Team Dad

Greetings Nomad followers and friends.  Special hello and welcome to new followers.  So glad you joined us.  So summer is here, the bunnies are bouncing, the chicks are hatching.  I mean, right now, the chicks are hatching.  Very exciting.  There are a lot of men challenges out there at the moment what with Fathers Day just around the corner.  Thought I'd flex my brain cell and try a few man cards.  Never the easiest I find but plenty of inspiration out there so here we go.  Man card number 1

I have done a Shaped card.   I have used the Soccer boy from Panduro's Pojkar set Stamped onto some Scrap card and cut out.  The card idea was inspired by Alby over at Bunny Zoe's Crafts where the challenge is casing a DT member.  I liked the colour, blue of course, and the shape of Alby's card so I used my new Crafts Too Frames 7 set.  I embossed the two pale blue layers with Sizzix Retro Circles and Bricked embossing folders.  Then added some highlights using VersaMagic Night Sky.  The DAD was cut from dark blue card with Sizzix Ducky Wucky but the embossing didn't show up very well so I coloured over using American Crafts blue galaxy marker.

Ooh, having a bit of a link frenzy.  Ah well might get lucky.  It's always nice to win even if it is just good old Mr Random doing the honours.   Was very happy today when Mr Random picked me over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge.  Now there's some very illustrious company over there so very happy to be a winner.  I can stock up on a few of their delicious stamps now.  Happy Dance.

Thanks for dropping by.  All comments gratefully received.  Off to feed the hungry ones and see if I can hear any peeps.  Or something like that.........

  3. Surprisingly, Gail, I have never made a "shaped" card, so I find this one particularly interesting...and trendy! I must have a go at this! I think your soccer guy is perfect for any dad because if he is still not playing soccer, he has taught his kids soccer, or definitely *remembers* playing soccer! Definitely a winner in my book!

  8. That's a very stunning card! I am simply awed with the design. Truly manly. Some good fathers day quotes would be great on that.

    Cheers and congratulations!
