Working With Scraps

Hello.  Welcome.  Last night I grabbed some pre-stamped pre-cut stuff and sorted out what was ready to use and what needed colouring or clipping.  Then tonight I decided to put some of these items together and made this

Gorjuss Girl The White Rabbit was in the scraps, as were the little pink flowers, which are Cheery Lynn BAF#3 embellishments, and the background.  I made that with brushos and some stamped and embossed Paperartsy flowers.  Then I didn't like it.  But framed with Cheery Lynn Emperor Swan border and with Gorjuss girl standing in front it looks pretty good.

The bunnies are from Tando Mini Rabbits set.  I left them naked.  A pink rhinestone finishes each flower.

I added a blue card layer that I smudged with Stormy Sky distress ink and mounted on a raspberry base.

Off to see what other gems are lurking in the scraps box.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Party Blooper

Hello.  Welcome.  I was working on a inky, painty, mummy masterpiece but it is not as I imagined.  So I made a CAS party card instead with a cute little rascal from Panduro.

I coloured with sharpies and distress inks.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Happy Birthday set.

Hoo Are You Looking At?

To enter my giveaway go HERE

Hello.  Welcome.  I had an idea and it became this.

I started with a couple of metal charms from Korthobby

I cut the large charm in half and backed it with green glitter card.  I added some gold mirror card behind the owls eyes and two green rhinestones.

I cut a valley fold base card in white and die cut Taylored Expressions Southwest Cutting Plate from the same white card.  This gives a lovely faux embossed look.

I added a green layer behind the card.

The happy birthday is a stamp from Marks Finest Papers Tiger set.

Dandelion Tea

To enter my giveaway go HERE

Hello.  Welcome.  Just a quick post with another make for the coffee lovers blog hop using the remains of my cup from yesterday.

Glad they printed that fun design on both sides LOL.

Bright green and dandelions.  A sure sign of spring.  I used a gold textured card with black inked edges and a piece of lace printed paper.   I cut the label shape using a spellbinders die.  The teacup is a stamp from The Artistic Stamper that I stamped, embossed, fussy cut and coloured with distress inks.  I cut Cheery Lynn's Dandelions many times from white card and arranged them around the label shape.

Coffee With Friends

To enter my giveaway go HERE

Hello.  Welcome.  A while a go I went to town and had a coffee.  It came in this cup

So the thrifty crafter rinsed it out and took it home, cos I loved the colour, and the texture and the smile.  When I was cleaning up earlier today this popped up and I decided to repurpose for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I cut a section of the cup into a cup shape! and added some tabs to keep it raised off the card.  I made a painty background using acrylic paints and a brayer and added two metal heart charms from Korthobby.

I added some coffee sachets.

Love that smile

R is for Rooster

To enter my giveaway go here

Hello.  Welcome.  We are having a lovely week here in Norway with lovely sunny calm days.  It's been a little quiet here in my little corner of blogland as I have been spending much time in the garden.  Look, signs of spring......

Then today some lovely new stamps arrived from Rubber Dance Stamps and I couldn't wait to get them inky.  Here's my first project with the newly released Rascal Rooster, just in time to join The Craft Barn's Alpha challenge for 'R'.  Was so excited when I saw this one.  I keep chickens and this is a beautifully detailed and very realistic stamp.  Love it.  Here he is......

So here we go, rooster n. (US) domestic cock.  I kid you not!!  That's the OED definition.  One feels they could have expanded a little....  I covered my playing card with some Basic Grey yellow patterned paper.  I stamped the background with stamps from the Rubber Dance Round In Circles set, the large circle in yellow and the small linked circles in blue.  I stamped Rascal Rooster, coloured and fussy cut.  Then I made his neck by repeatedly stamping the long feathers from the stamp on a piece of card and coloured it blue.  I will be back with this gorgeous stamp again soon.  Oh, and there's a massive 25% off this new release until 20/03/16.  Go HERE for details.

Signs of Oz

Hello.  Welcome.  Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity they are having a Wizard of Oz themed blog hop and inviting us to join up with some Oz themed projects.  I searched the stash and came up with this WoO quote stamp from Unity Stamps.  I made an ATC with a yellow brick road background and a faux wood sign.......

I embossed some yellow handmade paper with Sizzix distressed bricks embossing folder and cut a 'road', with meadow/butterfly printed paper along the edges.  I made my faux wood board sign.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Unity I Am Woman set with midnight sparkle embossing powder and added some mini brads.   Good advice on the road to Oz......

Bunny, Bunny, Bunny

To enter my giveaway go here

Hello.  Welcome.  Just wanted to sneak in an entry to the MFP Hearts and Bunnies blog hop challenge.  I followed Vickie's tutorial to make this fun little treat basket

I know, it's that wabbit again!!  But he's so cute.  And neglected!  So since he's out I thought I'd make good use.  I scored and cut my 6" piece of Bo Bunny paper, glued and added the handle.  Then I stamped, embossed, fussy cut and coloured the Anitas rabbit.

Surprising how roomy these little baskets are.  Hmmmmm, sweeties.

It's a Bunny Time of Year

Hello.  Welcome.  MFP want to see CAS and bunnies, and since I had this snazzy dude out, I thought I'd make a QACAS card using the Share the Joy colours

For me March is a busy birthday month and then April, well that's just wall to wall birthdays.  So I decided to use this cute Anita's bunny to make a birthday card for a friend who has an Easter birthday this year.  I stamped and embossed the bunny and the sentiment from MFP's Tiger set.  Then I gave it a water colour wash using pink, blue and yellow distress inks.  I have added Windsor and Newton Iridescent watercolour medium to my waterbrush so now everything has bling........

