Poppin In

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm poppin' in today with some inspiration for the current Let Us Entertain You challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  We want to see your stamped anythings with an entertainment theme, so think anything to do with entertainment.  Juggling dogs, trapeze artist cats, clowns, circus, movie stars, theatre, opera, dancers, TV films etc etc.  The team are posting their awesome makes all month so make sure you check out all the posts on the blog

I've used Lost Coast Designs Silhouette Lady with Umbrella, who makes me think of Mary Poppins, and what's more entertaining than a lady flying in on an umbrella.  She has obviously arrived and is standing within the Arches and Door Background stamped on some slightly inky blue paper.  Then I added the Thinking Of You from the Party Words set.

You have all month to share your stamped anythings with an entertainment theme. Please read the updated rules before entering. Real rubber or clear stamping and theme must be the focus of your project for a chance to win Lost Coast $$$$$'s.

Homage to Alfred

Hello Nomad friends.  The May challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Let Us Entertain You.  We want to see your stamped anythings with an entertainment theme so think clowns, circus, movie stars, theatre, opera, dancers, TV etc etc.  I have used the wonderful Alfred Hitchcock and combined him with a tonic diecut.

I used Carmen's Veranda Alfred Hitchcock standing and clear sentiments and created texture on the die cut with Lost Coast Designs Flagstone Background stamp, keeping it all black and white.

Going Round

Hello Nomad friends.  It was National Scrappbooking Day on Saturday and I wanted to share a layout I made this weekend.  I have some round watercolour papers and I used brusho's on the background.

I used some ripped scraps and a filmstrip cut using Studio Light die.  The butterflies are Rubber Dance stamps.  I added an elongated offset frame that I was going to add a photo to, but then I spotted this square print which seemed the perfect focus.  The picture and the words were some items that came in a recent happy package from a crafty friend.  I finished by doodling some hearts.

Neverending Pirates

Hello Nomad friends.  I made a neverending card today.  Thought it was going to be a neverending project bwaahahahahahahahaa.  If you are doing this you will discover if your cutting is accurate or not and make you question the actual length of a cm or inch!!!   Those four base pieces need to be perfect or it all goes horribly wrong before it begins.  But once the base is together it was really fun cutting lots of little bits to cover all the panels.

And here we are back at the beginning.  Loads of patterned paper used here.  OK, maybe not loads.  Loads of bits of patterned paper LOL.  I've had these pirate papers for a while and bits have been chopped out of them over the years.  The card is 15cm x 15cm so I pieced the patterns into the panels.  The little twin pirates are Marianne Design dies.

Low Flying Panda

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  32 cards whizzed their way around the planet bringing joy and love in every envelope.  I'd like to thank all the amazing artists who take part in this exchange every month.  Your kind words, support and awesome art make this exchange a delight to administer.  A special hug to Jo, my wingwoman, muse, mojo booster and #1 helper.  It's amazing how this all comes together every month like a well oiled machine LOL.

My card went to Dagmara in Poland this month.  I was a bit slow off the blocks, but I hope it caught a fast pigeon and arrives soon.....

After a shaky start, when it looked like I might miss all the options bwahahhahahaaha, I finally settled on friendship and pop-up.  It's an easel card with Funky Fossil papers and the Up, Up And Away panda with balloons stamp.  I actually fussy cut the panda and his balloons, but he looks well integrated here.  The sentiment is from Crafty Individuals and is one I have used a lot during my many years of sending Card Chain Challenge cards.

Hop over and check out the whole awesome and amazing REVEAL

Getting a Dragon in a Mail Box

Hello Nomad friends.  April has been BUSY!!!!  Lots of plans to create have sort of dropped by the way, but there is still time to join some April challenges.  The Lunar New Year Challenge is one I have had my eye on for a while so I sat down and made a Dragon birthday easel card with a Carmen's Veranda snarky sentiment.

I used sizzix colorize dragon in shades of red and pink.  I embossed the background panel with Simon Says Stamp Fireworks embossing folder.

It easels up to reveal the second part of the sentiment and a happy birthday stamped on the funky fossil printed paper panel.

Hoppy Birthday

Hello Nomad friends.  It's my birthday and I'm celebrating with a cute and fluffy bunny card for the Lost Coast Designs Cute and/or Fluffy challenge.  What's more cute and fluffy than a bunny!!!!

I don't usually use pink but I have been making a couple of baby girl cards and it was still lying there!!   I followed the De Egel sketch and stamped Lost Coast Designs Flowers Background pink on pink.  I stamped the bunny on a scrap of card and added little touches of colour to the eye and nose.  I cut the circle from a scrap of grey woodgrain card and found a bit of green that I had used a grass die on previously.  Perfect!!  I used some of the other small pieces of pink for fishtail banners and stamped the Happy Birthday from Carmen's Veranda Queen of Everything sentiment stamp.

