When I Grow Up

Hello.  Welcome.  I was lucky enough to win some stamps at Nordsalten Hobbyklubb last month and one was suitable for their current challenge, card for a child.

I stamped Whimsy Stamps Fireman and fussy cut part of the image so I could use Sizzix Mixed Media die in the background.  I water coloured the fireman with distress inks and gold and silver pilot markers.  I cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp Stitched dies and mounted on a metallic gold card base.  Thanks to the ladies at Nordsalten Hobbyklubb and the sponsor Bokuben i Førde, for that cool stamp.  Hugz

Have Yourself A Very Dotty Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.  It's Rudolf Days!!  That extra little incentive to restock the Christmas card pile.  It's a bit early to find a winner for 2017, but I quite like this one.  Except for the fussy cutting!!  That was super expert level 3.

Stamplorations large Snowman stamped and coloured with promarkers and gold pilot marker and fussy cut.  The background was a offcut from a gold card.  I added a scrap of white card cut with Stamplorations Stitched Snow die and then decided I wanted some dots.  The scraps bag yielded a couple of pieces of gold glitter paper, just big enough to die cut some big dots.

A Mouse Called Rosie Lee

Hello.  Welcome.  Found a toad in the basement today.  It blinked sleepily at me whilst trying to negotiate it's way around some bags of potatoes.  I carried it to the pond.  It must be spring.

I used the lovely sketch from Repeat Impressions and a stamp from High Hopes called Tea For Two.   I was inspired by Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #300 (colours and theme).   I coloured with distress inks and my waterbrush.  I used Sizzix dies to cut the aperture and the oval.  The basecard is MME patterned paper.

Magical Teacup

Hello.  Welcome.  Inspired by tea and cupcakes and small worlds.

I was inspired by Cupcake Inspirations 116

I cut my tag using Stamplorations large Luggage Tag die from green card.  I added a strip of white card stenciled with Stamplorations stencil and Mowed Lawn distress ink.  I stamped the teacup from Unity's 2/17 KOTM, coloured with distress inks and fussy cut.  I stamped Rubber Dance happy birthday sentiment on shrink plastic, coloured with Mowed Lawn distress, cut with the smallest Stamplorations luggage tag and skrunk it.

Can't Beat A Cup Of Keemun

Hello.  Welcome.  So, in case you missed it, the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is going on and I am finally joining the party.

I used a gold base card and cut Poppystamps Diamond Background from green pp.  I removed some of the negative cuts.  I cut Poppystamps Teapot stack from gold card and paper pieced with floral paper.  The sentiment is a Stamploration die cut.

Coming Of Age

Hello.  Welcome.  Here in Scandanavia confirmation season is fast approaching, so I decided to make a male confirmations card.  I am still on black and white and I quite like the look.

I've used a white card base and added a panel that I die cut with Stamplorations Crazy Double Stitched rectangle die.  I stamped the panel with a Paperartsy postcard stamp and embossed with black.  I cut a large cog from white card using Spellbinders cog die and stamped the sentiment from Kort og Godt and inked the edges of the cog to give it a bit of a grungy feel.  I stamped the boy from the same Kort og Godt set, fussy cut him and added him to the card.

Missing Persons

Hello.  Welcome.  I am enjoying the inspiration supplied by Lost Coast Portal to Creativity to work in black and white.  From the simple to the complex the visual and textural possibilities are striking and stimulating.  I went very CAS with this one.  And black and white, of course

I used stamps from Stamplorations Born to Roam set and white embossing on a black card.  Uhhh, yep, that just about covers it.

Umbrella Required

Hello.  Welcome.  I like to join the Korthobby challenge, but this month the theme was Steampunk, which isn't my thing really.  But then again, sometimes it's good to get out of your comfort zone.....

For my kraft panel I stamped various Paperartsy stamps with Frayed Burlap distress ink and then did some selective cutting with Spellbinders Cogs dies.  I die cut Sizzix Umbrella Man from black handmade paper.

I combined these two metal charms from Korthobby and added some small steampunk images from Docraft patterned paper and glossy accents into the frames.

The Three Ages of Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  Our cat was 19, going on twenty.  Never met such a wise old queen.  My man has had her since she was a tiny meow.  She has lived in this house longer than me.  She will be missed.

I made three ATC's in black and white using Lost Coast's Happy Cat and Repeat Impressions Tswana Pattern for the background.  The cats were stamped and embossed, black on white, white on black and black on black, and fussy cut.

Too Much Vacation

Hello.  Welcome.  I had an idea.  It looked good in my head.  I have been working on it for a few days now.  That's not as bad as it seems!  It wasn't like it was 24 7!!  And there are mitigating circumstances.  Queen Clean took a long weekend and Princess Simple just couldn't get her brain cell round it.  Then the masking team popped out for coffee and cake at a very vital moment.  It might have been OK if they had remembered the cake!!!   Ah well, CAS rejects litter the desk.  Might make a very interesting edition of WoYWW....

