Cattitude

Hello Nomad friends.

I've used the lovely sketch from De Egel again today, combined with Lost Coast Designs Fat Cat stamp and part of a Carmen's Veranda sentiment.  Gotta admit I have misplaced the punchline! but it's a cat, feel the sarcasm........   The big beautiful paws are a couple of fancy painted metal brads and I scattered a few tiny metal flower brads for compliance and ascetics.  I stamped the cat directly on the patterned paper and water coloured with distress ink.

Santa's Golden Moment

Hello Nomad friends.  The year is galloping on apace and I have been slacking with my xmas card making.  I like to do a few each month so there is no rush at the last minute bwahhhahahahahaaaa who am I fooling LOL.  Anyway, here's santa in his golden bling suit.

I think it should have been golden gloves with white cuffs, but there you go.......  I used sizzix Retro Santa dies and lots of scraps of gold card in various textures and designs.  His gold holographic mirror card suit is certainly looking sparkly.  His belt buckle is a bit of gold metal sheet.  The God Jul (merry christmas) is also a sizzix die.  I nearly cut santa's gloves from that stitch cut bit on the edge, but luckily it survived to play a supporting roll as scenery.

Panda in Bamboo Forest

Hello Nomad friends.  Playing with Panda's again.  So cute.  And a beautiful embossing folder from Spellbinders on red holographic mirror card for a wow and camera challenging card.

The embossing folder is Cascading Leaves and Stripes and it's so lovely.  I have a similar one with cherry blossoms.  What a lovely background it makes.  The panda is a Funky Fossil stamp, stamped on white card and fussy cut.  I added a Kort og Godt die cut sentiment which equates to Happy Birthday.

Autumn Joy

Hello Nomad friends.   Hope you are having a wonderful day.  It started with a little sunshine, but then turned wet, so a great day to adjourn to the craft room and use the lovely sketch from De Egel again.  They also want us to include an animal, so I went crazy with a sizzix die set and used three.

The bear, rabbit, fox and leaves are all from the same die set.  I like the primitive simplicity of these.  Simple shapes with a little bit of layering detail.  The hearts were negative cut leftovers.  I used packaging and bazzill scraps for the animals and leaves.  The main background pieces are Tonic papers and the smaller pieces, more scraps.  The burnt orange piece is embossed with Simon Says Stamp Firework folder.  I used Marianne Design and Gummiapan postage dies.

Strangely Bizarre

Hello Nomad friends.  How are you doing??   Today I am over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with some inspiration for the Inchie Twinchie Domino Challenge.  I had a look through my stamps for some that would fit on dominos (2" x 1") and found this set of Lost Coast Designs Mini Ancient stamps.  Two were a bit small, two were a bit wide, but I trimmed them, and two were perfect!  Then, after advising two friend this evening that chocolate is the answer, it got a little bit quirky...

I stamped the Lost Coast Designs Mini Ancients using brown archival ink, cut them to size and inked the edges with the same brown ink.  My background is Lost Coast Designs Bubbles Background stamped with Prickly Pear archival ink, then over stamped with Lost Coast Designs Drips and sepia archival ink.  I arranged my domino's on the drips and then stamped the Carmen's Veranda Breakfast Chocolate sentiment in brown archival ink.

For September we want to see your stamped makes featuring Inchies (1" x 1"), Twinchies (2" x 2"), and/or Dominos (2" x 1")  You can make said Inchies, Twinchies or Dominos with real rubber or clear stamping, or you can incorporate these sizes into your project in another way, perhaps chop up your background, or your foreground, cut windows, or maybe make a three dimensional shape, or a tiny album.  Be brave, join the fun.  The team is sharing awesome projects all month so do pop over to check out all the amazing inspiration.

Golden Leaves

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made a simple sort of card today with Poppystamp dies.

