Whack a Kitty

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  Make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone is a winner!!   Brilliant concept, faultlessly executed every month.  Well, maybe not faultlessly bwahahhaahahaa.  Forgot to photo my card last month!  This month I forgot to write in it!!  Sorry Kath, I was probably too busy playing with it ho ho oh!!!

But!! I just have to say I managed to use ALL the options this month!!   Not sure I have ever managed that before.  Full House!!!   This is the card I sent to Kath in the UK.

Isn't he cute!!!   I used Lost Coast Designs Fat Cat stamp and added a die cut moustache to cover the cat and moustache options.  I used the colours of walnut, lavender and jade and the sketch.  It's a twister card, made with scraps, and the friendship option will be revealed shortly.  Full House!!!

Ta Dah.  In addition to the Lost Coast Designs Fat Cat I also used Lost Coast Designs Large Foliage stamp and the large flower from ATC Doodle Flowers stamp.  There is method in my madness because the new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.  The cat was stamped on some kraft scraps from pizza box and a lolly box.  I also used scraps of black for moustaches, green scraps for circles and purple scraps for the flowers.  Full details and step by step over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.

Press play for more fun than a box of chocolate frogs!!

Hearts and Baubles

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, the last of the month.  Maybe there is still time to join a last few challenges.  I made another Christmas bauble card and I've used Hunkydory toppers for the main image.  Perhaps I should set myself a challenge to use some of these every month.  Stay tuned...........

I used a silver base card and added a navy scrap panel embossed with a hearts embossing folder.  I found some silver scrap and cut with a bauble die and embossed with a sizzix christmas jumper type folder.  I used the bauble die to cut a hanger for the Hunkydory circle and arranged everything in an ascetically pleasing manner with some pretty wool strings.

Baiting Me Hook at Lava Lake

Hello Nomad friends.  Sometimes I can't be bothered to wait for the paint to dry and I ended up with a very interesting, albeit rather volcanic looking background.  But dragons like it toasty so it seemed the perfect place for this fishing fellow.

I started by brayering red acrylic paint onto some photo paper and when it was nearly dry I sponged on some grey acrylic onto a rays stencil and pressed it into the red paint.  Interesting effect and texture when I peeled the stencil off.    I stamped Whimsy Stamps Fishing Dragon on white card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  Then I added a Memory Box Happy Birthday chippy.

It's a Cracker

Hello Nomad friends.  Had a few new goodies for christmas.  Finally got a cracker die.  This one is from John Next Door and makes a small hexagonal cracker, which is quite roomy.  Or should that be spacey???  No rooms involved, only space??  Easy to use and a fun result.  I gave it a go with some Pink Ink papers and some Hero Art stamps and dies.

Aren't they adorbs.  I went with his and hers colours and used some sparkly foiled ribbon to tie the ends.  I used Hero Arts Snowy Drifts fancy die to cut the background tree scene and then Hero Arts Jingle All the Way stamps with matching dies for the deer and sentiments.  Cute!!!  Now to find a cracker box to  store them in........

Break The Rules

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made a card using predominantly Funky Fossil products.

I used a scrap of Good Vibes paper to cover the rhs of the card base.  I stamped the tree from The Poetry of Trees on Feeling Groovy paper using black archival and silver powder embossed.  The silver didn't stick everywhere and I decided that was OK and fussy cut the image.  I stamped some other elements from the Trees set on the same paper and die cut them.  The sentiment is from Midnight Feathers.

Catching UFO's

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Sunday.  Hope you have had a wonderful day.  I haven't done so much, but I did get into the craft room and finish a couple of UFO's.  The first one has been waiting on me finding a particular die that had vanished.  Turns out I was looking for a thin die stack set and this one is actually a bigz die.  That made my idea a little bit more tricky but I sorted it out in the end........

This is my third entry for the Crafty Individuals black and white challenge.  I stamped the background stamp on white card and cut with the star die.  Then I backed the star panel with a black card panel cut slightly larger.  I stamped the Sea Turtle, fussy cut and added him to the card.

Dragon Bright

Hello Nomad friends.  Birthdays on the horizon.  Made a bright and beautiful card using Memory Box dies and this very cute dragon from Sweet November.