You have until 23.59 PST on the 30th to join the Cute and/or Fluffy challenge.  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so do pop over and check out their awesome makes.

Sheepy Spring

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made a spring card for Lost Coast Designs Cute and/or Fluffy challenge.  I've gone a bit more wooly than fluffy, but you gotta admit, she's a cutie.

I used Carmen's Veranda Sheep Doll and coloured her in spring greens.  The background stamp is Lost Coast Designs Daffodils Background.  I used a scallop die to cut my shaker aperture and also die cut some lovely green grass for her to stand on.

Dog In An Art Deco Box

Hello Nomad friends.  There are a few challenges featuring window/apertures and it's actually quite fun.  Tonight I have a dog with an art deco frame.

I used Poppystamps Geometric Deco Plate craft die for the frame and Whittle Cutie Dog die for the dog.  I cut the centre out of the card and paper pieced the frame which gave it back a bit of strength.

The card opens to reveal the dog sleeping on a mat, which is actually a pocket for a gift card, or some tea bags, or a tag or message.  Whatever you want really.

In The Cat House

Hello Nomad friends.  Having another big moment for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Cute and/or Fluffy challenge, and what's more cute and fluffy than cats!!

I was feeling lazy so I fussy cut everything.  Nightmare for some, but I enjoy fussy cutting and everything here was pretty simple.  I used Lost Coast Designs Yourba Adire Background and Fourth Dimension Background for my cat house.  Then I stamped three Yoga Cats and the Anchor Fish with blue ink and fussy cut.  I stamped ATC Many Cats on an inky scrap and added a die cut frame.

Peekaboo Butterfly

Hello Nomad friends.  Butterflies and blooms are always popular for birthday cards and I made this one very blue for a fire-born friend.

I've had this turquoise pierced card for a while so I decided today was it's day!  The central design is Memory Box Hopmeadow Circle die.  I fussy cut the angel wing after drawing round the outside of the die.  The butterflies are also Memory Box, Gloriosa Butterfly Duo Outlines.   Love that there is a seperate die for the butterfly body, which comes in handy so many places......  The sentiment is from Power Poppy.

it opens to reveal this.....

Santa Seminar : Navigation

Hello Nomad friends.  Santa is back with his friend Rudolf and they are discussing the finer points of navigation.  Nothing worse than getting your GPS in a tangle on the busiest night of the year.

Santa is sporting his silver suit tonight and Rudolf polished up his nose.  I used that lovely Simon Says Stamp Faceted Snowflakes embossing folder on matt silver paper for the background.  I found a sad looking silver star in the scraps box and tried to jazz it up with a little more embossing.  Not sure it feels jazzed.  It is a bit of a curiosity, an eight pointed star.  Santa is obviously explaining that to Rudolf who is probably blinded by his red shiny nose.  Both santa and rudolf are sizzix papercut die sets.

Aries Rising

Hello Nomad friends.  I like astrology.  Not so much the reading of the horoscope but the whole characters and traits and symbolism.  It's Aries time at the moment and I've made a birthday card for the ram in our lives with lots of spring greens.

I used Funky Fossil Steampunk Farmyard ram and Art Deco die cut frame.  I coloured the ram with promarkers and metallic sharpies and fussy cut.  I stamped the frame with the star stamp from FF Astro and the Space Whale and fussy cut the planet and stamped the star burst from Astro Says set.  The panel in the top was stamped with a bit from Aall&Create bighorn stamp and the Happy Birthday is Hero Arts.  I also slipped in a couple of aries symbols.

Cute, Fluffy and Sassy

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with some inspiration for the Cute and/or Fluffy challenge.

I kept it simple with a distress ink smooched background and a little scripty stamping using one of the Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy stamps.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Peekaboo Kitty on white card, fussy cut and added some gel pen colour to her eyes.  I added the cat to the card and stamped Carmen's Veranda Hot and Sexy sentiment to finish.

Snail Mail for the Card Chain Challenge

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month and time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  35 cards were sent winging their way around the planet spreading friendship and love.  This is the card I sent to Mia in Greece.

I used the sketch, postal, friendship and string and block options.  Actually love the string and block background.  I wrapped string round an acrylic block and inked with distress ink and stamped.  Pretty cool.  Then I found some postage stamp dies and this Woodware snail mail stamp set.

Do hop over and check out the REVEAL and all the awesome cards that were exchanged