I die cut from the same card as the base for a faux embossing look, but couldn't resist adding a touch of sunflower archival ink.  I used Poppystamps Harvest Oval Frame, Playful Hugs and the large butterfly is Intricate Cut Butterflies, cut from some pinkish card.  I added a yellow satin ribbon, cos September is Children Cancer month, and a tiny Cheery Lynn cut butterfly on top.

I hope you are having a wonderful day.  If not, have a hug from me.  Well, have a hug anyway.  We all need hugs, no matter how the day is going.

Game On

Hello Nomad friends.  I have my first inspiration piece today for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Inchie Twinchie Domino Challenge.  We want to see your stamped makes featuring Inchies (1" x 1"), Twinchies (2" x 2"), and/or Dominos (2" x 1")  You can make said Inchies, Twinchies or Dominos with real rubber or clear stamping, or you can incorporate these sizes into your project in another way, perhaps chop up your background, or your foreground, cut windows, or maybe make a three dimensional shape, or a tiny album.  The possibilities are endless.......

I decided to chop up my background into bits and piece it back together.

I stamped Carmen's Veranda Dice Background using yellow ink on white card and then chopped it into 1" x 1", 2" x 2" and 2" x 1" pieces.  I arranged the inchie, twinchie and domino size pieces onto a black card square and then added a yellow mat behind.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Alfred Hitchcock Standing on white card with black ink, fussy cut him and added him to the card.  To finish I stamped Lost Coast Designs Happy Birthday on one of the domino pieces.

Steampunk Pussy

Hello Nomad friends.   It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  Make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card.  Everyone is a winner!!!   Sending love around the world one card at a time.  This month I sent to Robyn in Australia.

I used the options of paint and friendship.  I embossed the white panel and then brayered aztec copper paint onto the texture.  I stamped the Funky Fossil Steampunk cat, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut her.  I used Marianne Designs Postage die on the painty panel.  The sentiment is a favourite from Craft Individuals and I added a few die cut cogs to finish.

You can see the complete REVEAL HERE

There is still time to SIGN UP for September

I Remember When

Hello Nomad friends.  Today feels like a bit of a bonus day so I decided to take advantage, buckle down and make some makes.  When I manage a twofer I always think of the lovely Darnell, who is the queen of twofers, NBUS, IDEAS, acronyms and hamsters.  I hit the scraps for almost everything here, except the card bases, and maybe the original panels, cos I can't think of 6x4 as a snippet LOL.

This is the first time I used this TH Vault Christmas die set and also the Studio Light Christmas sentiment stamps, inventively called stampsl412.  Catchy!!!!!

This guy reminded me of all those crazy years when I would rush around seeking the perfect xmas present for all those people who didn't want or need it.  Now, if I manage to exert myself, all you get is some homemade jam, maybe a selection of handmade cards, or some dubiously handsewn good intention.  Ho Ho OH!!!!!

Here's the female version.  Both cards are white card bases and a white panel cut with Marianne Design large postage die.  I managed a small surround, which in the interests of saving the planet I coloured with a yellow sharpie and added back around the cut panel.  I found black scraps and cut the silhouette people and lamposts.  I stamped the sentiments and Lost Coast Designs small shadow circle frame in yellow for a warm glow.  Then I embossed the panels with a magazine embossing folder.  The dude also got a snippety wreathe.

OK, off to make more stuff.  Plan A bwahahaahahaa.

Naughty or Nice

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm here today with some last hour inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Cats and Dogs Challenge.  I have had such a blast with this challenge, and I think the team has too, with so many awesome canine and feline delights.  I decided to use Pokey Dog again and combined him with some die cuts for some festive fun.

I cut a hexagon card base using Tonic dies and stamped the large Shadow Circle Frame with orange ink.  I stamped Pokey Dog and fussy cut him and arranged him with my Tattered Lace die cut wreath.  To finish I stamped Lost Coast Designs Merry Christmas.

