Vampire Pig

Hello Nomad friends.  Do I have your attention bwahhhaaaaahahahaaaaaaa!!

Today I decided to clear of one of my chuck boxes.  I have a couple of these.  When the desk is full and I finally run out of patience I sweep everything into a box and declare it cleaned up!!   Problem is, the stuff tends to remain in these boxes.  So today I grabbed one and went through it.  Now some people would be tempted to just chuck the lot, but since I found three dies, a mound of stamped images, some already fussy cut, and a number of other interesting things, I am glad I took the time to go through it.   This card is made up of bits from the box, with a few tiny shiny negative cuts that should have made the bin, but didn't.

OK, let's show how my weird brain works and try and name those bits!!!  That Count Porkula, I think he's from DRS.  Adorbs!!!!  The skully danger sign is VLVS I think.  The witch is a left over from a Taylored Expressions die.  Having a blank on the poison bottle...... Any ideas???  The craft and white embossed 'hill' is a Rubber Dance stamp.  The layered hello is Stamplorations dies I think.  Then a few other scraps and of course those sparkly bits, all mounted on a green pearlescent card.

Thanks for dropping by.  More chuck box bits tomorrow I hope.  Hugz

50 Shades of Pink

Hello Nomad friends.  Lots of places are looking for pink, and Jo wants snow over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge so.....

I used the lovely sketch from 52 Weeks to Christmas and the adorably cute Penny Black woodblock Ginger Girl.

I hit the scrap box for most of the bits I used on this card.  Must organise this in colours!!!

Inside I stamped the ginger cutie and a happy Christmas sentiment

I coloured the ginger girl with distress markers and went hunting for a pink snowflake brad.  Oh, no a vital missing piece from the stash!!  But, I found a white one and coloured with Promarker for the perfect embellishment!!!

Napkins and Tea Lights

Hello Nomad friends.  I made a gift box today that holds serviettes and tealights.  A perfect hostess gift or a nice christmas thing to have on hand.

I used some snowball patterned card for the lid of the box and added some scallop cut scraps and a lovely printed image from a Maja Design patterned paper.  I tied with some red and gold twine and added a couple of layered Kort og Godt die cuts for the tag.

Inside I added a pack of pretty serviettes and 4 scented tea lights.

Goat Skull on Autumn Leaves

Hello Nomad friends.  Don't you just love Spooktober!!!   It is surely the most wonderful time of the year (part 1).   I have my first project of the month long 31 Days of Halloween Celebration over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  Today I have been playing with alcohol inks and Lost Coast Designs Large Goat Skull.

I made the background using drops of pink, green and yellow alcohol ink on a felt pad and dabbing it all over my glossy card.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background using orange and pink inks.  I stamped the Goat Skull on white card with black archival ink, fussy cut and added it to the card.  I coloured the flower with purple distress markers and finally stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Witches Go Riding sentiment.

Link up your Halloween inspired projects.  Anything related to the season, spooky, fruity, fun, scary or cute.  Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  A small stamped sentiment in a sea of die cuts or digi images will not qualify to win the prize and you may be deleted or fed to the giant pumpkin!!!!  Bwahahhaaahaha.

Somebunny Has a Birthday

Hello Nomad friends.  I think this bunny is my favourite stamp from Uniko.

For the background panel I used a second alcohol ink background that I made earlier today.  It's paler that the first one as I was just using up the ink on the pad.  I found a flowery scrap and cut it with a circle die.  I stamped the bunny on a scrap of pink leafy paper, do-crafts I think, and added a little distress marker pink colour to feet and ears.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.

Whining With Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  Yesterday was World Card Making Day and I did try LOL.  Today it's a perfect day to craft so I made a card and I'm going to chase a few WCMD challenges that are still open.

I recently rediscovered wood block stamps LOL.  Rubber is the best to stamp with and in the good old days wood blocks were the bees knees!!  I recently picked up some oldies, but goodies and these two friend, Art Impressions U-2837, are wineing together.  The background is navy card embossed with Nellie Snellen Summer Flowers embossing folder.  I smeared with Midnight archival ink to make the embossing pop.  I cut a piece of patterned paper for a hill and stamped, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut the two friends.  The sentiment is a Paperdesigns die with a pun on the word Friends.

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month and time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  You really must hop over and check out all the amazing cards that were exchanged this month.  So many talented ladies sending love one card at a time all around the world.

This month I sent my card to Linda in Michigan.

