Sweet Spring

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling springy so got out this cute Snoesjes image from Marianne Design and coloured in fresh greens.

I tried to position her so it looked like she was sitting on the edge of the embossed area, but maybe she looks like she is levitating a bit!!

I used a cool embossing folder from Marianne Design that also cuts out some sections.  I highlighted the embossed design with green distress ink.  The background paper is also Marianne Design.

I stamped and embossed the girl, fussy cut her and coloured with Promarkers.  Then I popped her up on foam pads to add some dimension.

And Glitter On Top

Hello.  Welcome.  It's Rudolf Days!!!!!

I embossed the background using Poppystamps House in the Woods die.  I used green distress ink to highlight the embossed area and also smeared it around a bit to give the green panel some texture.  I cut some scraps of white paper with Memory Box Gentle Stitched Landscape dies.  I cut and embossed Memory Box Frosted Christmas Tree and then hit it with the glitter:  Merry merry everyone.

And a Feather Duster

Hello.  Welcome.  Did you miss me??  10 days away from my craft room!  But I survived!!  Of course I did.  Finally got some time tonight and started gently with an ATC.  Unity wants to see something old made new.  Well, I got plenty of old.  Ain't it great to revisit some of the forgotten goodies.

Mama said there would be days like this.  Well, indeed.  All stamps are from Unity Just Me kit.  I cut my ATC from green textured card and stamped it with the leopard print stamp and green ink.  Then I discovered a feather duster.   Well, I think that's what it is. Anyway, I stamped it and the sentiment in black and then also went around the edge of the ATC with it.  I stamped the girl many times on various patterned paper scraps and paper pieced her.  Rather like this Irish beauty.

The Dog Says.....

Hello.  Welcome.  A new challenge starting over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and it's Say What??  We want to see those punny sayings and wise quotes.  Words, words, words, the more the better.  Here's a little postcard inspiration from me to get you started.....

I used Lost Coast Designs Drake Dog and the fun saying is from Carmen's Veranda.  If you haven't checked out all the Carmen's Veranda sayings you really should.  This one is called Be Crazy Be Stupid.  I have used prima fluid chalk and Memory Box shine stencil in the background.  Drake Dog was stamped, embossed and fussy cut and coloured with Promakers.  Do hop over to the blog and check out the rest of the inspiration from the team and join up your wordy wonder for a chance to win some Lost Coast Dollars.  See you there!!

Penguin Dreaming

Hello.  Welcome.  Middle of the month and I thought we could take a trip to middle earth where penguins dream, carving their stories into the walls of special underwater caves, and teaching their little penguins all about it.  Are you with me??  OK, here we go...

Squeeeeee!!  Penguin school!  Inspired by Playful Penguins and Rock Carving stamps from Rubber Dance and their colours this month that are lavender, black and grey.

I started with Colourcraft Aztec paints.  I used a mix of blue, pink and purple.  These babies glimmer and shimmer.

I put a big blob in the middle of a piece of glossy paper and used my finger to spread them around.  This was messy!  And a lot of fun!!  But there was still a lot of paint so I got another sheet of glossy paper, pressed it into the paint and pulled it off.  Still too much paint so I took another print.  So now I have three sheets of paper.  I picked the one I liked best.

I cut around the edge of my paint blob and then used Rubber Dance Rock Carvings, Versamark ink and metallic red Zing embossing powder, which I thought gave that authentic ocher look.  I adjusted the little man stamp by cutting a mask which included a beak.  To make my flock of penguins I stamped and embossed the little man, used an embossing pen to add a beak, embossed it, masked and repeated.  A flock of penguins!!!  They seem to be having a chat with other cave denizens!  I used black brilliance ink around the edge of the 'cave' to add a shadow.

OK, background.  30 x 30cm Bazzill Blackberry paper, Fossilised Amber distress oxide and Memory Box Shine stencil.

Foreground.  I stamped the ice flow stamps from Rubber Dance Playful Penguins and fussy cut the tops.  Then I masked the ice floes, rubbed purple, violet and sea green brusho's into the paper and spritzed with water.

I put it all together and added some Playful Penguins.  I adjusted the angle of their heads and coloured them with Promarkers and distress inks.  So, there you have Penguin Dreaming.  Or maybe just mine........

Thanks for dropping by.  The Rubber Dance challenge run until the end of the month. You can use the colours and/or circles.  Don't forget to hop over and check out the rest of the inspiration from the team and if you are shopping at Rubber Dance you can get free worldwide shipping with my code GTFreeShip when you spend over €15!  Hugz

Unicorn Sunset

Hello.  Welcome.  I won this Visible Image set from Ink Art Designs and this is it's first outing with me.  When I get a new product I like to start simply, so maybe someone has done this before, but this ones mine!!!

I used a hammered card base, stamped the unicorn and the sentiment from Visible Image's Believe In Unicorns and embossed with black powder.  Then I stamped the moon with Fossilised Amber DO.  It did not wipe nicely off the embossed area!!  I ended up re-embossing the unicorns head to get it glossy again.  I sprinkled red brusho powder and used my finger to rub the dry powder into the background.  Then I spritzed with water.  Wish I had taken a before and after photo cos that explosion of colour was pretty glorious!!

A Rainbow of Happy Mail

Hello.  Welcome.  I made a postcard featuring happy mail!!!

I cut Poppystamps Mail Stack die, made it a rainbow of colour using Promarkers and pieced it back into the postcard.  It started white, but it looked too stark so I gave it a wash of DI Spiced Marmalade and splashed some water on it.  I stamped the sentiment from Stamplorations, splitting it between the envelope and the bottom of the card, and stamped, coloured and fussy cut Mini Bunny Tilda stamp.

Sly Fox Goes Bold

Hello.  Welcome.

I started with a piece of 6 x 4 white card.  I used a slightly smaller black panel and cut the aperture using Poppy Stamps House in the Woods die and removed the house.  I used Memory Box Gentle Stitched Landscape dies with a scrap of card to make the snowy foreground.  Then I paper pieced Poppy Stamps Sly Fox using scraps of blue card and added a couple of googly eyes.

Say it With Words

Hello.  Welcome.  Mixing my media with an Angie girl, spring and some pretty colours.

The girl and sentiment are both from Unity Stamps Twinkle set.  I stamped the sentiment with colourbox blue dye ink and the girl with Watering Can archival ink.  I coloured the girl with distress inks giving her top more colour at the top that the bottom for an ombre look.  The ground is a bit ombre as well.  I masked her and added a bit of background detail with distress oxide fossilised amber through Memory Box shine stencil.

Ahoy There!

Hello.  Welcome.   I love the Card Chain Challenge.  Make a card, send a card, get a card. Cardmakers obviously love making cards and we all love happy mail, so this is a perfect combination.  And every month we reveal all the cards that have whizzed their way around the planet.  Here's the card I sent to Nathalie in Canada for the February exchange.

I used the sketch, had a bash at the colours and used the options of torn edges, dogs and friendship.  Well, they look like great friends!  I used a kraft base and added a layer of handmade paper that I ripped.  The stamp is from High Hopes and is called Andy and Patch, coloured with Promarkers.  I added some gold swirly wire that was hanging around on my desk and used a sentiment stamp that came in a magazine and some purple ink.

Do hop over and check out the full reveal and if you would like to join the fun the March Sign Up is open until March 7th.  See you there.  Hugz
