Well, Here We Are

Hello.  Welcome.  The last day of the year.  Hope it's been a good one for you.  Hope the next one is better.  If you are celebrating be safe.  My man's niece has just had a baby so I decided a baby card was in order.

Keeping it simple with a Marianne Design die cut and this cute teddy from Stamplorations coloured with distress inks.  The joy is a sizzix die cut from blue glitter card.

Lets try something different....

Hello.  Welcome.  I made this for Scrappegarasjens 3rd lift.  I just missed the linky but I had to share cos I think he's so cute.  I have been looking through the stash and had dug out some chipboards and stickers.  This cute koala is an Imaginise chipboard.  I paired him up with some really cool washi tapes I got for a steal at Nille.  That's Norwegian Woolworths!!  Sort of LOL

P is for Pig

Hello.  Welcome.  So glad my greenhouse survived the recent hurricane.  Well, mostly survived.  We had to repair one panel, but it's amazing what you can do with duct tape bwahahahahahahaha.  The crazy crafting continues with a couple more cards.  It's quite liberating to generate so many cards in so short a time.  Not usually my thing.

Since I had my brand new Unity December SMAK kit out I just had to stamp this lovely vintage beauty.  Love the distressed look to this image.  I coloured her with distress inks and tried to do a smudgy sunset sort of effect to help keep the look of the 1st lift at Scrappegarasjen.  The sentiment is also Unity.

And here he is.....  This is my card for The Craft Barn challenge.  I used Scrappegarasjen card lift 2 and papers from Craft Creations.  The pig is a Cheery Lynn die.  Dictionary definition from OED and a doodle down the lhs, cos I can LOL

Hello.  Welcome. Sometimes the mojo gets a kick from the strangest places.  I have been crafting like a crazy woman today.  OK, I am a crazy woman bwahahahahaha.  But I have been crafting.  Gonna save us all some time and post a couple at a time.

I made this card using a flower stamp from Unity's December SMAK kit and card lift 1 from Scrappegarasjen.  The sentiment is also Unity.  I coloured with Wilted Violet distress ink.

Most Wanted

Hello.  Welcome.  A few days left in 2016.  A few challenges I meant to join still calling to me.  I really liked the CASE over at Coffee Loving Cardmakers CASE the DT and the colours in the Stamplorations Cutplorations inspiration photo and made this

I cut Stamplorations Coffee Cup Silhouette Die 4 times in white and arranged them on a blue base panel.  The cup is Unity Java Friends, embossed with silver powder, coloured with blues and fussy cut.   I filled the handle with a glittery red heart.  I cut Marianne Designs Pine Branch 6 times from two shades of red and arranged them under the cup.  I used a Sizzix die to cut the word Joy, 4 times from card and then once from silver glitter card to give a chunky chipboard style embellishment.

Whhhoooooshhhhhh

Hello.  Welcome.  Hope you are having a fun festive season.  Looking forward to the New Year?  Can hardly believe another year has wizzed away?  Me too!!  Wizz, wizz.  Another year gone.  What a ride!!

I based my card on the 3rd lift at Scrappegarasjen. Such a pretty layout.  I went with shades of green using Inspired by Stamping Background Basics V set to stamp and emboss the pennant pieces.   The birds are a new stamp from Unity December KOM.  I stamped and added a bit of water colour and then cut the panel with Inspired by Stamping Fancy Labels 2 die.  I added a couple of Woodware chipboard shapes, also stamped and embossed with the check stamp, and a pretty flower brad.

Hopper Shaver

Hello.  Welcome.  I was over at CASology today and their cue word is 'Toast'.  Had images of pieces of bread leaping from a small household appliance, as indeed did some of the DT LOL, but then these two lovely ladies from Unity Stamps sprang to mind......

I stamped Unity's Party Girls with Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I stamped the sentiment in black, but since the cue word was toast, I masked off the first two words, I love, and wrote in 'To' instead.  Cheers!!

M is for Monkey

Hello.  Welcome.  Merry Christmas everyone.  Hope you have had a splendid day filled with all good things.  I have altered a playing card for the Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary challenge.  This time it is M and I went with Monkey

I used some banana leaf patterned paper for my background.  I cut Cheery Lynn's Yay! Monkey and, inspired by the two stamps that I got on a couple of christmas cards, I cut him a tee-shirt and diaper. I coloured my monkey with distress inks and his diaper stripes, eyes, mouth and the 'm' are coloured with promarkers.  The 'm' is a sizzix diecut.  I also found some paper with banana's printed on it so I cut it out and gave it to the monkey.