I used an orange card base and die cut a burnt orange frame using Memory Box Palace Oval Frame.  The dragon was stamped on a painty scrap and fussy cut.  I added a little extra orange to highlight his spines, horns and face.  I used another scrap cut with a Waffle Flower postage die under the Memory Box Happy Birthday chippie.

Room for two so stay tuned for more dragon action.......

December Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Hello Nomad friends.  Don't Panic!!!!  Today is obviously not the 2nd of the month, but since my brain malfunctioned last month and I forgot to take a picture of my card, and since it seems said card has been partying somewhere between here and Texas, I am just really late with my reveal.  Anyhoo, here it is, finally with Patricia in Texas.  Thanks for sending the pic Patricia.

I used this wonderful Impression Obsession stamp, added a little colour, die cut with a fancy edge die and added some little foiled stars.  I've always thought this image is hilarious cos I assumed the little house is an outhouse.  I should think if you are flying around in an open sleigh in the middle of winter you would need to go before you go......    Off to add this one to the reveal.

Back to Black

Hello Nomad friends.  Made a simple Xmas card today using black card base and panel and then some embossed rose gold mirror card for a fabulous pop of bling.  Camera didn't do too shabby a job on this difficult subject today.

I used bauble impresslits to cut and emboss the bauble and Papirdesigns God Jul dies also cut from the rose gold card.  The impresslit folder is having it's first outing with me but the black card, rose gold mirror and god jul dies are old treasures.

Pretty Parrot

Hello Nomad friends.  I got some crafty bargains yesterday and picked up some new neon alcohol inks.  I decided to have a play because they were surely perfect for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Bright and Cheerful challenge.  We want to see your bright and cheerful stamped anythings for January so join us and kick those winter blues.  I've used Lost Coast Designs Polly Parrot on my pretty alcohol ink background.  Polly is a fairly new addition to the Lost Coast Designs catalogue and this is her first outing with me.

I made the alcohol ink background and then stamped Polly Parrot directly on the background using archival black ink.  I added some colour to Polly using sharpies and a bit of white gel pen.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs ATC Doodle Heart on red card with sepia archival and fussy cut.  Then I stamped the Carmen's Veranda Weird People sentiment using black archival and cut around the parrots head so I could slip the heart in place.  I used a double stitch die to cut the panel and mounted on a black cardbase.

Thanks for dropping by.   Grab your Bright and Cheerful colours and stamps and join the fun.  The team will be sharing all month, so do pop back hop over and check out their awesome makes and inspiration.

Let's Get Weeny

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been trying to find my desk under a veritable pile of stuff.  The job is ongoing, interrupted by finding hidden treasure that distract me and make me get out more stuff to make a thing.  I'm sure you know what I mean, unless you don't, but the good news is I finished a thing from mostly desk treasures and the desk is also starting to look a bit better.  Win, win me thinks.

I do like a bit of spook anytime of the year.  I bought this lovely Halloween Assemblage die from Poppystamps before christmas and this is it's first outing.  I was pleasantly surprized with the size of each element and that ghost is just spooktacular isn't he!!!

So, I found this on the desk!!  Why did I cast this aside earlier??  Who knows.  Maybe it's a bit primative.  Maybe it didn't hit the spot however long ago I made it.  It's an embossed scene and I think that's distress oxides I used to colour the tree and house and black pencil for the fence.

I cut the Halloween bits from various gold scraps and I found this abandoned card base which looks like I was trying a northern lights technique and ended up with too much mud!  But after die cutting the panel I liked the effect of the colours at the top and clean at the bottom.

Put it all together and done!!

Chocolate and Money

Hello Portal Peeps!!  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with some Bright and Cheerful inspiration.   Yellow and Orange always make me happy so I did some ink blending and grabbed Lost Coast Designs Fat Cat.

I blended yellow and orange distress inks then stamped with Lost Coast Designs ATC Doodle Flowers stamp using red ink.  The cat was stamped on a piece of card that I had coloured with distress inks and stamped with Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy stamps.  To finish I stamped parts of Carmen's Veranda Chocolate and 8 Millions Dollars sentiment.   I left out the hard life bits and stayed with chocolate and money, cos what's happier than chocolate, and if you have money you can buy more chocolate!!

