More Fun Than Snow in Tenerife

Hello.  Welcome.  Some days this hobby is just so satisfying.  No, not those days when you've maxed out the credit card in the craft shop!  Although, you do have a point there!!   No, I'm talking about when you have made something, and you sit back, look at it and say COOL!!!!!   Cos I believe, at the end of the day, if you are happy with your make, then all is right with the world.  And I am happy with this.  Squeeeeeeee

I have been trying to work out how to get this turtle from Dare 2 B Artsy Turtle Couple into a winter wonderland.  I had a vision of him surfing down a snowy slope shell side down, but his legs were all wrong!!  Instead of looking like he was having fun he looked like, well, an upside down turtle!!  Then I realised, the legs were all wrong!!  So I cut em off, added another one and rearranged them.  Whheeeeeeeee!  Snow surfing turtle.

I used Sizzix tag and mixed media die.  Stamplorations Stitched Snowy Hills die
Stamplorations Holiday words plate die.  Artistic stamper Material background stamp.  Dare 2 B Artsy Turtle Couple and Midnight Blue dye ink.  Promarkers.

I Want To Be Under A Tree

Hello.  Welcome.  I really would like to be here.

An ATC using My Island stamps from Waltzing Mouse

I cut my ATC using a Sizzix die.  I stamped and embossed the palm tree stamp.  Then I stamped the sunrise stamp using Spiced Marmalade distress ink and extended the sun rays using my water brush.  I edged and smudged with the same distress ink.

I cut Stamplorations small luggage tag from shrink plastic, stamped with the small tree stamp and my island dream sentiment and the sunrise stamp and skrunk it.  I attached it with a mini orange brad and added a sweet kissing couple silver metal charm from Korthobby.no.

Under a Rudolf Moon

Hello.  Welcome.  It's January and the first Rudolf Days of the year are in full swing.

I used Blank Page Muse colours of Turquose, Silver and Sparkle and one of Pagemaps January cardmaps.  A turquoise panel on a dark turquoise base card with Taylored Expressions Twinkle Twinkle stamp embossed with silver powder and a wiggly line of silver glitter glue.  I cut silver and silver glitter card with Stamplorations Stitched Snowy Hills dies.  The reindeer from Paperartsy ZN19 was stamped on silver card and silver embossed.  I fussy cut the antlers and used a circle die.  I added turquoise glitter glue to the antlers and coloured with Promarkers and a white gel pen.  The stars and Poppystamp Merry were cut from silver mirror card.

Righteously Confused

Hello.  Welcome.  Found me a new place to play - Canvas Corp Creative Studio.  Their January challenge is called 'Be Lazy'.  Well, count me in!!  I love being lazy.  I even have the t-shirt.  It says 'good at being lazy'.  So lazy and lace.  I can do that.  Actually, the results of being lazy were pretty cool.

I was pretty sure I had some printed ATC's from 7Gypsys from way back when.  Turns out they were tags.  And I know I have Tattered Angels mists and glazes.

I took 5 of the tags.  I knew I wanted that pretty blue one as the focal point.  I glued them onto a piece of card.  Usually I would have tried to save the bits that you won't see, but we're being lazy aren't we? so I just glued em down.

Then I cut them with a stitched rectangle die.  I had originally intended to run the lace in two vertical lines behind the blue tag, but realised my image would cover it on the LHS, so I just added a double row top left and ran a piece along the bottom of the panel.

I stamped the Rubber Dance 29 again?? and make a wish stamps with brown archival and ran drips of Tattered Angels Gold Glimmer Mist down the card.  They needed a bit of help over the layered tag but very pleased with the drippy runs and the gold shimmer.  Then I added Carmen's Veranda Oz Scarecrow, stamped on kraft card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.

Quick Duck

Hello.  Welcome.  Dies R Us have a Kids Cards challenge.  But I decided I probably wasn't going to be making any kids cards.  Then an order, coincidentally from Dies R Us, made super quick time from the US.  Order to delivery 1 week!!  That's pretty swifty.  And inside was a die from Die-versions - Build an Animal 1.  So I decided to give it a test drive and build a duck.  Fastest duck in history.  Love it.

Neon duck!!!  The Die-versions Fence Background was also in the delivery.  I cut it from dark blue card and mounted on a blue metallic base.  Then I cut the Fuzzy Lemon? new baby heart from the same cards.

Gymnasty

Hello.  Welcome.  Made an ATC with bright colours, texture paste and a very wise woman.

