Giggles! I think I'll keep calling him a Rooster! He looks like he's got a megaload of personality...& your FLOWERS....sigh. LOVELY!!!
I laughed and laughed at the OED definition. I'll have to check in my dictionary to see if it elaborates a bit more. Until then, I'll keep laughing at the definition, but NOT at that gorgeous rooster. It's a beauty.
Well, he is splendid isn't he. Clever circle background to show him off. I like this a lot.
Great project. I love the bold colours. He looks a little bit menacing as if he's waiting to peck any second now!
What a fantastic specimen!! Beautiful colours, thank you for entering The Craft Barn's Challenge.