Drive Faster Dad

Hello.  Welcome.  Playing with the second card lift over at Scrappegarasjen, green and red for Cheery Lynn and this cute Gruffles stamp from Beartastic Day to make a fun christmas card.  OK, so maybe it looks a bit like a glorified snow globe!!  Ho Ho Ho......

I stamped, embossed and coloured the image from Gruffles Beartastic Day with promarkers.  I cut it out using a sizzix circle die with a bit of fussy fancy cutting for the top presents.

I used Cheery Lynn Mini Bubbles Border and part of the Southern Valance die cut.  I cut both from green patterned paper and only removed some of the bubbles before backing it with red card.  I used a piece of red paper and wove it through the valance die cut.   The sentiment is from Power Poppy Action Santa set and I added a few of the bubbles on the rhs.

And Suddenly The Shopkeeper Appeared

Hello.  Welcome.  I have been having trouble with party hats.  They just were not looking like hats.  And I was getting complaints about having to 'put a triangle on my head'.  But then she took over the whole wood and suddenly there were hats everywhere so I really don't understand what she was complaining about..........

I used a piece of patterned card from Craft Creations for my card base.  I coloured a Signatures die cut, Woodland Window, with distress inks and backed it with a green brusho background.  I wanted a bit more interest so I used Stamplorations Weathered Wood stencil and Espresso distress ink.  Hmmmmm.........

Oops, there she is.  Lost Coast's Whimsical Flora with a Tim Holtz party hat.  Had to add the label so she knew which one to put on her head and which ones to hang from the trees.  Parteee.  Everyone welcome.

And Then There Were More

Hello.  Welcome.  In the mood for a few more of the small pillow boxes, this time more obviously christmas themed.  I bought a lovely pad of double sided christmas paper from the Works and these are made with the same sheet, just back and front versions.

These fun stamps are from Power Poppy's Action Santa set.  I stamped, embossed with black powder and fussy cut them.  I chose to leave them black and white.  I stamped the flurry stamp from the same set and embossed with green tinsel embossing powder.  Two more gifts wrapped.......

UFO Convention

Hello.  Welcome.  Dreams can be a good thing and sometimes they even come true.  Sometimes I imagine traveling around the world visiting all the crafty friends I have only met online.  Sometimes I dream of opening the door to my craft room to find that santa's elves have found a spare hour and tidied it all away and polished the silver.  Sometimes I hope that there will be so many UFO's that they collide and magically become a thing.  Ah well, one out of three ain't bad.........

I stamped this sweet image for the coffee lovers hop but it never got used.  It's a stamp from Power Poppy's Short Stacks set.  I stamped it on some paper that had gold foil on it, embossed with black powder, coloured with promarkers and fussy cut.

I was going to cover some small pillow boxes for some small gifts, but since this paper was a good weigh I decided to use the pillow box as a pattern and make my own.  I added a circle of patterned paper and the stack of cups.  Not patterns and colours I would usually try to use together but I think it works.

Snow More Winter

Hello.  Welcome.  I just can't get in the jingle mood so I would like to thank Always Use Rubber for wanting Summer/Autumn.  I would like to thank Allsorts for a fun bingo board.  I would like to thank Scrappegarasjen for yet another lovely lift.  I want to thank Rubber Dance Stamps for Textured Flower stamps.  And I would like to thank you for visiting.

I used a blue base card and added a purple metal layer that I embossed using a Studio Ten embossing plate and cut using Stamplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle die.  I stamped the flowers from Rubber Dance Textured Flowers, masking to keep them one layer, coloured with Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch distress ink, and fussy cut them.  The sentiment is from Unity Anastasia (Believes)

Y is for Yatzy

Hello.  Welcome.  I said to my man 'an English word starting with Y'.  He says 'yatzy'.  Is that English?  Whatever, it works for me.  So here's a giant altered playing card, yatzy style....

We recently inherited an old yatzy set so I grabbed an old score card and stuck it on my playing card.  I made the dice using a square Sizzix die and Cheery Lynn's BAF#3 embellishments for the flowers dots.   I made the definition on the computer cos my dictionary didn't have this one.

Strawberry Cream Cupcakes and A Lovely Cup of Tea

Hello.  Welcome.  I was lucky enough to win a challenge at the Mod Squad Challenge and got a voucher for Power Poppy stamps.  Must admit, this was a new company for me.  Marcella has some lovely images, reasonable international postage and great service.  I was at a party last night and wanted to take a hostess gift, so I put together a mini pizza box for a necklace I had made.

The tag is from Power Poppy Short Stacks set.  The teapot actually had tulips in it so I masked them off and added a very badly drawn lid!!  Well, that's why I buy stamps isn't it??!!  I coloured with promarkers and added some silver sharpie dots.  I wanted it to look wintery.