The stamps are from VLVS, Circus Lady and I Didn't Make It and Bulls Eye Target stamps.  I stamped, embossed and fussy cut Circus Lady.  I made a stencil using Sizzix Chevron die and the 'x's' are negative cuts from a Sizzix Mixed Media die.

Tre

Hello.  Welcome.  These appeal to my CAS soul.

I've made a set of three ATC's featuring trees.  Three trees.  I cut silver card using a Sizzix die.  Then I cut white card using Stamplorations Stitched Winter Landscape die.  I coloured the trees with Promarkers and gave the snow a wash of iridescent watercolour medium, which gives a lovely little sparkle.

How Hip is My Hippo

Hello.  Welcome.  I made a thank you card for a friend.  In purple.  With hippos.  Purple hippos.  Well, why not.......

The hippos and the sentiment are from a new to me Happy Little Stamper Birthday Friends stamp set.  The stamp I used in the background is from Lost Coast Designs and is called Pondscum.  It's a bit of an unfortunate name for a very lovely stamp.  I think I will be using this one a lot.  But today is it's first outing.  NBUS.  I've used a sketch from Pagemaps and I am using shades of purple from Paperbabes inspiration photo.  Sorry about the bow.  It wouldn't behave and I ended up glueing it in place.  STAY!!

Little Blue Dudette

Hello.  Welcome.  I have been working on clearing some UFO's and this one kept giving me the eye.  So, despite thinking this was going to be something to do with trees, here's a card with the other two stamps from the Greeting Farm's Winter Greeting set.

A slightly warmer blue than yesterday's chilly card.  I used Poppystamps Snowflake Oval Collage die and backed it with a silver glitter card layer.  The girl was stamped, embossed, fussy cut and coloured with distress inks.  I added a white plastic star button that I covered with silver glitter glue to her hat.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I would like to thank my blogland friend Diane for the crazy stitch die that arrived today.  Big hugs my friend.

Runaway Reindeer

Hello.  Welcome.  Gosh, January is galloping on apace and my wish to join in with more challenges is kinda working.  Loved Kimberly's card at Muse Christmas Visions and knew I had the perfect stamp.  Unfortunately, Rudolf had legged it and, despite searching all the likely places, he seemed to have vanished.  I know I used him at Christmas!  Then last night, after I had given up hope of finding him, the gremlins returned him!!  I moved one piece of card, that I am sure I put there a few hours before, and there he was.  So, here he is.

I stamped the Panduro deer on a piece of white card, fussy cut his foot and used a stitch die to cut the panel.  Then I masked him and stamped the sentiment from the same set.  I coloured with distress inks and my waterbrush, which has Windsor and Newton iridescent watercolour medium in it, so everythng it touches gets a little glimmer of sparkle.  I used a gold pilot marker for the star and bell.

Gosh, two xmas cards already this year.  Off to a wonderful start.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Yellow and Fluffy

Hello.  Welcome.  Loved a card by Heather over at the Winnie and Walter blog and I am still feeling yellow and black so........

I used Winnie and Walter's Do You See What I See die.  I paper pieced with three shades of yellow, two card and one that was a sort of fluffy stuff.  I also cut the W&W Thanks die from the fluffy stuff.  That's why some of those die lines look a bit furry.

Familiar and Friend

Hello.  Welcome.  I have an ATC over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today.  If you want all the details and my take on colouring, gold versus black, and that amazing disappearing leaf, then hop over and check it out.

This is Lost Coast Designs Owlynn, stamped, embossed and coloured with sharpies, Promarkers and distress inks.  Well, mix those media, why not indeed!!  The best friends sentiment is a Carmen Veranda clear stamp.  I highly recommend a look at these cos there are a lot that should have a 'don't read while drinking your coffee' warning.  Just saying.....

The challenge for this fortnight is I Am Woman so get out your women and stamp!!

On Vintage Wings

Hello.  Welcome.  Just popping by to remind you that the Rubber Dance challenge is ongoing with a choice of colours and or the theme of Vintage.  Some lovely inspiration on the blog today so do hop over and check it out and leave the team a little love.  Here's a little taster from me......

I used a blue card base, light blue card and kraft.  I based my design on a sketch from Pagemaps.  The main panel is stamped with Rubber Dance Vintage Flourishes with some distress ink splats.  The small panel and the sentiment panel were both stamped with Rubber Dance Vintage Ads stamps.  The butterfly is from Rubber Dance Butterfly Trio and the sentiment and heart stamp are from Rubber Dance Norwegian Greetings.  I stamped the sentiment with Potting Soil archival.  It says 'a little greeting' in Norwegian.  All other inks are distress inks.

and/or VINTAGE
