Yay! Monkey Zip Line

Hello.  Welcome.  Been playing with Cheery Lynn's Yay! Monkey.  I had images of him swinging by his tail from a pennant border.  Sometimes these ideas look so good in my head.........  So we went in a different direction and I ended up with an interactive birthday card.  Go Monkey........

I used an cream linen base card and smeared with Ground Expresso distress.   I stamped various sentiments from Rubber Dance Happy Birthday set.   I added some grommets and a piece of twine coloured with distress ink and Cheery Lynn's Yay! Monkey.  Paper pieced in two shades of brown.  I used a cocktail stick and another sentiment from the Rubber Dance set to make a little sign for him to hold.

Slide him along to reveal very good advice to Eat Cake!!

Poor man's video.  Click on the picture to make it bigger then flick between the three to see monkey on the zip line.  Go on, you know you want to.

Silhouette Santa

Hello.  Welcome.  Less than a month til Christmas.  Better make some cards.  Ho Ho Ho

I started with a blue card base.  I used Taylored Expressions Downtown Border die and used the negative as a mask and sponged black acrylic paint to create the silhouette city.  I sponged Blueprint Sketch distress for the sky and added a circle of white acrylic, also through a homemade mask, cos I wanted a yellow moon not a green one!!  Unexpected forward thinking LOL

I used the Downtown Border cut as a stencil and sponged yellow acrylic for the lights in the buildings and the moon.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Santa Sleigh stamp and embossed with black powder.   I liked this enough to make a couple the same and since the masks were cut it was actually quite quick to reproduce.  Think I may need to cut the masks from something other than card though.  The city lights are a bit irregular.  Maybe it's frosty LOL.

Colour Revolution

Hello.  Welcome.  Still feeling taggy.  Followed the tutorial at MFP and found a new way to get pretty colours whilst colouring outside the lines.

I stamped the flower from Stamplorations Sketched Blooms on vellum, embossed with white ep and coloured with sharpies on the backside.  Well, scribbled really, but when you turn it over it looks great.  I used Stamplorations stencil on the background and DoCrafts Honeycomb embossing folder on the card pieces I overlayed on the front.

The thanks is a Hero Arts stamp embossed with white powder and a bundle of crazy fibers.  I stenciled and highlighted with Spiced Marmalade distress ink.

Mr Mojo Misses Plane Home

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends, followers and lurkers.  I am starting to think that maybe Mr Mojo missed the flight home.  Creation is a slow process.  Luckily I can be inspired by the tags over at 25 Days of Tags.  Todays inspiration was supplied by Tracey.  Here's her beautiful tag

And here's my take

I cut and embossed my tag using a die from Spellbinders Orchard Harvest.  The owl is Unity's Woo Hoo.  I added a piece of ribbon embroidered with God Jul, that's merry christmas in Norwegian.

Bauble-icious

Hello.  Welcome.  I was looking through some more of the lovely tags at 25 Days of Christmas Tags and spotted a lovely teapot shaped tag by Jill.  So I hunted through my dies for a shape and found Sizzix Ornament #5

I cut the ornament and embossed it with the matching embossing folder.  I highlighted the embossing with Barn Door distress ink.  I added some funky wool as a tie.

I cut the word peace 5 times (Sizzix Christmas Words set) layered and embossed with red tinsel embossing powder.  Much finer glitter in this than in the snowflake tinsel ep I used yesterday.  Prefer this one.  Gives a lovely glossy glittery look with a few layers.  Also embossed the bits of Memory Box Tivoli Snowflake that I didn't use in yesterdays tag.  So pretty.   Added a bell for a bit of christmas jingle.

Attack of the Glitter Fairy

Hello.  Welcome.  Still trying to get on top of all those little jobs that piled up whilst I was on my holibobs.  Really felt like making today so I baked and decorated 160+ pig shaped cookies............

Then I decided to get really serious and made a tag inspired by Kim.

I cut a piece of grey board using Memory Box Tivoli Snowflake and covered it with Snowflake Tinsle embossing powder.  Managed to also cover most of my desk with the glittery bits as well!!!

I stamped the background with a star flourish stamp from Rubber Dance Winter Wonderland set.  I used Barn Door distress to give a faux embossed look.  The Let It Snow stamp is from the same Rubber Dance set embossed with the Snowflake Tinsel ep.

I added a simple red satin tie.  And the pigs taste great......

Do cookies count as Christmas crafting???

Funny Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  This little moggy was waiting for me when I got home from my travels.

This is Cheery Lynn's Funny Cat.  How cute is that!!  I used Cheery Lynn Tulip Doily Angel Wing to shape the top of my tag.  The hello is a sizzix diecut.  I inked the tag edges with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.

Christmas Bird

Hello.  Welcome.  This is a re-post of my Rubber Dance DT project.  I made a christmas card.  All the stamps are from Rubber Dance

I have used the colours from the Rubber Dance challenge .  Because we are coming up to the silly season this challenge will run for November and December with the chance to win two prizes

I used the large yew stamp from Pine Fir Yew with Stormy Sky distress ink.

Then I used the small yew stamp to fill in my background.

I cut the background with Colour Block die from Taylored Expressions and mounted the cut blocks on a dark blue base card.  If you don't have the die you could use scissors or a craft knife.  The God Jul (merry christmas) is from Norwegian Christmas embossed with blue embossing powder.

I stamped and embossed the pine branches from Pine Fir Yew and Berry Bird and coloured with distress ink.   I like this, but then I was wondering what it would look like with slightly different colours??

With a red base layer.

With a blue bird and I some Barn Door distress ink.