I used the colour option, teal, gold and candyfloss, and also the options of Flamingos, Fish and Foil, and I might grab Silhouette too for the white fish in the background..........
The fish paper is ummmmm, I'll get back to you on that.....Imaginisce!!  I used Studio Light Grunge dies for my gold accents and a Pink and Main sticker.  The flamingo is a fuzzy lemon die.

I received a gorgeous card from Robyn in Australia, thanks Robyn 💖.

If you would like to see Robyn's card, and all the other ones that were sent this month hop over and check out the REVEAL

Turtle Dreaming

Hello Nomad friends.  Hexagonal cards are a favourite of mine.  Let's join in with turtle dreaming.  Feel the peace as he coasts through gold and blue.

A yellow card base, a couple of layers of blue patterned paper, all cut with Daisy Mae hexagon dies.  I wiggled a piece of gold ribbon across the scene, a couple of studio light grunge die cuts cut from scraps of holographic card and a lovely Crafty Individuals turtle, also stamped on a scrap yellow patterned card. I added some watercolour paint to the turtle head and flippers.  The sentiment is from Carmen's Veranda stamped with archival ink.

Looking Back

Hello Nomad friends.   Do you ever look back through your blog to previous triumphs??  I am actually so glad that I started adding labels right from day one and occasionally I want to see what I did with a theme previously, or even check I am not repeating myself LOL, and the labels come in handy.  Then, when scrolling through the selected entries I sometimes come across a gem and think, wow, who made that!!!  Bwahahahaaahahhaaaa.

Today I made this, cos some days we need a card like this, and some days out heart just bleeds for man's inhumanity to everything.

I used a marbled card panel and Memory Box Tree of Wonder cut from black textured wallpaper.  I added a red heart cut using Memory Box Cuppa Love die.  The rather magnificent grungy line flourish is a Kort og Godt stamp and the sentiment is the first one I found that fit.

Thanks for dropping by.  Remember it's better to love that hate and it's better to make than destroy. HUGZ

Hard Rock - A Study in Silence

Hello Nomad friends.  Llama tell you, the Atacama dessert is the driest desert in the world.  Most of it is in northern Chile and it contains a fast fashion clothes mountain that can be seen from space.  Personally I find that mind boggling.  Not that we discard so many clothes, since humans seem to be a particularly wasteful and careless species, but that they have been dumped/are being dumped in such a remote location in such enormous quantities.  No wonder this llama looks so thoughtful.

I used a Kort og Godt patterned card for my card base that made me think of hard pan and marble.  I found a pale scrap of patterned paper and ripped it to give my llama somewhere to stand.  I stamped and die cut Hero Arts Llama and lots of clouds from the Cowboy Adventure stamp set on lots of little white scraps.  So glad for those little cloud dies LOL.

Autumn Moon

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with a tag featuring a twinchie and a domino for the Inchie Twinchie Domino Challenge.

I started by cutting a tag from Bazzill Lima Bean card using a Daisy Mae die and stamped Lost Coast Designs Leaves using Hero Arts green ombre ink pad.  I stamped the moon and the sentiment of some yellow patterned card and applied some distress marker colour.  The Moon panel is a twinchie (2" x 2") and the sentiment panel is a domino (2" x 1")

For September we want to see your stamped makes featuring Inchies (1" x 1"), Twinchies (2" x 2"), and/or Dominos (2" x 1")  You can make said Inchies, Twinchies or Dominos with real rubber or clear stamping, or you can incorporate these sizes into your project in another way, perhaps chop up your background, or your foreground, cut windows, or maybe make a three dimensional shape, or a tiny album.
The team is sharing awesome projects all month so do scroll down and hop over to check out all the amazing inspiration.

Penguining Around

Hello Nomad friends.  I had this lovely card base on the desk for a while and decided to combine it with this fantastically adorable Art Impressions Santa and penguins stamp.

I stamped Art Impressions UMU4170 on white card, coloured with sharpies and fussy cut the top of the image.  I stamped a couple of Kort og Godt postage stamp with a suitable theme and appropriate sentiments and added all the images to the patterned card base.  Ho ho ho indeed!!!!

The Wild Remembers

Hello Nomad friends.  I had a package of crafty goodies from a friend the other day and decided to combine some of the papers and chipboard leaves with a lovely tutorial from Darline for a beautiful and easy gatefold card.

This is the front of the card closed.  I've used two of the chipboard leaves to hold the front closed.  Pretty nature papers unknown.  The sentiment is a Papirdesigns stamp set.

This is the inside of the card opened flat.  The large leaves are chippys everything else is papers and another stamped sentiment from Papirdesigns.  In the centre is a concertina pocket for tags, money, photos, snacks!  Thin snacks LOL.

This is the backside when the card is laid flat.