I made my box by cutting some christmas papers 10 x 18cm.  I cut a notch using a Fuzzy Lemon baby rattle die, folded and edged with Barn Door distress ink.

I used a bit of silver twine to seal the box and tied the gift tag to it as well.  Slight mistake with the colouring resulted in strawberry cream, but since the recipient likes pink I am sure this will be overlooked.

Big Is Beautiful

Hello.  Welcome.  Don't you just love technology??!!!   The last couple of days my laptop hasn't wanted to connect to the internet.  I was starting to get to the 'throw it through the window' stage, but luckily my man managed to talk some sense into it.  So I'm back!!

When I get a new stamp I tend to do the most simple thing I can with it.  I stamp it.  You get a good look at the image and I am definitely much more a keep it simple sort of gal.  So Anastasia (She Believes) arrived from Unity.  This is the stamp I chose as my GIU freebie.  Oh my goodness.  She's big.   She's beautiful.  So, I did this....

I stamped her on kraft and embossed with white powder.  Then I added a white mat and a red card base.  I love this.  Until I did this........

Oh my, now she really rocks!!  Red embossed on kraft with a red mat on a white card base.  I might break my aversion to making the same card many times.  So many situations this will be perfect for.  She is so cool.

I still like the white, but the red is just fab.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

It's a Very Big Plaice

Hello.  Welcome.  Cheery Lynn are looking for Sparkle and Shine and CASology want Space.  And despite the fact that prime time Norwegian TV is showing loads of women baking christmas cookies, I just don't seem to be finding the jingle tonight.......

I love the subtle pattern on the background paper and I have cut Cheery Lynn's Koi from gold metal foil and red glitter card.  Little fish, big sea.

Shaker Card Gremlins

Hello.  Welcome. The Marianne Design Challenge is a wintery card.  I decided to keep it bright and use a robin and some winter greenery and make a shaker card.  I like shaker cards.  I always have such a beautiful picture in my head of how it's going to turn out.  In reality, there are always way more challenges that you would possibly imagine.

Some people seem to just throw shaker cards together.  I am not one of those people.  Today I managed to explode a large tub of glitter,  a really large tub of glitter, in my craft room!  I couldn't get the lid off, and then the sprinkle dingsen jammed, and the lid fell off!!  Then, when I tried to put it back on, the container split, in a dramatic dump all that glitter on the floor sort of way.  I was proud of myself.  I didn't shout or swear.  I did look at it in disbelief that the shaker card gremlins had managed to strike again.  And then I discovered, that while I was on holiday, my dustbuster had lost all it's charge and that large pile of glitter attached itself to my socks and the cats paws and now the house is looking amazingly festive.   Hey ho, ho ho ho..........

So here's my card.  I like it.  I will deal with the escaped glitter later....

I used Marianne dies.  The star wreath die is LR0126 and the pine branch is from the same set cut from two shades of green.  I used dies COL1301 to construct the robin.

I used wood effect paper and funky foam behind to make the shaker.  I cut the foam with circle dies from CR1331 and added some glitter.  Just noticed it looks like robin is safe and warm in his box and it's snowing outside LOL.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm off to scoop some glitter....  Hugz

Happy Christmas Marianne

Click here for the CCC November Reveal

Hello.  Welcome.  You may have heard of a company called Marianne Designs.  They have a lovely and extensive range of stamps, dies, papers and much more.   Marianne sponsors many challenges and her DT have challenged us to make a christmas card for Marianne and send it to her in Holland.  So here is my card, using Marianne Design dies of course.

I kept it clean and simple and used the lift from Scrappegarasjen challenge.

Here's a close up of my bauble.  I used red metallic card and silver glitter card.  I cut the bauble and the star border embellishments using die LR0126.  The top of the bauble is cut using die CR1222.  This is actually a Leaning Tower of Pisa die cut, but I thought the very top of the tower would make a great bauble hanger.  Then I cut some red flowers using die CR1323 and added some rhinestones.  The metal copper snowflake is from Korthobby.  A piece of silver thread and I edged the card with Barn Door distress ink.  Merry Christmas Marianne.

CCC November Card

Hello.  Welcome.  Just wanted to share the card I sent to Lorraine in England for the November Card Chain Challenge.  The full reveal can be seen below this post.

I was on holiday when I made this so this is desert island crafting.  I used black and white patterned paper for the background panel and also for the circular scribble shapes which I cut out and added to the card.  The owls are some preprinted vellum cutouts.  Aren't they cute?!  I backed them with white card to make them less transparent.

This was the lasts CCC for 2016.  Hope to be back with more global exchanges next year.  Hugz