CASology wanted Foliage and I had this Sin City Circles Trail stamp on my desk and I thought 'If I stand that up and stamp it in green it will look like a topary tree'.  Are you with me??   Then I wanted to get punny so I stamped my 'tree' 5 times so it could look like a maze?!!? and added a sentiment from Unity.  I stamped the sentiment on hammered card and then drew the sign around it, fussy cut and popped it up on foam dots.  Gosh, are you sure there's no cake??

And a Lovely Picnic

Hello.  Welcome.  Enjoying a cup of coffee, and I bet she has some snacks in that bag as well.......

I stamped the girl from Unity's A Summer Story with black Archival ink on white card.  I used a black watercolour pencil and a water brush to add some floor and fussy cut the top of the image.  I cut the top edge of the panel and the bottom edge of a piece of black stripey paper with one of Stamplorations Snowy Hills dies.  I mounted the two pieces on a white base card.  Done.

Everything You Need

Hello.  Welcome.  Been meaning to join the De-Egel challenge of food and drink.  Thought I'd missed it but it seems the linky still has an hour or so to run so I made a tag inspired by Andreea's card.

I went green, cos that seems to be the colour of the month.  The tags were cut using Stamplorations Luggage Tag dies.  The large one is yellow card, generously smeared with Mowed Lawn distress ink.  The smaller one was cut using the medium and small dies from paper I had coloured with green and blue Brusho's, then smeared with Cracked Pistachio.  The coffee cup and sentiment are from Unity A Summer Story kit.  I stamped and fussy cut the cup and coloured with red Promarker and Cracked Pistachio.  I stamped the sentiment using Iced Spruce and then repeatedly stamped it with Cracked Pistachio all over the tag.  The tone on tone gives a nice texture effect.  Green bobbly wool and I'm off to see a hedgehog in Holland LOL.

Somewhere Someone Is Sleeping

Hello.  Welcome.  A couple of weekends ago I joined the Sin City Stamps Fan Group on fb and was lucky to win a couple of stamps.  They arrived today and Mr Mojo said 'we can do something with those'. In fact, Mr Mojo had 5 ideas for these two small rubber stamps.  His first idea crashed and burned, but this one worked quite well......

The two Sin City stamps I won were Circles Trail and Small Distressed Arrow Symbol.

Maybe it's lucky I'm a simple girl, but these look full of potential to me.  Obviously I have used the circles stamp LOL.

Everyone seems obsessed with perfect stamping, but sometimes the imperfections can make it more interesting.  I lightly inked the stamp with black Archival ink.  Because this is a solid stamp lightly inking allows the texture of the ink pad to show in the stamped image.  I also used hammered card so in some places the texture of the card shows through the stamped image.  I repeatedly stamped to cover the card and then used a white gel pen to draw random lines.  I cut the panel with the large and medium Stamplorations Double Crazy Stitched rectangle dies, inking all the cut edges and then mounting on a black base card.  Then I die cut the words using Stamplorations word dies.  Pleased with this.  Stay tuned for more fun with these two little rubber beauties.

Rubber Dance Blog Hop

Hello.  Welcome.  The Rubber Dance design team are having a blog hop to celebrate a bright and colourful new Rubber Dance webshop and also the latest stamp release.  There are prizes!!  All you need to do is hop along and leave a little love on each of the blog posts.  If you have just dropped in then hop over to the Rubber Dance blog for details and the complete hop list.

I've made a card using some of my favourite Rubber Dance stamps.  For the background I used a stamp from Round In Circles with midnight blue ink and the feather from Birdies with Evergreen Bough distress ink.  I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment.  I die cut a pennant from vellum and embossed it with Sizzix Cirque embossing folder and added the fussy cut Giraffe.

The hop continues over at Kymona's blog.  If you get lost you can find the complete hop list on the Rubber Dance blog.   Thanks for dropping by and don't forget to leave a comment to be in with a chance to win some Rubber Dance stamps.  Good luck.  Hugz

Challenging Fun

Hello.  Welcome.  I am a member of a fb group that is for tags and ATC's.  This month Jorunn wants CAS but with a few extra items.  She wants us to include newspaper or old book paper, stencil and paste, 2 colours, but you can also use black and washi tape!  Oh, and some drops of mist/ink/paint.  Are you serious??  On a tag or ATC and keep it CAS??!!  Well, I do like a challenge so how about this.......

By golly, I think I've cracked it!  Quite pleased with this and it was so much fun.  Thanks Jorunn.   I used yellow and white with black.

So, I stuck a piece of black/clear stripey washi tape on a piece of bright yellow card and cut my tag using Stamplorations large Luggage Tag die, making sure the tape was off the edge (but that's for a whole other challenge LOL).  Then I used a polka dot stencil and yellow Dreamweavers texture paste along the base of the tag.  I dripped some drops of yellow dylusions spray and dilute white acrylic paint, the yellow drops are those greasy looking spots.  They are much more distinct in the real LOL.

I stamped and embossed the lamb from Rubber Dance Textured Spring on old book paper and fussy cut him.  I added him to the edge of the tag and then decided it needed a sentiment.  I wanted to keep it small so I stamped the surprise inside sentiment from Rubber Dance Happy Birthday set onto shrink plastic and skrunk it.  A bit of black wool and it's done.  I might have to try this again.  It was fun.
