The Voice of the Sea Speaks to the Soul

Hello Nomad fiends.  The voice of the sea does speak to my soul.  Here's a brave little dude doing a bit of wave riding on a hot summer evening.

I made the background using Colourcraft Aztec pearlescent paint and added some black splatts.  The boy in canoe and fish are Aall and Create stamps and the sentiment is a huge favourite of mine from Crafty Individuals.

Do Fish Sing In The Night

Hello Nomad friends.  The sun is trying to come out but I've been feeling inspired and creative with a little mini journal page.  Well, maybe not so mini.

I used Aall and Create stencil, die and stamps and borrowed some lyrics from Tom Walker Leave a Light On.  What better light to leave on that a Lighthouse lamp.  Get home safely everyone.

Cold Water on a Sunny Day

Hello Nomad friends.  We had two very hot days and it looks like summer is over for this month.  Always nice to spend the end of the month in the craft room making some makes I have been meaning to make all month.  Flowers aren't hugely my thing, but now and again you have to get out of your comfort zone.

I used Crafty Individuals 492 for the flower background, stamped with lime green ink.  The couple on bikes and sentiment are Crafty Individuals 186, stamped and fussy cut.

'Go confidently in the direction of your dreams'

Sounds like good advice.

Home on the Range

Hello Nomad friends.  I have some more inspiration for the Red, White and Blue challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  I'm seeing a lot of dark backgrounds around so I decided to go midnight blue and make a winter scene.

I stamped the navy panel with Lost Coast Designs Small Snowflakes using white ink.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Snow Cowboy with sky blue ink, did some fussy cutting and used a couple of snowy hills dies to cut the snowdrifts.  I used markers to add a little red and blue to the snowman.

Link up your stamped projects predominantly featuring the colours Red, White and Blue for your chance to win Lost Coast Dollars.  Linky closes 23.59 on the 30th.

On the Shores of the Cosmic Ocean

Hello Nomad friends.  It's hot, damn hot!!!   Why can't they spread it out a bit.  Make it a bit more even.  You know, rain at night, sun during the day, a nice low to mid 20's temps.  The thermometer in the sun hit 41°C yesterday!!!   Desert Høle.  Anyway, let's go to the beach and beyond...........

I've used lots of Funky Fossil stamps and papers here.  Astro and the Space Whale is a stamp set that gives whales and these ever so cute little aquanauts.

The first one is holding his nose, ready to dive,
the second guy is riding his whale and the last one is about to ditch in style.
Way to travel aquanauts.......

Bird in the Hop Meadow

Hello Nomad friends.  Seems birds are on the menu again.  Not literally you understand.......

I've made another shapey card using a stitched pennant die to cut the card front and plaid panel.  That cute little bird is Memory Box Sitting Sparrow cut from blue plaid and ice cream box. The pretty die is Memory Box Hopmeadow Circle.  I cut it from grey card, ran it back through with an embossing mat to get the lovely emboss detail and highlighted it with grey ink.  The sentiment is also by Memory Box.  They are quite thick and the card they have used has a lovely soft texture.  I layered it on a circle of the plaid and gave it a black border.

I used the same plaid paper inside and you can just see the sentiment circle hangs just outside the fishtail.

Birds in the Desert

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Midsummer.  It's warming up a bit here this week, and not just because of all the bonfires burning tonight!!  Soon there will be hotdogs and burgers, but first a little trip to the desert.

I find myself being inspired by my family and friends preferences when buying crafty stash.  Who knew so many people liked cacti??!!   I've always been a desert fan so had no problem adding this lovely Hero Arts Cactus Bold Prints stamp to my stash recently.  I did some yellow, orange, pink distress ink blending and then stamped the Cactus with Cactus Flower hot pink ink.  I decided to go hexagonal, offsetting the card front one half turn from the card base.  Quite like that idea.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the little desert scene from Hero Arts Where To Next stamp set.  The happy birthday, from Hero Arts Jawsome Sharks set was stamped on a scrap of the ink blended panel and I added a couple of birds cut using Hero Arts Bird Word Dies.

This makes me feel all warm and summery.