Charlie and Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been really inspired by the Crafty Individuals challenge of black and white.  I have been a follower of Crafty Individuals for many many years and love their detailed rubber stamps.  So I am sad to tell you, if you don't know already, that Jean has announced they will be closing.  Sad that another industry old friend will be departing.  The fiasco with the bankruptcy of the TV channel last year, which left many small businesses seriously out of pocket, and the continued problem with copied designs are two major factors.  I know some people still don't accept that buying cheap stolen designs from chinese sites has an impact, but it does.  Many of these familiar brands are small family owned companies.  Maybe just one or two people trying to make a living from their art and designs.  It doesn't take much to tip over the apple cart.  I will be sorry to see Crafty Individuals fade away, but I am sure I will still be using their lovely stamps for many years to come.

Here's the card I  made today using Crafty Individuals beautiful Full Steam Ahead collage style background.  The blokes are a different stamp, 3 Wise Gentlemen, collaged onto the collage background.  I used a Paperdesigns die which is a generic happy greeting covering birthday and other celebrations, and cut a black glitter circle in two and added it for some sparkly interest.

If you would like to help Jean and Malcolm out, and get yourself a bargain, you can use the code THEBIGSALE and get 35% off your order at Crafty Individuals.

Here Be Gold

Hello Nomad friends.  Working in shades of gold tonight with Poppystamp dies.  Do love this large Sugarplum Faerie die and often use it without the wings for that prima ballerina look.

I used Daisy Mae distressed arch die for the gold cardstock base.  I cut Poppystamps Leafy Branch Oval, a new one for me, from holographic gold card and the ballerina from plain gold mirror card.

Another Happy Dog

Hello Nomad friends.  Crafty Individuals have set a fun black and white challenge on their fb page and I decided to use this lovely detailed dog as my focal point and a couple of nice background stamps to make the background.  Obviously a genius level decision that one LOL.

The background panels were scraps left over from a Christmas poloroid project.  I stamped a pair with Crafty Individuals Crackle Background and another pair with the Inky Script Background stamp and arranged them on my card base.  I stamped Happy Dog and fussy cut him.  I used the happy birthday stamp from Crafty Individuals Words and Pictures set, cutting off the flowers either side of the sentiment and edging with black ink.  Then I used a couple of black scraps to  complete the collar.

Happy Dog

Hello Nomad friends.  Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are feeling all Bright and Cheerful this month, so as long as it has stamping, is bright and makes you happy you can link it up!!   I decided to do some scrappy stamping and fussy cut this happy Pokey Dog to get my brights.

My pink panel is an old piece of 49th and Market patterned card.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Round Shadow Frame with red archival ink.  This is a flat stamp and it's picked up the texture on the card stock, which is quite a pretty effect.  Like that.  I stamped Pokey Dog in place with black ink, to save cutting out all those tricky bits, then stamped him again on a fun colour scrap, fussy cut and placed him on the card.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Happy Birthday and I was told there would be cake sentiments, cos what's a birthday without cake!!!

I hope the new year has brought you new inspiration and creativity.  The Lost Coast Designs team will be sharing bright and cheerful all month, so do hop over to check out their awesome makes and join the fun.

Waiting for Peace

Hello Nomad friends.  My first Christmas card of 2025!!   Well, it's never to soon to start.  Catching the end of some challenges and the beginning of others.

See, not overwhelmingly Christmas, but I used a new to me Hero Arts stamp called Snowflake Pattern Bold Prints, and my old most favourite Hero Arts Bird Words.  Here comes peace, late to the party, but we are ever hopeful that he will make a safe landing.

Thanks for dropping by.  Mr Mojo is in fine form, and it cold and white outside so I'm hoping for a crafty weekend.  Hugz

Rosalie

Hello Nomad friends.  1st post of the year and I'm using some lovely papers from ScrapBoys called Rosalie for a pretty and simple happy birthday.

This is a new pack of papers that were too pretty to use, but you gotta bite the bullet and chop em up sometime haven't you???!   I used Cheery Lynn French Pastry die and angel wing for the doily.