So three cards for christmas.  Do you have a favourite??

Palm Trees and Possums

Hello.  Welcome.  Over at Cheery Lynn they want Autumn Colours.  I paper pieced Cheery Lynns Koala Ken and embossed some metallic card pieces with leaf patterns.

Sorry about the photo.  Me and my tablet have yet to reach an understanding!  And of course the metallic bling didn't help! I cut the copper layer with Cheery Lynn Dutch Tulip Angel Wing.   The sentiment is one of my most favourite from Unity.

Curiouser and Curiouser

Hello.  Welcome. So here I am,  on my holibobs, desert island crafting.  That's what I call it when I am away from my stash with limited tools and making use of any found objects that are on hand.  I did slip a few pre-stamped images and sentiments in to my desert island kit which was unusually organised for me ROFL

My first attempt of photos with my tablet.  I smeared Blueprint Sketches and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks on paper.  I made a stencil from a piece of card and roughly cut shapes with scissors.   Then I used a wet tissue to remove some of the ink through the stencil.  Not perfect, but you get the idea.....

Then I added a fussy cut pre-stamped Curious Corrine and a sentiment from Paperartsy.

All Those Pretty Papers

Hello.  Welcome.  I am trying to use up some of my patterned papers.   We buy them cos they are such lovely colours and then they sit on the shelf, too pretty to use.  Well, tonight I grabbed a couple of sheets from a company called Twelve by 12, two Unity stamps and a Cheery Lynn die and made this

I used Cheery Lynns Spring Flower Burst Doily Angel Wing to cut the aperture.  It perfectly fitted the middle of the sunflower on these big papers.  I stamped the sentiment from Unity's Make Our Souls Blossom and embossed with gold powder.  Then I overstamped with Unity's Take Care of You in green ink.

Blue Boy CAS

Hello.  Welcome.  I think I took longer looking for an appropriate sentiment than I took to make the card!!  Then I decided he didn't need a sentiment!!  Go figure.

I stamped Unity Whimsy Borders (NBUS) with Stormy Sky distress ink.  I stamped, embossed and fussy cut Unity's And Then There Was a Boy and coloured with turquoise brusho's.  Is that mixed media CAS??

Scandanavian Santa

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi amd hello to Penny.  So lovely to have you along.  Hugz to all my followers, friends and lurkers.  Hugz

More fun tutorials over at Marks Finest Papers.  This time it's Monochromatic Layered Stamping.  So I went blue, because I like blue, and used three blue distress inks

I started by putting Stormy Sky DI on my acrylic block, spritzing and stamping on my card.  I have been wanting to try this and this was my first attempt.  Love the effect.  Then I stampd Hero Arts Stunning Snowflakes, also using the Stormy Sky DI.  I stamped the sentiment using Faded Jeans and the santa using Ocean Spray.  I also coloured Santa's hat with the same ink.  Works well cos blue is a traditional Scandanavian colour for St Nicholas.  The stamps are from MFP's Holiday Tags and Dear Santa sets.

Big Cats Bearing Gift Cards

Hello.  Welcome.  Such fun to make this sweet little gift card holder using a tutorial at Mark's Finest Papers.

I used Prima Forever Young papers.  The tiger is from Marks Finest Papers Tiger stamp set.  I used the same stamp to make the tiger striped paper I used on the RHS.  I used a Sizzix circle die and a Spellbinders floral die for my tiger topper.

I used a Sizzix arrow die and stamped part of a sentiment from MFP Tiger set.  When you pull the ribbon the gift card pops out.  Fun packaging idea.

CCC Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  Wanted to share another cat.  This one I sent to my October CCC friend LesLee.  Hi LesLee.  I know, it's a bit like this one I shared the other day, but different.......

I used the October CCC sketch, and colours, and theme - cat!!  The only thing I missed was the enamel dots.  So I went with rhinestones on a lovely Memory Box die sent to me by the lovely Deborah.  Thanks Deborah.  Hugz.  I cut Memory Box Flowering Vine from mauve paper and used purple Wink of Stella on the flowers to add colour and sparkle.  I also added purple and pink rhinestones.   The cat is an Anitas stamp, the friends is a sizzix die cut.

The CCC October reveal is temporarily delayed.
There is still time to sign up for NOVEMBER CCC, the last one of this year.  If you would like to send a card somewhere on planet earth and get one in the post, also from somewhere on planet earth,  then check out the link.  It closes 6th November.  Don't be shy.  There are some amazing cards being shared by crafty ladies around the world.  I am proud to be a link in the CCC chain.

Lion Buttons

Hello.  Welcome.  Have you seen the cool colours for this months challenge at Rubber Dance?  It's red, white and blue for November AND December.  Yep, a two month challenge with two mega prizes at the end.

What are you waiting for??  Oh, yeah......

Look at those cool lion buttons made by me!  Why are we buying buttons when with a stamp, some ink and some shrink plastic we can make your own.

I started by stamping the lion from Rubber Dance African Animals on shrink plastic with ColorBox Arctic Deep chalk ink.  I cut using Sizzix circle die then I coloured the background with Brilliance Rocket Red Gold.  Can you see the shimmer?

The shrinking increases the intensity of the colours.  Also the size LOL.  From 6.5cm (2,5") to 2,5cm (1").  Don't forget to punch your holes before you shrink LOL

Check out the challenge at Rubber Dance.  You must use the colours and stamping.  You don't have to use Rubber Dance stamps but we would love to see them LOL.  The theme is optional.

Thanks for dropping by and don't forget if you are buying Rubber Dance stamps you can get 15% off with my code gail2015.  Now there's an idea for santa!  Hugz