Underlay

Hello Nomad friends.  I should be doing garden things before it rains, but more UFO's caught my attention.  I stamped and fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Taco John the other day and he looks hopefully at me every time I sit at my desk.  The yellow paper I used earlier really gave me a Mexican vibe so vamos a tener una fiesta!!!

He's just so adorbs!!!!  He is stamped on a scrap of patterned card with brown archival ink and I added a little distress marker colour.  The happy birthday is also from Lost Coast Designs.

The panel behind his head was a bit of sock packaging (gotta love it when they use kraft) cut with a postage die (I have so many but probably Gummiapan cos it's square) and then I used a nifty little die from Your Next Stamp to cut the wholes.  Then I stitched with this delicious variegated wool I scored in the bargain basket the other day.  So pretty!!!

Inside it's a bit of a sunny explosion so I added a writing panel then stamped Taco John again, peeking onto the card and Lost Coast Designs Do I Smell Cake sentiment.

Eat More Fish

Hello Nomad friends.  It's very maritime here at my crafty corner at the moment.  I have a few bits lying around from previous projects so here is this gorgeous Hero Arts Layering Koi again.

The gold mirror panel is the one I cut my koi from the other day.  Seemed a pity to waste a nice negative cut.  I cut it with Stamplorations Double Stitch Die and embossed with Paper Discovery Waves embossing folder.  Then I cut another Hero Arts Koi from green mirror card and added him in the space.  I feel a never ending world of koi cards might be on the horizon bwahahahaaahahahaa.  I added a Kort og Godt Happy Birthday greeting, stamped on a scrap and cut with a stitch fishtail banner die.

Something Fishy

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you had a great weekend.  I spent two days dancing with a vicious little virus that came in Saturday morning with a hedgehog in my throat and then hit me with a herd of buffalos and left me feeling like a merry-go-round on a roller coaster.  Don't you just love it when annoying weekend visitors move along!!  Feeling very much more ooman today and found a sentiment to finish this A5 journal page I was working on.

I started with an A5 sheet of Marianne Designs Seabreeze papers.  I added some ripped dark blue strips and some dark blue glitter through a Rubber Dance stencil.  The light house and anchor are from UHK-Gallery Lighthouse papers, cut with Studio Light Mosaic ATC die.  I added an offset dark blue ATC behind each of these.  The fish were cut from some maritime themed wallpaper and the sentiment is ripped from a Prima journaling card.

OK, off to water the garden before my tomato plants give up totally.

Keep Swimming

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you have had a splendid day.  I started two projects this afternoon, in the hopes of getting one finished.  Hurrah, success, and the other one is only a few final details away from completion too, so definitely a win win day.  Actually, this one also had me stymied on which sentiment to use, so in the end I went with five!!!!!

I made a double Z-fold card with UHK-Gallery Lighthouse papers.  All the stamps and dies are Hero Arts.

I cut the large Hero Arts Layering Koi Fish die from mirror card and added a little promarker colour.  The Koi Bunch were stamped on white card, coloured with sharpies and fussy cut.  Then I stamped sentiments from Hero Arts Where To Next, Kelly's No Comment and Kelly's All Decked Out stamp sets.

Peace, Love and Harmony

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you are having a wonderful day.  I have some inspiration today for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Cats and Dogs Challenge with Pokey Dog and Dictionary Words Artist Trading Cards.  ATC's, little canvasses of joy, and with Pokey Dog involved you just have to smile don't you!!

I used three different colour inks on my three white ATC's.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Dictionary Words and then did a little off block stamping with a stamp from Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy set.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Pokey Dog on three different patterned paper scraps, fussy cut them and then added them to the ATC's.

Orange Hare

Hello Nomad friends.  I've been organising my scraps into colours which I find is the best place to start when working on a project.  Orange isn't a big player in my colour palettes, but I found a few pieces to put together with this lovely hare from Crafty Individuals.

I used some Spellbinder dies and an Amy Tangerine (more orange!! ROFL) embossing folder.