Thanks for dropping by.  I have a little giveaway going on.  Check this post for details.  Hugz

R is for Rabbit

To enter my giveaway go here

Hello.  Welcome.  Well, of course it is.  Here's my R Altered Playing card for the Craft Barn Alpha Dictionary challenge.  I went with rabbit

Rabbit n. burrowing animal with long ears and a short furry tail.  Can't see this guy doing much burrowing.

I started by adding Mermaid Lagoon distress to my playing card, then swiping it off again in places.  I cut Cheery Lynn English Tea Party doily three times from blue card.  More Mermaid Lagoon.

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the rabbit.  I coloured with sharpies, added the dictionary definition and a piece of brown Bazzill for him to stand on.

Warts And All

Hello.  Welcome.  Over at Paperartsy this fortnight the challenge is image transfer.  Something I've never had much success with.  I don't have all those products that people use to transfer an image and quite honestly, except for occasionally wanting to reverse a stamp, it's not really something I've tried.   So I have been lurking, picking up tips but not putting my toe in the water.  Then I saw Kaz's post, where she uses grunge paste as a transfer medium.  Got that!!  So I photocopied an image of a lady and followed the process.  Whilst waiting for GP to dry I thought I'd give Keren's super easy transfer ideas a go.....

Here's a Do Crafts fox with it's very sketchy reversed image.  I used brown archival.  Maybe not the best choice.  It would also have helped to have had layers underneath maybe.  I decided the real fox would look good coloured with Spiced Marmalade.  I used distress inks to colour the water, grass and sky as well.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Affirmations set.  It's sweet, but I think I need practice.

The GP lady??  Maybe it wasn't dry enough but she made a good ghostly apparition, but a very poor image transfer............

Gorjuss, Games and Giveaways

Hello.  Welcome.  I am content.  The day started sunny and I decided to do nothing.  I sat in the sun with my friend drinking coffee.  Blissful.  Then it got cloudy!  OK, maybe I'll get those seeds planted and then I can get crafty.  So I did.

Now I realise I am having a bit of a Gorjuss period, but I got a great deal just before christmas and have discovered they are so much fun.  This is the first outing for The White Rabbit (NBUS).  Incidently there are no rabbits with this set.  Pity.  I've used the Repeat Impression colours of pink, teal and brown.

My girl is stamped on Prima Something Blue paper, fussy cut, then coloured with distress watercolours (face, hands, trousers) and promarkers (coat and hair).  I used a gold pilot marker for the chain, clock and hearts.  I stamped Fiskars Continuous Flowers (NBUS) and Rubber Dance sentiment in Archival Potting Soil.

I have 2 Fiskar Continuous Stamps, Flowers and Dots, to giveaway.  These are designed to be used with the Fiskars continuous stamping gadget but I just slap them on an acrylic block.  If you are interested leave me a comment including the name of your favourite flower.  I will draw a winner 1st April.  Any other comments you leave on my other posts between now and the draw will give you an extra entry, but you must leave a comment including a flower name on this post to be eligible.

You Spin Me Right Round

Hello.  Welcome.  So, I'm wobbling around crafty blogland and I come across the CASology challenge where the cue word is SPIN.  Ah ha, thinks I, I have the perfect stamp for that.  So I rattle through my small collection of Timmy stamps and lo! a new inspiration hits.

NBUS alert!!  I was lucky enough to win this limited edition set of TH stamps during Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2015.  Thanks Simon.  It's never seen ink! (NBUS).  The stamps are slightly smaller than the full size TH blueprint stamps and each comes with a sentiment.  I cut a square white card and stamped the sentiment on each side.  Then I stamped the hand, coloured with distress inks and fussy cut.  I added a crystal brad as a cufflink.  This allows the hand to spin.

L is for Librarian

Hello.   Welcome.  I've been having fun tonight altering a playing card for the Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary challenge.  This time we are playing with the letter L.  I went with Librarian

Librarian - a person in charge of or assisting in a library.  She looks like she could assist.  And she's got a lovely pile of books.  Works for me.......    I covered my playing card with some do-craft script paper.  A story about a teddy bear locked in the attic.  Sad.  I edged and tinted with Shabby Shutters distress ink.  Then I added a chevron chipboard which I also smeared with Shabby Shutters. I added a torn piece of book paper from a Norwegian book.  Possibly a steamy romance?  A bit more Shabby Shutters.  Then we have Gorjuss New Heights (NBUS) and her pile of books.  Ain't she sweet.  Coloured with distress inks and added the definition from the OED.  The butterflies are Crafty Individuals stamps.

Spring Wishes

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy March.  I am a keen gardener.  I love growing my own food.  Last year was a wash out.  What the slugs didn't eat died due to lack of summer.  This year, well, I can't do much about the weather, but maybe I can get lucky with the little slimy dudes/dudettes.........

A gardening good luck sign using the Rubber Dance March challenge colours:-

I made a background using Ripe Persimmon and Cracked Pistachio distress inks.  Then I stamped a border using the paintbrushes from Rubber Dance Artist Plate and embossed in white.

The snail is EyeConnect chipboards.  I stamped the Totem Snail's shell and horns with the large spiral from Round in Circles.  I used the brush numbers stamp from Artist Plate to add texture to the snail's body.  I used Rubber Dance Alphabet Uno to stamp my spring wish and embossed with green tinsel embossing powder.  I added a neon wool hanger.

All stamps are from Rubber Dance.
